BAM!

Cough!

As Corey was slammed into the wall, he coughed out a mouthful of saliva. The wall was much harder than Corey anticipated and that made him frown slightly.

His ears rang once again, and without wasting a second, he jumped forward.

Slash!

Slash!

Two slashes appeared in Corey's previous position, and Corey, who just dodged a fatal strike, quickly jumped to the side once again.

Bang!

Corey glanced at his previous spot, and he saw a bolt. His gaze shifted to a glowing symbol on the bolt and his eyes widened.

Corey quickly erected his hexagon barrier, and for a moment, there was only silence.

Then, with a deafening roar, the bolt detonated in a blinding flash of light and a concussive wave of force. The air erupted with shards of debris and billowing clouds of smoke as the explosion tore through the surroundings with unforgiving fury.

Flames danced and licked hungrily at everything in its surroundings. Corey, who was expecting to be blown away with lethal injuries and burns, was surprised when he saw a flaming armored individual standing in front of him.

"Using flames to harm my friend while I'm here? Quite foolish of you ain't it."

Divine nonchalantly spoke as he stood in front of Corey with folded arms. The flames around them danced and flowed like water.

'Flames can flow like water?' Corey was baffled.

"Yo."

Corey looked at Divine.

"Are you sure you can handle them? It seems like you're having your ass raped by three grown-ass men."

A vein popped on Corey's forehead, and Corey softly sighed.

"Shut up and take care of all the flame attacks."

Corey stood and, with a deep frown, gazed at his sides.

He was currently facing a dilemma.

Although Corey could locate the exact positions of Erik and Raphael through his Eyes of Dreams and Nightmares and Ears of Omniscience, Corey could not see their actual bodies.

Whenever he got attacked, he only saw a cloud of dreams and nightmares attacking him. He was not able to see the weapon or skill that was used to attack him, and this gave him a lot of problems.

His Ears of Omniscience gave him the ability to hear the sounds of their bodies and attacks. But, this did not make it easy whenever he was attacked by Erik, Raphael, and… the taxi driver.

The solution to his current dilemma was an extremely simple one. But, if possible, Corey would prefer not to use it.

Whoosh.

Corey's ears picked up the sound of a large object moving through the air at a fast speed. Corey looked to his right, and a confused expression appeared on his face.

He could no longer find the cloud of dreams and nightmares of one. His eyes rapidly moved, and he caught sight of a rapidly moving shadow coming towards him.

Corey quickly jumped backward, and just as he did, countless sharp and black projectiles emerged from the moving shadow.

Before Corey could even make a move, he felt bloodlust behind him, and he knew that an attack was coming his way.

'Fuck it!.'

Corey cursed, and in the next moment, his eyes became purely white, and he also used the skill, Focus.

'Dreamfire.'

Flames emerged on his dual battle axes, and Corey sent out a slash toward the shadow projectiles.

The moment Corey's flames were unleashed, surprise, bafflement, and shock were the prevalent emotions in every individual present.

The taxi driver was surprised.

Erik, Raphael, and Ariana were baffled since they had never heard of Corey's ability to use flames.

Divine was absolutely shocked since he realized something special about Corey's flames. Fascination and intrigue could be seen in Divine's eyes as he gazed at Corey's flames.

The appearance of dreamfire was much, much different than that of ordinary flames.

Dreamfire, when unleashed, manifests as a mesmerizing display of ethereal flames that dance and flicker with a surreal luminescence. Unlike ordinary fire, dreamfire emits a soft, iridescent glow, casting shifting hues of azure, violet, and silver that seem to ripple and flow like liquid light.

The flames themselves appear almost weightless, gently undulating and curling in intricate patterns that resemble wisps of smoke. They exude an aura of tranquility and mystique, captivating all who behold them with their otherworldly beauty.

Despite its spectral appearance, dreamfire possesses an intense, albeit controlled, heat that can be both soothing and destructive. It is capable of burning with a spectral intensity that can pierce through magical barriers and mundane defenses alike, leaving behind a faint scent of exotic flowers and a lingering sensation of peace and wonder.

Although, dreamfire was not weak in its offensive properties, dreamfire was extremely effective when used against creatures or objects of darkness and entities that dwell in the realm of dreams and nightmares.

Corey was not entirely sure if dreamfire would be able to have an effect on things related to shadows. But, he could sense a dense amount of nightmare energy from the shadow spikes.

Luckily, the dreamfire worked like a charm on the shadow spikes. The shadow spikes melted like snow under a hot sun and Corey was relieved.

But his relief was cut short when he sensed danger coming at his front.

Click

He heard the sound of an object flying through the air at an extremely fast speed, and Corey quickly placed his axes in front of him.

Clang!

The sound of metal hitting metal resounded, and Corey groaned due to the force of the bolt that was launched at him. His body landed on the floor, and he rolled multiple times before coming to a stop.

Click

He heard the same familiar sound, and annoyance flashed in his eyes.

Lightning sparks appeared on his body, and in the blink of everybody's eye…

FLASH!

CLAP!

The loud sound of a thunderclap shook the walls, and the taxi driver, who was just about to fire another bolt from his crossbow at Corey, froze.

His entire being screamed and shook in immense fear and danger, and when he blinked, he saw two pure white eyes some inches away from him.

"You reek of so much fear. Do you fear me... Ant?"

Corey's voice sounded deep, ancient, primal, and almost demonic as he looked into the eyes of the taxi driver.

As the taxi driver gazed into Corey's eyes, he saw three things that he could not comprehend.

He saw Corey having three different types of eyes.

Corey's pure white eyes which made the taxi driver feel like he was looking at everything.

Corey's light blue and deep violet eyes showed him his deepest and unknown dreams and nightmares.

And, a golden triangular pupil which seemed like it was the eyes of time and space itself.

These three different eyes the taxi driver saw happened in just one second, and his mind could not comprehend what he had just seen.

While he was in a daze, Corey glanced at the taxi driver's right arm which was holding his weapon, the crossbow. Without hesitation, Corey swung his arm, and a lean and skinny arm flew.

The daze the taxi driver was in was dispelled, and confusion was the first thing he felt before it changed to pain.

A lot of pain.

"Arghhhhhh!!!!!"

The taxi driver screamed as he held his bleeding stump. Corey's eyes bore only apathy as he gazed at the screaming taxi driver, and just as he raised his arm to behead the taxi driver, thin wires appeared around the taxi driver, and he was dragged far away from Corey.
