Chapter 51: Exploration

After finishing the call, Li Huailin went deeper into the cave. Having been reminded by Red Dust Misty Rain, Li Huailin started paying attention to any treasure chests that could possibly be spawned here. However, the treasure chests in this game were rather quite difficult to find as they were neither highlighted nor placed anywhere obvious. On his way, he killed a few more Fire Elemental Guards.

He found that the chance of getting the Heart of Fire from Fire Elemental Guards was rather quite high here in this mysterious realm. He could get at least one Heart of Fire from each Fire Elemental Guard, and the number could go up to three sometimes. After killing 5 or 6 Fire Elemental Guards, Li Huailin had already gathered 11 Hearts of Fire.

When another Fire Elemental Guard collapsed to the ground, Li Huailin heard a crispy sound that was made from a piece of metal.

Finally! He got a piece of equipment. It was already the seventh Fire Elemental Guard he killed. In fact, he thought that the rewards given in this Mysterious Realm was rather generous. The chances of getting a piece of equipment here was already much higher when compared to other places. But on the other hand… Li Huailin had never fought mobs in other maps, he actually didn’t have any comparison.

However, this Bronze equipment could add Fire Resistance and was part of a set! Li Huailin wondered if this was one of the rewards from this Mysterious Realm.

Li Huailin wore the Fire Guard Shoulder Armor. He planned to take it off when he went back to the city to sell it. With this piece of shoulder armor, he found that his dressing style was quite weird since he was also wearing a set of plain cotton clothing. These two pieces of equipment didn’t match at all. Fortunately, he was just by himself and no one was here to see him.

Although he now had a piece of equipment that added Fire Resistance, Li Huailin found that the next Fire Elemental Guard’s damage was still basically the same. Although he was being very careful, he would still get hit by at least one fireball from each Fire Elemental Guard. So far, he had lost a third of his health points.

While holding the shield, Li Huailin looked stranger now.

When he wore this third piece of equipment, it didn’t bring him another bonus. As Li Huailin kept searching the cave, he found a piece of paper. His heart suddenly started beating fast.

Recipe: Delicious Turtle Boil

Use: You will learn how to cook Delicious Turtle Boil. Required: Advanced Cooking.

Delicious Turtle Boil: Increases 30 Health Points every second for 40 seconds. If the process of eating takes over 15 seconds, Constitution +20%, Spirit +20%. The effect lasts for 30 minutes.

“Why is this a recipe? Where’s my land title?”

Li Huailin was a little disappointed, despite the fact that he knew this was a good recipe. He still wished that it could reduce his constitution by 20%. However, the requirement for learning this recipe made it completely useless to Li Huailin.

Fortunately, the Mysterious Realm was indeed huge. Li Huailin believed that there would be more treasure chests lying in wait for him. Without further ado, he kept going deeper into the cave.

After putting it on, Li Huailin obtained another set bonus.

Li Huailin’s Fire Resistance was now 70. The next Fire Elemental Guard’s fireball had instantly become much less threatening to him. A single fireball could only shave off 70 Health Points now. From time to time, the debuff, Burning, could still regenerate a bit of health for him. In total, the damage of the fireballs had been reduced by half.

Li Huailin knew that he wasn’t going to last long. His health points would soon drop to zero like this.

He decided to try his best since he already came this far. Fortunately, when he dies, his lost experience would all be compensated. Li Huailin kept walking until he came to a new area. This place was completely different from where he was earlier. He walked into this round cave through a passage.

While reaching out their arms and flashing in red light, two Fire Elemental Guards were sending energy to it.

The passage ended above the round platform. Li Huailin had to make up his mind and jump down onto the platform. Just like when he was fighting the Dark Conjurer, this fight would also take place in an enclosed arena.

Li Huailin was quite hesitant. So far, he had only found one treasure chest. What if there were actually more treasure chests here? Once he jumped, he wouldn’t be able to come back.
