SHINOBI In A World Of Magic

It was the beginning of the second semester and about 4 months after the incident, Amber had tested her affinity and it came out as fire, and Yohan had become more stricter with his secret training. He had been slacking because he indulged in the loving atmosphere in this world which he had been deprived of in his last life. The first kekkei genkai which he aimed to be able to use was [Wood Release] for it's versatility in healing, defense and offense. To be able to use the kekkei genkai he needed to be proficient with it's constituent elements, namely [Water Release] and [Earth Release]. He was able to use B rank jutsus and with his current output of those jutsus, he is able to contest intermediate tier magic, for now. He was able to use shadow clone jutsu and his chakra reserves are at the early jounin level, he needed more strength to live freely and well with his family.

"Mom! Can we buy me a new weapon?" Amber asked.

"What happened to your last weapon?" Vivian asked back with narrowed eyes. She was making breakfast.

"Well, I was sparring with Leah and it was severed..." Amber confessed. She used a platted tanned leather whip; it wasn't easy to cut one but, not impossible. Magic academies provided weapons but they were standardized and not customizable, only those big magic academies in the capital gave that service to its students, so some students bought their own. There was a weapons market where you can find a variety of ready made weapons, some bound to be close to the student's preferences.

"Oh, that's fine we can also find a weapon for Yohan while we're at it. Call down your Dad and Brother so we can go shopping." Vivian said, she didn't mind since it was the first time Amber damaged her weapon and it was convenient. It was also the weekend, so there were many stalls selling in the market place. They all got ready. They got to the market area, mages were stationed at the entrances and patrolling around. Those mages were hired from the two resident guilds of Hakono. The family came by a quaint shop, it had fairly cheap prices and with cool looking weapons. Amber had spotted a whip, it was red in color and had a pea sized crimson gem embedded into the handle.

"Mom, Dad can I have that whip?" Yohan and Amber's parents looked at the price tag. They had wry smiles; they were well off, even though they were normal people, but the price of $1,200 was enough to make them rethink. Normal being that they don't have enough mana in their mana pools to qualify as mages.

"Let's see what your brother wants to buy first, before deciding." Vincent suggested, "Yohan, take a look around and see what you wish to buy." Vivian and Vincent pushed Yohan. He wandered to the back of the store and found something that he had to have! It was a flat mace, with two conjoined white circles rimmed with black, one circle bigger at the end, it was about as long as an average human's height. It looked similar to a hand held butterfly, however the giveaway was the three tadpoles on each side of the stem where the 'wings' were. It was a Gunbai Uchiwa like the war fan that Madara and Obito used!

"Mom! Dad! I want this!" Yohan said, his parents looked at the odd looking weapon, it didn't have a price tag. They took it to the counter, it was heavier than any normal weapons, they asked for the price. The cashier said it was only $140, since no one showed any interest at all, even the owner of the shop wanted to scrap it. Vincent and Vivian were confused at why Yohan was so excited to get the war fan, but seeing his anticipating face and the small price to see it bloom with a smile they bought it in a heartbeat along with Amber's whip. Yohan hugged the fan with a radiant smile. The contrast between the size of the weapon and Yohan accentuated his already cute self. Vivian and Amber hugged him tightly after seeing such a scene. Yohan was already a lady killer at such a young age. He will definitely be a deadly heart-throb to all women when he is an a.d.u.l.t.

They returned home and Amber went to the backyard to start testing it out. The whip was extremely natural to use for her and it conducted fire magic well.

"Take it easy with your sparring next time okay?" Vivian advised as Amber played around with her whip. Vincent was inside reading a book. While Yohan was in his room staring at his fan. He knew he needed to strengthen his body in order to wield it, so he decided to train the body and swing the fan as well, so he can wield it easily like an extension of his arm. The scene for the next few months were comical, a small kid wielding a war fan about twice his height would earn a snicker or a giggle from anyone who saw it.

(A/N: If you're having trouble on how the mage organization operates, think of Fairy tail. The organization 'Archus' is the magic council of this world and the factions are the various guilds. Also I changed it to just 'guild', since faction means they're more grand and part of a larger group whereas I meant for the 'factions' to operate independently but are overseen by Archus).
