Shen Luoyu was 16 when she died.

It came fast and quick, and she was dead before she had any time to think about it. She had been at the mall shopping looking for a nice gift for her mother when dozens of people with guns in their hands started firing blindly. She hadn't even started panicking before she was hit with a bullet straight through her heart.

Later on, when the news would report about the shooting, Shen Luoyu's parents would find out that their beloved daughter was killed along with 32 other people. Even if she was the victim, even if she died a tragic terrible death, in the end, she was just another name on a list of casualties, the only people mourning for her for a long amount of time would be her family.

In her 16 years of life, Shen Luoyu had lived a perfectly average life. She didn't make trouble for her parents and went to school diligently and studied hard. She wasn't the best but she was above average in all areas. She didn't have much talent in anything else other than that.

If Shen Luoyu had lived she would have become like any other average Chinese citizen. She would have followed her parent's footsteps and become a white-collared worker, later on, she would settle down and get married, and sooner or later have a child.

If Shen Luoyu had not died she would have continued to live a perfectly normal average life.

But, Shen Luoyu died.

Suddenly her average future was no longer average.
