Edy just comes back from the bathroom and sits on the bed, he wipes his wet hair with the towel and glance at his alarm clock.

"Uwah it's already 8 AM? I have to get ready now."

Edy throws his towel to the dryer and turns it on. The executives have larger room for themselves, not like the other soldiers who shares room and sleep with others a bunk bed, he sleeps in his own room with some private property.

"I can't be late, I have 30 minutes to go to the headquarters office."

Edy opens his drawer and put on his uniform, take his beret, put on the badge on his c.h.e.s.t, and use his belt. The silver belt reflects the sunray from outside the window makes it looks shiny.

"All right, I think I will have to say goodbye to this place soon,"

Says Edy when he's looking at the brown suitcase that standing on the corner while putting his boots on. Edy is looking at it and kneads his palm.

"I will have to say sorry to everyone soon."

Edy leaves his room and head to the headquarters office. Today is a big day for him, a promotion for him to become a major and soon be transferred to a new place.

"Excuse me."

Edy knocks on a big mild steel sheet door, he's been walking for like 15 minutes and arrive on the headquarters office on the top floor.

'Even I've been living here for like a year, this place still feels big,'

Edy is mumbling while waiting for someone to open the door from inside.

"Welcome Captain Edy, please have a seat."

A middle-aged man opens the door, he's on a black suit, the same cloth with the butler who is standing next to the sofa. Edy steal a glance at two people who are sitting facing each other before they stand up to greet Edy.

Edy is giving a salute to his general who is standing on the left. The moustache on his face looks thick and bit wet, maybe from him drinking the tea he put down just now.

"Captain, you don't need to be so formal, welcome, and please meet sir Erold, he's the head of the national nuclear facility, and sir Erold, this is Captain Edy who will become the new captain of the army guard in the facility. He will receive a rank promotion today, you may come and watch."

"Pleased to meet you, captain."

Erold reach out his right hand giving a sign to Edy for a greet, Edy quickly reaches out his hand and grip Erold's hand, that short moment maybe looks like a common thing to do and looks normal, but this brief moment is the start of everything for Edy.

The general hands a piece of paper to Edy, he takes it and have a look at it for a while, his eyes are trying to focus and roll from one edge of the paper to the other corner.

The general and Erold sit back on the sofa, and Edy just sits on the empty couch in front of him.

The atmosphere is the room is pretty calming, the sounds of burned wood on the fireplace are the only thing that can be heard in the silence.

The general just give Edy a little smile before he takes another sip of his tea.

The butler who's been standing near the sofa place a cup in front of him and pour Edy some tea from the teapot.

"Thank you."

The butler just nods and then leave to put the teapot in another place. Edy look around the table in front of him trying to find something.

"You need sugar beams, captain?"

"Ah, thank you sir Erold."

"Just call me Erold is fine, hahaha."

Edy takes the little mug filled with sugar blocks, he put 2 sugar blocks to his tea and back to his paper while waiting for the sugar to be mixed.

"Captain sure likes it sweet huh, that's unexpected."

"Ah, I've grown up with sweets thing, my mother loves to make sweets in the past."

"Oh, I want to meet this madam who gave birth to such an awesome man."

Edy suddenly looks down and close his eyes for 2 seconds before he looks back at Erold with a bitter smile.

"I'm sorry, captain."

"It's fine sir, my mother died a long time ago."

"I'm sure she's in the better place now and looking at her son become the most admirable person in the army."

"Thank you, sir."

The atmosphere turned a bit heavy for a moment, the clock ticking, and the time is showing 8:47 AM, Edy has been staying for more than 30 minutes.

"I guess we have to get ready for the ceremony and get your promotion done captain."

The general stood up and invite sir Erold and Edy to go to the training yard, which is now full of soldiers getting ready for the morning ceremony. No soldiers can be seen in the hallway, they all gathered up in the field saluting on the flag, the nationalism heart of soldiers really touches Erold who's witnessing this moment.

Erold keeps praising the soldier while walking to the elevator, he keeps his eyes locked to the soldiers he sees through the glass wall. The general pulls out a card to access the elevator and ask Edy and Erold to get in.

"He will be a major soon, hahaha."

"You are right, general, I'm sorry about that major."

Edy just join in the laughter before they arrive at the bottom floor and walk towards the training field where all the shoulders gathered up.

They held a ceremony, and Edy's promotion takes only 35 minutes to finish, all soldiers go to have their morning training, Edy just goes back to his room to take his stuff because he's leaving today with some of his squad.

"Now then, the mission start."

Edy put on gloves on his hands and tap on his eyeglasses frame before taking his suitcase and leave the room.

"I'm sorry for taking quite some times, sir Erold."

"Ah, it's fine major, we just gathered here and about to wait for you."

Edy looks around and sees 5 faces he barely knew, but they all a part of his squad that will receive a direct order from him, they will lead a smaller unit and serve as Edy's command.

"Let's all work together."

"YES! SIR!"

The 5 of them simultaneously salute to Edy, and he accepts it by greeting back and walk past them to the helicopter then followed by Erold and the 5 soldiers before they take off and head to the nuclear facility.
