Single Stat System

Chapter 46: A Pity

At first, Sakim had only stolen the upper clothing of the person named Hapon so that he could have physical contact with his body without putting any large movements. With that, he could keep his great acting for being such an expert and left them a terrifying impression.

But who would have thought that this clothing had great stats? Just by sparing a glance at it could only fill him with astonishment. It would really be much better if he had stolen every piece of equipment of those four. With that, he could become a lot more stronger in one fell swoop. It really was just a pity that he didn't harbor such thoughts a while ago and was in a hurry to stay away from them.

But thinking about it more rationally, Sakim thought that if he tried to steal every piece of equipment of the other party, they would surely not let him go. If in worse they retaliated against him while he was on it, then who knew what kind of danger would he face that time. Sakim nodded his head as he presumed that it was highly likely to happen.

But then again, how could he know if he didn't try? It had to be known that just by the way they acted, those four were noticeably afraid of him. If he at least asked them to give all of their equipment, then perhaps, they would give them to him willingly in exchange for their life. It really was a kind of regretful that he didn't try to rob them. Sakim could only shake his head slowly before sighing deeply again in regrets.

From the looks of it, stealing items from the other Players in this world was much more convenient compared to waiting for the monsters he'd slain to drop some kind of equipment. Just thinking about it could only make his greed be ignited as he wanted to steal more and more. He should really have emptied their pockets before letting them go.

But wait!

Sakim suddenly shook his head and slapped both his cheeks with both hands. He'd just realized that he was becoming more and more like the person in his past life. A person full of desires, a person full of greed. That just because he wanted to get something, he would try his best even if it was taking away from others. Just what had gotten onto him now?

Sakim then took a deep breath to calm his state of mind. He already told himself many times that he would turn into a new leaf. But why the hell was he becoming the same person as before? Was he really made to become greedy? Was the word greed etched deeply in his blood, bones, flesh, soul, and to his very genes? Sakim was saddened just by the thought of it.

At that moment, Sakim raised his hand at a chest level as he stared at his palm. It appeared that the more he used his passive skill: Greed, the more greedy he became. It was as if it was turning him slowly into a monster that he used to be in the past. What should he do now? Should he still continue using this passive skill that appeared to be a ticking bomb?

Contemplating deeply about his current predicament, Sakim couldn't help but lament. He unwittingly shifted his gaze at the blue sky and saw an eagle trying to go against the wind.

Going against the wind?

Sakim suddenly thought of something as he couldn't help but smile. Indeed, the birds were made with wings to fly. But eagles were made to topple over the clouds. While the strong wind prevented the little ones to fly high, eagles were not afraid as the strong wind could only be their strength.

And Sakim, a person made to be like an eagle, wasn't afraid to go against fate. If this greed was trying to slowly turn him into a monster, then he should just tame this monster and used it for his own good.

As for the way how he should do it, Sakim had a thought in his mind. And later, when he was given a chance, he would surely try it out.

With that in mind, Sakim chased away all the worries in his heart as he finally breathed a sigh of relief. He then stared at the hologram screen in front of him as he smiled then again.

[Dancing Wind]

Level: 58

HP: +3,300

Movement speed: +880

Movement speed: +5.8%

Dodge: +7.9%

• Wind Dance (Special) - For 30 seconds, increase the Movement speed by 2,900 and Dodge chance by 29%. (Cooldown: 30 hours)

What a good item! Sakim couldn't hide his happiness at all especially upon seeing that this item was also Legendary rank equipment just like his [Ring Of Immortality]. It also gave a lot of HP making him even more happy. If he wore this item now, then surely, his HP would then again shot up.

"Dancing Wind, equip." Without further delay, Sakim ordered the System hurriedly. Not only this item could give him a huge amount of HP, but it could also give him a huge boost to his speed. Running away from some kind of danger wouldn't be a problem anymore.

[Level is too low.]

But then, his eyes widened in shock when he saw a window notification popping out on the screen. And right after that, Sakim had immediately frowned. "Damn it! Curse this level restriction!"

Level 58? Sakim read again the level of the item as he couldn't help but deepen his frown. Just when would be the time that he would reach that level for him to wear this item? He already thought that he had a good harvest this time, but who would have expected that this good item was way too good for him. Too good that he wasn't qualified of wearing it. It really was a kind of depressing.

And since this clothing had a level restriction, then surely, the dagger he had just stolen was just the same, right? If that was the case, then, he still didn't have any good weapon to use, right? Sakim felt like he was been tricked this time.

Tsk! Tsk! No matter how many times Sakim clicked his tongue, it only spelled disappointment. Helpless, he looked at the stats of the dagger he had stolen hoping for a miracle and sure enough, there was no miracle. Although it was only an orange item (Epic rank), its level was still too high for him.

[Tagapaslang]

Level: 64

Attack: +1,777

Bleed: +50% chance.

Critical damage: +10%

• Critical Blow (Elite) - Attack made from behind has 90% Critical chance and +120% Critical damage. (Cooldown: 1 hour)

When Sakim saw the stats, he could only sigh again deeply. It really was a pity that he wasn't able to use such a beautiful weapon because of this damned restriction. At best, he could only stare at this item in his Stolen Inventory.

In any case, since there was nothing he could do against it, Sakim looked at the HP he had stolen from Hapon. At that time when he stole his HP, Sakim wasn't focused enough since his attention was stolen by the other party's stats especially when he saw his level. That being said, Sakim didn't know how much HP did he steal from him. All he knew was that while he was on it, he stopped halfway so to avoid stealing the other party's whole life and ended up killing him. He was afraid that if he did so, the other party's teammates would surely make a move against him out of anger and desperation. It had to be known that even a trapped dog knew how to bite back.

And if they really make a move against Sakim, and considered him as a threat to their life, the other party would definitely give their all to fight him. If that happened, then surely, Sakim had no way of fighting back. One must know as well that all of them were way too fast to the point that his eyes could only barely catch their after image.

And since that was the case, it only needed one move for them and Sakim had no way of protecting himself. Just what kind of predicament did he just escape not long ago? Sakim could only feel relief this time.

So then, the status window of the HP he had stolen was now being displayed on the hologram screen projection.

[Human HP]

• Restore 12,566

Human HP? Not Hapon HP? Sakim slightly frowned. But knowing that it didn't affect the item considerably, Sakim didn't care that much. What he was astonished about right now was how large the amount of HP did he stolen from the other party. It appeared that his passive skill: Greed was really deadly. If he wanted to, he could claim the other party's life using this passive skill with ease.

In this world, and with this passive skill, Sakim was as if a child who was given a gun. That although he was weak, with a gun on hand, even adults needed to be wary against him if they didn't want to die.

After thinking about his gain this time for some time, Sakim dismissed the System. He then shifted his gaze to the road ahead as he started to step forward. There were still a lot of things he needed to do. Sakim thought that he should hurry himself to go to the beginner's village already.
