Scythe, Sword And Steel

Bullet after bullet came out of Roger's handgun, as he smoked on his cigarette and stepped on it. Lesley, Clint and Layla went forward, to check on the enemies location. Alucard went to his motorcycle with Harith, and they started to run through the battlefield.

"Attack!"

Bullets and more bullets started to rain from the sky. In the process, Granger got shot in the shoulder, and Alucard on his c.h.e.s.t. He fell off the motorcycle as Harith dismounted and continued casting magic spells. Ruby and Gusion got cornered in the area, as more enemies approched.

"Hey Ruby, I know this is crazy but you have to trust me." Gusion whispered.

"What is your crazy plan this time?" she asked.

"You hide on that box and pretend to cry while I go run to Lesley. You got it?"

"Wait, are you going to leave me..."

"Just follow what I say! Get down!"

And Gusion quickly ran towards Lesley as fast as light. Ruby had caused more raiders to get drawn at Ruby's location. As Gusion approached Lesley behind, he grabbed a grenade in her pocket and disappeared.

"Les, I'll borrow this for a moment." he whispered.

"Huh? Ahh! Gusion..."

As the raiders were in position, Gusion quickly picked Ruby up in his back and threw the grenade in the box. Ruby held tight on his hair as he jumped high in the air and landed on a building.

"What was that?" one the raiders asked.

"Whoa! Look out!"

And boom! The grenade blew up almost all the raiders in the area, except for a few. Ruby got down on his shoulders and breathed rapidly.

"What did you just do?" she asked. "I could have died there!"

"No you couldn't. That's what you call baiting!" he said with a wacky smile on his face.

And after that, all the raiders were gone. Some got killed, some escaped. Harith used a medical kit to help Granger and Alucard, who was lying in the floor. Meanwhile, Layla and the others were standing still, confused on what Gusion did.

"Wiping out almost all enemies with a single grenade. I told you Paxleys were smart!" Clint said.

"And she used Ruby as bait. A true assassin and an asshole at the same time." Roger said.

Gusion and Ruby got down onto the ground and ran over to Lesley.

"Tell me Gus, why would you scare the gell out of me during this kind of..."

"Sorry. I just liked to blow up something." Gusion said, scratching his head. "It was the only way to..."

Lesley grabbed Gusion's collar and started to shake him hard. All Ruby could do was laugh as the Lesley harassed Gusion.

"Hey! Stop it! Not my hair!"

"You two are really cute when you do things like that." Ruby said.

"Uhmmm... Ruby? W-What are you talking about?" Lesley asked.

"Oh don't hide it. Your face is red, you're smiling hard, and there's nothing you can do to hide it."

"W-What? No, no, no, I don't!"

"You like him do you?"

"Guys, guys, just stop. Why are you doing this in the middle of nowhere anyway?" Claude asked.

"Hey Claude, why are there so many people trying to kill each other? This isn't even the BATTLE ROYALE." Gusion asked.

"It's the Purge rule." Clint said. "Before all our systems could go offline, the president of the EAM started this Purge thing, legalizing everyone to go and kill each other. The goal of his Purge law was to eliminate Selena, and unfortunately, he made things worse."

"Wait, wait, wait. He made the Purge to fix this? He destroyed the entire city!" Gusion said.

"Laws are laws. People kill each other for resources, supplies and money." Claude said.

"He's right. And other people want artiracts, such as the Twilight Orb that you have."

"Let's just go guys. Dr. Rooney is waiting for us. It's just a several more blocks away." Roger said.

And they followed Roger, who was leading the way. They heard more gunfights and screams as they made their way to the laboratory. The sky was already getting dark, and they had to get there before night falls.
