The next day, the couple left the mansion at an early hour.

Huang Ruobing’s mansion was enormous. While the decor wasn’t overly extravagant, it was still far more refined than your average suburban home.

Although it was Ye Yang who suggested this plan to irritate He Dong, he was surprised by how readily Huang Ruobing agreed to it.

Out of courtesy, upon arriving at the mansion, Ye Yang did not take a look around but simply freshened up at the guestroom before going to bed.

“You look like you had a good night’s rest,” Huang Ruobing commented.

“The one who didn’t have a good night’s rest was someone else.” Having said that, the duo exchanged glances and grinned at each other. Their car arrived at Concord Building before they could carry on their conversation.

When Ye Yang and Huang Ruobing went up to her office, they were surprised to see Huang Xudong there. His coffee was completely cold now, an indication of how long he had been sitting there, waiting for them to arrive.

“Is there a reason for your visit?” Puzzled by her brother’s appearance, Huang Ruobing asked.

There was a sheepish look on Huang Xudong’s face as he answered, “I’m here to look for… brother-in-law.”

Ye Yang was Huang Ruobing’s acknowledged boyfriend. Previously, Huang Xudong had been skeptical about their relationship so he didn’t converse much with Ye Yang yesterday. Near the end of his visit, while they did speak, it was Ye Yang who spoke the most in their conversation.

For a moment, Huang Xudong didn’t know how to address him so he chose this title to shorten the distance between him and Ye Yang.

Ye Yang was so startled by this that he eyed Huang Xudong cautiously. Yesterday, the man could be best described as a porcupine covered thoroughly in spikes. Today, however, his demeanor was unexpectedly mellow.

This proved that Huang Xudong had thought it through. Judging by that look on his face, Ye Yang deduced that Huang Xudong must’ve heeded his words, so he too, mellowed down. “You don’t have to force yourself to call me that. Just call me Ye Yang.”

Huang Xudong was hesitant but nodded in the end.

“Now, just what business do you have here?” Huang Ruobing was starting to get impatient. Whenever in her office, this woman turned into an actual workaholic so both their presence was affecting her work progress.

However, Huang Xudong was her younger brother and someone whom she had invested quite a lot of effort taking care of. Hence, even if she was annoyed, Huang Ruobing did not immediately chase him out of her workplace.

“I’m here to convey my gratitude.” Huang Xudong had let go of his prejudice so he stopped being fussy. “It’s thanks to brother-in… Brother Ye Yang that I managed to make it out of this disaster.”

Before yesterday, Huang Xudong had never considered the possibility of any of his confidants betraying him. He was caught off guard when they managed to secure evidence, and after Huang Xudong was done taking care of this issue, the post-traumatic feelings overwhelmed him.

Huang Xudong knew that had Ye Yang not urged him, and if he didn’t order an investigation to prove Ye Yang wrong, he might never have suspected his confidants.

It wasn’t an exaggeration to say that Ye Yang had saved his life, and because of this realization, Huang Xudong’s view of Ye Yang had been completely changed.

Initially, Huang Xudong assumed that Ye Yang was just a boy toy his sister had found. But who knew that the man was truly competent. The saying ‘once bitten, twice shy’ was most appropriate for describing Huang Xudong’s situation right now.

Reading between the lines, Ye Yang more or less understood Huang Xudong’s current intentions. After the incident yesterday, this brat was probably hoping to get his help. Setting aside the fact that Huang Xudong had given him a fairly good impression, Ye Yang would still give him a hand because the man was Huang Ruobing’s younger brother.

Hence, Ye Yang was willing to help Huang Xudong.

“I don’t think you’re only here to show your gratitude,” Huang Ruobing suddenly teased.

Huang Xudong put on a sheepish grin. “Haha, yeah. I’m an idiot who doesn’t know where to go from here, but now, don’t I have a brother-in-law who can help me?”

“It’s not like I won’t help you.” Looking at Huang Xudong, Ye Yang realized what an amusing fellow Huang Xudong actually was.

Then, Ye Yang pulled Huang Xudong away as he began to analyze the path he could take from here. “Alright, you actually have a good hand, but in the future, you need to be more cautious…”

“And then, after things are done, you must remain absolutely impartial. Once a person is prejudiced, a weak spot will present itself.”

Ye Yang basically conveyed to him everything he knew. All Huang Xudong needed was to be more proactive in his judgment as a tiny mistake might require him to pay back dearly in folds. Decision-making and analysis were crucial in avoiding such a predicament.

Seeing how the two men have finally dived straight into the topic, Huang Ruobing stopped interrupting them and focused on her work. But for some reason, out of the corner of her eyes, she would keep stealing glances at Ye Yang.

The man was intriguing her more and more.

And soon, with a few simple words from Ye Yang, Huang Xudong’s face appeared as if he had been enlightened with true wisdom and the look in his eyes brightened up quite a bit.

“Sis, Brother Ye Yang, please excuse me while I take care of my subordinates,” Huang Xudong said vigorously before marching out of the office.

“Just who exactly are you?” Huang Ruobing’s curiosity was bugging her so much that she couldn’t resist asking.

Through her eyes, Ye Yang understood what Huang Ruobing was feeling but he answered, “My dad’s a nobody so I’m just a normal human being.”

Ye Yang had answered without hesitation. Yet, with the knowledge and experiences he had accumulated during the loop, Ye Yang could be considered the most remarkable individual on Earth.

But in terms of his background, he had nothing so his answer to Huang Ruobing could be considered the truth.
