Slayer Of Babylon

Chapter 17 - Inside the Ruin

Sorry guys. I had to go to the hospital with my grandma so I can't use my computer at the moment. She is okay, but she has to rest, so I am taking care of her.

I wrote this chapter on my phone, so there could be some wrong words or the chapter might be worse then what I've imagined.

Now, I have to wait two more days. After this ends and I'll be sure my grandma is okay. I try to release mass chapters.

"Damn it!" yelled Eric. He and Stone were running from Vulcans while the sky tried to kill them. 'Tempest should've fought hard,' he thought. 'It seems it ended though.'

Soon after the fight ended they have reached to the ruins. Ruins were looking a little different then he expected. There was just a building that seems to have a door big enough to Stone's pass, yet something was off. The ruins gave you some bad feelings. As if it was saying that 'go away,' or to be more specific, it was more like 'F.u.c.k OFF,' feeling.

"Okay, Stone. You can put me down," said Eric, then Stone put him down. Eric looked at his surroundings. 'It seems Vulcans do not come here,' he thought. "Well, consider the feeling the ruin gives, I can understand that," he said the last part with a sarcastic voice.

"Guraah?" said Stone with a confused voice while looking to the ruin cautiously.

"Nothing," said Eric with a smile. "Come on! We have to go there, big guy," as he slowly hit Stone's leg.

"Graugh," said Stone with a nod. His eyes were still looking the ruin cautiously. Eric saw that.

"Okay, Stone. I can understand, but we have to," said Eric with a smile. "Come on, we can have a feast when we go back," he added.

Stone's eyes suddenly sparkled and started to droll. Eric sighed with a smile and walked towards the door with Stone.

The door made of stones. Stones were mossy and looked like at least a millennium old. It had two-part, and a three and hourglass carved on it each part.

When Eric and Stone came closer to the door, some runes appeared all over on the door while shining with blue light. Runes shined brightly then Eric felt the door's pressure. It was sudden and brief, but enough to scare Stone again.

Stone took a deep breath and looked at Eric. Eric felt his gaze but pay no mind. He went closer, and the chilling feeling started to arise as he went closer.

He placed his hand to the door. Runes shined with more light, and with a sudden, they lighted off. Earth began to Quake, and runes made a chamber around Stone and Eric. A single rune appeared on Eric's and Stone's feet. It shined yellow and other runes started to connect with it.

'Okay, what the f.u.c.k?' thought Eric while Stone tried to look brave. Runes started the roll but the rune that below them was still the same.

After a certain amount of time later, the door's runes shined again, but this time it didn't give a feeling. The door started to crack apart. They flew to all directions, but they were floating while all of them had the same rune on them.

Eric shocked at first, but he calmed himself down.

"So, it's open now. Okay, let's go," said Eric as he walked to the entrance with Stone. As soon as they enter the ruin, they saw stairs that go down to the ground.

It was dark and silent. Eric looked at the surroundings, but he didn't saw a torch, let alone something to make a light. 'No one came here for a while I guess,' thought Eric, then stepped to the stairs. When he stepped one, runes activated and each side of the stair glowed blue light. 'Guess I might be wrong.'

When they finished the stairs, they saw a hallway. Countless pillars were supporting the room from falling while light cannot brighten the entire hallway. Behind the pillars were dark and cold, and a brown path on the ground. It seems another door was waiting for them at the end of the path.

Eric took a step. When he reached halfway to the door, he heard a voice.

"Auughh," a silent voice.

Eric quickly made a chant. "Light Pillars!" he said with a husky voice, and bright yellow light pillars ripe the ground. They stood there firmly as they brighten enough to see what was the sound.

"Zombies?" said Eric with a confusing look. "Goah," said stone with a nod as he narrowed his eyes to the zombies.

Behind the dark, hundreds of zombies were looking at them. Their bodies started to rotten, and sone of them didn't have several limbs. Even though humans were the majority, there were other species, such as; Bears, lions, Vulcans, griffons.

Eric panicked now. He remembered Irene told him that zombies cannot be killed. He had to cripple them to stop them, or he had to kill the caster.

Eric considered the possibilities and concluded. "Okay, Stone. We have to be silent. They seem to be quiescent mode," he said with a husky voice. "We will eventually fight them, but I rather fight to caster instead of an immortal army," he added.

Stone nodded and they slowly walk towards the door. As soon as Stone tried to push the door, the door fell. It made a huge sound and cracked several pieces.

Eric look Stone with a frown, and Stone looked at him while stretching his head's back, then they heard.

"Auughh!" they heard cries.

"Well, f.u.c.k," said Eric and red portals started to open. Stone bowed to Eric as an apology. He looked at the army and roared. "Guaaarrrrhh!" He rushed towards them with full force and split them apart.

'I guess I saw a similar thing on the magi,' though Eric and shot them with his weapons that enchanted(Irene's spell) and strengthened with water magic.

"Let's hope we made it out alive," was all he can say at that time.
