Scarlet's Awakening

Chapter 6 - Die now than Suffer later

The Eigeel in Scarlet's memories has been loyal and honest to her ever since he promised to serve her 976 years ago. Also, Sheila can't avoid the Scarlet Order forever. Eventually, she had to face them.

'Then why not right now?' Her subconsciousness suddenly suggested. Sheila grimaced at the reckless suggestion of her other self. She knows that she will surely be killed if she do that.

Her subconsciousness cut her off. 'Well, you don't know that yet.. What if the members of the Order are just like Eigeel, blinded by his devotion towards you that he doesn't suspect you at all?' and added an argument.

Sheila stopped and thought about it. If she takes the risk of meeting the Order and succeeds in fooling them in the end, things would be easier for her in the future.

If not, naturally they will kill her and it'd be a game over for her.

'You already died anyway. If luck is not on your side then it's not bad to die early, right? Better die now than suffer later.'

Sheila sighed against her thoughts. 'Better to die now than to suffer later'? That's a terrible piece of advice! Especially in light of her current situation. The advice sounds more of a ruthless suggestion than a helpful advice.

She doesn't know how to scheme and she obviously doesn't have any plan of action. She just knows she's got a goal, and that is to make the members of the order not to be suspicious of her. What she will do after that will be a question for tomorrow.

Sheila shook her head and cleared her mind. She's still unsure regarding how to successfully execute her wreckless plan. The odds of it that may be 80 to 85 percent against her.

She's neither smart or talent. She's just a small computer café attendant who earns 250 dollars a month! But it's easier to finish this and see where it's going to be. If she's still alive, then 'Yay me!' If not, she's just lift her middle finger to the world for killing her 2 times in a row.

Summoning the most confident voice she could possibly manage, Scarlet / Sheila opened her mouth and said, "Very well, Eigeel. I have always trusted in your wisdom and guidance, kindly assemble all the member of the Scarlet Order in the throne room."

Eigeel nodded right away, the joy on his face was quite obvious.

"As you wish, my queen." He bowed his head and his body vanished in a flash in front of her.

Sheila still can't believe she's in a fantasy world. Her situation has its pros and cons, and apart from the knowledge inside Scarlet's memories, she still had so much more to learn about this world. The memories are limited only to everything about Gehenna since Scarlet never left the realm even until she became Queen.

Apparently Scarlet never left except when she fought enemy soldiers from invading her realm,

Being clueless and ignorant is not the path Sheila wants to take. If she survives the meeting later, she will study the memories of Scarlet and gather information about the other realms since knowledge is power, and time is money, and to keep her neck and head safe, she needs plenty of that.

Not long after Eigeel left, a woman wearing a flowing blue dress barged into her room, nearly smashing the double doors with the shear force of her hands. Behind her, two rows of uniformed maidens followed suit. Each looked pretty in their own way, but none of them could outweigh the charm of the lady wearing the blue dress.

Looking at the woman's face, her blue eyes burned with unmasked rage, desperately looking for someone in the room Then all of a sudden her eyes stopped on Scarlet's standing figure. Her legs started shaking, her mouth gasping in shock.

While their eyes still locked together, the eyes of the woman wearing the blue dress started to water as she took reluctant steps towards Scarlet while holding out her hand.

"Y-Your highness…" she sobbed. "Y-Youre… You're awake!" she cried.

'It looks like she knows me.' Sheila thought.

Frowning, Sheila scanned Scarlet's 500 years worth of memories, searching for information about this woman. After a series of mental images inside her head, she found a match and a profile popped out in front of her face.

This devastatingly beautiful woman is actually Eigeel's little sister!? Why didn't she notice that before? No wonder they look so alike! The blonde hair and blue eyes was an obvious clue.

Sheila cleared her throat, "Eireen." She said softly, giving her a curt nod as a sign of acceptance of her presence in front of her.

The woman wearing the blue dress genuflected in front of Sheila. With tear stained face, she still looked beautiful as she softly smiled. The maids behind her followed after her

"Greetings, my queen." her soft velvet-like voice said, her head humbly looking down to the floor not meeting her eyes.

"Thank you for taking care of the castle in my absence, Eireen. It must've been very tiring for you." she said, trying to sound more like a queen than a modern commoner.

"N-no, no, it was not tiring for me, my queen. In fact, it was my greatest p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e to be able to share your burdens."

Sheila blushed. Not knowing what to reply to that. She looked at the maids who are still kneeling on the floor.

"I have already given orders to your elder brother to meet the other members of the Order later."

Eireen lowered her head, understanding what her master really wanted to say. "I understand," she said, slightly turning her head to the handmaidens, "Prepare the bath of her majesty."

The handmaid's rose and bowed their heads. The one who led them said, "Yes, Lady Eireen... we shall immediately prepare her majesty's tub. Please excuse us."

All the maidens silently left until only Scarlet and Eireen remained.
