Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

268 267: First Tribulation Of Hell; World Of Glass

"Black Star?"

Seeing the new name given to his attributes, Corey could not help but be dazed at first, baffled next, then finally, be excited.

"Now it actually feels like I've maximized my stats."

"But the difference…"

Corey mumbled as he looked at his status screen.

He stood, then he performed a series of kicks and punches.

Initially, he took it slow since he was not used to his new strength. But as he kept on performing the kicks and punches described in the Paragon Martial Arts, he got more familiar with his new strength.

Whoosh!

Corey eventually stopped after kicking upwards with a tremendous force.

He slowly placed his leg back to the ground with an excited expression.

"Incredible."

Corey smiled, then he clenched his fist.

"I have a feeling I can defeat a low leveled tier 3 with ease."

"Maybe, I can even give a mid leveled tier 3 a run for their money."

Corey chuckled.

He was getting stronger.

Much stronger.

And, he absolutely loved it.

A few seconds passed, and the smile on Corey's face slowly vanished. He looked up, and an extremely solemn expression appeared on his face.

"I just hope my guess is wrong."

Corey spoke softly, then he sighed.

The solemnness in his eyes was replaced by determination.

An unyielding determination to survive.

"How do I activate the tribulation of hell?"

[You don't activate the tribulations of hell. You summon-]

[You know what, just say the word- Hell]

Corey raised his brows in surprise as he heard Nina's words.

"Haven't I been saying it a lot?"

Corey questioned with a skeptical tone.

Ever since he knew he would have to face the tribulations of hell to get promoted to a new tier, he couldn't count the number of times he had said the word- Hell.

But now, Nina was telling him that to summon the tribulation of hell, he had to just say the word- Hell.

Was she playing prank on him?

Corey could not help but be suspicious.

[Just do as I say you fool.]

Nina spoke with visible annoyance and dissatisfaction in her tone.

Corey shrugged, and he decided to follow her instructions.

It's not like he knew how to summon the tribulation of hell.

"Hell."

The instant the word- Hell, escaped Corey's lips, time froze inside the Evolution Center and the entire Underworld.

Corey's expression still retained the skepticism he had when he said the word.

The portal at the center of the evolution center stopped rotating.

The guard who had a relieved expression since his shift was almost over was frozen.

Calista who was reading an ancient looking book also froze.

Divine, Rosa, Fatty Black Bonez, Dave, Triple X and Melissa froze in whatever activities they were performing.

Though, some of their positions were strange.

If one observed Dave, they would notice that although Dave was frozen, his gaze was in the direction of the inner Evolution Center.

Every individual, no matter the power they wielded were frozen by the unseen force that emerged after Corey invoked the tribulation of hell.

A strange sound emerged at the top of the evolution center, and a golden eye appeared in the sky of the Underworld.

The way the eye appeared made it seem like it had always been there, but it was not just not seen.

It was strange, and extremely unnerving.

The sclera and iris of the eye was golden, but the pupil of the eye was red.

If a mortal or even some tier 4s and tier 5s looked into the eye, they would experience unimaginable pain and horrors.

The eye blinked, and when it did, a dark red lightning bolt soared towards Corey.

In less than a picosecond, the dark red lightning landed on Corey.

Corey remained in the same position he was in with zero injuries, and the eye vanished.

Though, every living being was still frozen in time.

(In an Unknown Place)

Corey had an aghast expression as he looked at the scenery before him.

In front of him was a world of glass and mirrors.

A straight, narrow and seemingly endless road stretched out before him. Common sense should have said that the glass would reflect light, but that was not the case.

The glass road was dark, so dark to the point that if not because of the light in the glass world, Corey would have never noticed that the surface he stood upon was made out of glass.

Speaking of light, Corey looked up, but saw nothing but a mirror filled sky.

No source of light could be seen.

He looked away from the sky which gave him a bad feeling, and he looked at his sides.

By the sides of the narrow and seemingly endless glass road were majestic large-sized mirrors. The mirrors possessed no frame, making it look simplistic, and oddly unnerving.

'This is the world I saw in the vision.'

'I killed myself in this world.'

'I failed to pass the tribulation.'

As Corey observed the world which had been his nightmare for days, a stream of information entered his mind from out of nowhere.

Corey's eyes went blank for a second, then his expression went back to normal.

"Reach the end of the glass path without destroying a single mirror."

Corey repeated the information he received with a frown.

He pondered on the information given to him for some seconds, then he released a soft sigh.

"I wouldn't die no matter what."

"I'll change my fate."

A determined glint appeared in his eyes, and he took a step forward.

Corey did not know what he was going to face as he tried to reach the end of the glass road.

He didn't know how difficult it was meant to be. But, one thing he knew was that mortals were not meant to face the tribulations of hell.

Especially, a mortal like him who was tier 1 and possessed zero knowledge regarding Hell and their tribulations.

Although, he didn't know what he was going to face, he decided to make one decision.

To not look at the mirrors by the side of the road no matter what.

He even had the idea of closing eyes, but he felt like he would deeply regret it if he did.

Just as Corey was about to take another step on the glass road, he felt the mirror to his right change.

It was an extremely subtle change, but due to his high perception, he noticed it.

He wanted to ignore it, but to his horror a force which he could not resist turned his head towards the mirror.

He looked at the mirror, and he saw his reflection on the mirror.

The reflection smiled, and Corey's eyes went blank.
