"Oi! Oi! Oi! Can you slow the fuck down?!"

"Why? Can't keep up?"

"I'm injured. You know that very well, you petty bastard!"

"Oh? I do?"

Some meters away from a taxi rank was a scene that could be described as comical to the twisted and pitiful to the faint-hearted.

Two men of unique and outstanding qualities had a conversation that should not be weird or funny in normal circumstances. But when one looked at the conditions of both men, he or she would realize why the conversation was either funny or pitiful.

The more notable man had a pair of dual-colored eyes that could mesmerize mortals, mystics, and even immortals alike. His physique could be described as the perfect physique for wars and battles.

As he walked in the direction of the taxi rank with his hands in his pockets, he inadvertently attracted gazes from people around him due to his extraordinary features.

Behind him was another man, who, although had unique qualities like a pair of dual-colored eyes like the first man, his state could only be described as pitiful and bloody.

Donning a tattered and bloodied T-shirt and trousers, the man exuded a putrid and bloody odor, and on the exposed parts of his body were lacerations, visible bones, and toes without nails.

It was obvious he was trying to catch up to the first man, but the struggle and pain he was going through could be seen from the way he limped and groaned at the same time.

Although the man's state was pitiful, the other man with dual-colored eyes showcased no sign of sympathy. In fact, his dual-colored eyes contained a tinge of satisfaction

He was not the only one. The other people watching the duo also had satisfied and even mocking expressions.

Nobody came to help or assist the injured man, and the injured man was not bothered. Though, he was pissed, frustrated, and in pain.

A lot of pain.

"Alright, Alright. I'm sorry for making fun of you!"

"Can you just slow the fuck down!"

The injured man pleaded with a frustrated tone and expression, but the other man did not bother stopping.

His hands remained in his pockets, and he kept on walking at a speed that he was sure the injured man would not be able to catch up to.

"Gambare Gambare. You can do it Divine."

Corey mockingly spoke, and Divine cursed out loud and tried to catch up to Corey, but he failed… miserably.

"Fuck you, you petty virgin bitch!"

Divine shouted while giving Corey his two middle fingers, and when the crowd heard his words, they all looked at Corey strangely.

A man with all of that was still a virgin?

Corey stopped, and then he turned around slowly. He looked straight into Divine's eyes, and a smile appeared on his face.

Divine had a bad feeling seeing the smile. He coughed softly, and with a harmless smile, he said:

"Sorry about that. Can you slow down a bit?"

Corey's smile widened slightly, and without saying anything, he turned around and kept on walking. However, his pace was noticeably slower.

Despite Corey accepting his pleas and request, Divine did not dare catch up to Corey, and with a foreboding feeling in his heart, he just walked a few meters behind Corey.

'I've fucked up big time, haven't I?'

Divine released a sigh, and he scratched his head.

'He wouldn't be so petty and take revenge, right?'

------

After walking for a few more minutes, they finally reached the taxi rank.

Corey looked around, and just as he was about to enter a random cab, to his surprise, he caught sight of a familiar face.

The person also noticed him, and a surprised light flashed in his eyes. He waved at Corey, and then he walked over to the duo.

"Fancy seeing you here again so quickly."

Corey observed the man who spoke with his eyes glinting with a suspicious light.

"Who is this?"

Divine, who had been keeping a distance from Corey due to the ominous feeling he had, spoke.

He observed the man, and he noticed that aside from the dark circles under the man's eyes, which depicted a lack of sleep and exhaustion, there was nothing noteworthy about the man.

He had an average face, not too handsome and not too ugly. He had black hair and he wore a blue T-shirt and a black trouser, along with a pair of black and brown shoes.

"He's a taxi driver. He drove me to the central hub."

Corey replied, and Divine raised his brows.

"I didn't expect to see you here. I thought you stayed in the other taxi rank."

Corey faced the taxi-driver and looked at him with a slightly suspicious light.

"Oh. We get shuffled, and it just so happens that I was shuffled to this place."

The taxi driver briefly explained, and Corey raised his brows. He nonchalantly shrugged, and then he glanced at Divine before shifting his gaze back to the taxi driver.

"We're going to the main gate. We want to go to the inner area."

Divine quickly spoke, and before the taxi driver could respond, he quickly entered the car and sat on the front passenger seat. He had a bad feeling when he saw Corey giving him a brief glance, and he wanted nothing more than to leave the central area and Corey.

He preferred a raging Corey over an indifferent Corey.

An indifferent Corey was scary.

Corey shook his head when he saw Divine's cowardly and decisive behavior. When he glanced at him, he was thinking of tying Divine to the roof of the taxi driver's cab. But unfortunately, Divine was decisive and cowardly.

'It doesn't matter. I'll be patient and have my revenge. And I'll make sure it's one he never forgets.'

Corey thought as he entered the cab and sat in the back seat.

The taxi driver looked at Corey and Divine strangely, then he shook his head and walked to the driver's seat.

'What a strange duo. Are they a couple?'

The driver thought, then he entered his cab, and without saying a word, he started the ignition, and the trio drove off.
