Supreme Emperor of Mist

Chapter 213: Pain?

"Urgh!" a soldier in Bronze Dragon Unit's uniform was coughing blood while he's crawling on the ground. There was a sword still stabbed on his back.

"Wh - Why? We're both people of the Country of Wei... Why are you doing this to me?" the soldier asked. From how it looks, the two seem to be an acquaintance.

"Brother... You can't blame me. What I am doing here is for the sake of our Country of Wei. I feel sad as well for having to deliver this killing blow using my own hand." the other guy said. The clothing belonged to an Evil Infant Sect's disciple was seen on him after he took the soldier's uniform off.

"Evil Infant Sect... You're someone from Evil Infant Sect... It's my mistake... I shouldn't trust you when you said you're just a rogue cultivator without a sect." the soldier shook his head. It was too late for him to regret right now.

"Hahaha... Looks like... This is as far as I can go. I'm sorry, Milady... This useless servant will leave first." the Bronze Dragon Unit's soldier crawls until he leaned on a tree. After making sure that he speaks out all his final words, the soldier shut his eyes.

"Luckily, I managed to finish him before he gets out of this place. There won't be anyone bringing the message to the Genius General of Warfare." the disciple from Evil Infant Sect whispered as he searched the dead soldier's body.

After taking the scroll out from the soldier's chest pocket, the disciple burns the message through the Spiritual Qi he converted into Yang Flame.

But what he has no clue about is the message was not as simple as he thought.

The entire scroll was actually made from a specific material from a Yao Beast. An undiscerning smell immediately spreads unnoticed from the Evil Infant Sect disciple as he returned to the battlefield in a hurry.

By the time the smell reaches the younger cubs of the Yao Beast tamed by the Genius General of Warfare's soldier, it went crazy.

"Captain!" a soldier entered a tent with a Yao Beast Cage in his hand.

"What's wrong? What happened to the Sulfuric Fur Fox cub?" the captain asked. Behind him was a map hanging on the tent's wall, indicating the entire area covered by their forces.

From the look of it, it seems that the entire western area of the Country of Wei is under Peng Likun's supervision. More than ten dragon heads were positioned from the top west to the lower west, except where the Kuanglei Province is.

"Looks like someone destroyed one of our dragon unit's signature sulfuric scroll. Shall I send someone to search for the culprit?" the soldier asked.

"Go ahead. Make sure that you... General!" the captain was going to instruct the soldier on what to do. But before he finished his words, the curtain into his tent was lifted open.

Peng Yan's father, Peng Likun, had made his appearance to one of the smaller army bases under his jurisdiction.

"The captain of Fire Dragon Unit, Tian Hong Gang, greets the general!" the captain kneeled on a knee as he lifted his cupped fists together while facing Peng Likun.

"At ease, soldier. This general is here not as an officer but as a father today. I am here to pick my daughter because of what happened between the Kuanglei Province and Yunshan Province."

"Have my daughter reaches the camp?" Peng Likun smiled.

But his smile soon turned into a sour expression after he noticed the Sulfuric Fur Fox went crazy inside the cage.

"Did something happened?" he asked.

"Reporting to the general, the young lady is yet to arrive at our base yet. Her escort, the Bronze Dragon Unit, is also yet to return from their visit to Kuanglei Province." the captain said.

"Based on my understanding of my daughter, she's not someone to be irresponsible in time and military order. How long has the Bronze Dragon Unit went?" Peng Likun asked.

"And that beast. What direction is it howling at? When did this annoyance happen?" he added.

"General, the best went crazy a moment ago. We were about to send a small squad to take a look. As for that direction... It should be between the Kuanglei and Yunshan Province." the captain immediately answered.

"Is there any unit that was dispatched from the base?" Peng Likun asked.

"No, general. Except for her ladyship's escort, the Bronze Dragon Unit." the captain immediately added.

"Move all available soldiers to the Kuanglei Province's border. This is an order." Peng Likun's expression becomes ugly as he gets more and more worried about his daughter.

In a split second, the tent was taken apart from the inside. By the time all the wreckages settled on the ground, the general and the two female escorts by the side were no longer around.

...

...

...

"My young master... Something seems to be wrong with Peng Yan." Lu Qing Yun said as she shyly turned her head away from Qin Lan.

"Aargh!" she trembled slightly as Qin Lan pressed his hand harder on her arm that turning green and blue from taking Peng Yan's kick. There's only both of them were inside this tent right now.

"Pain?" Qin Lan squinted his eyes while glaring at Lu Qing Yun. Although he knew that both of them had their fault, Lu Qing Yun ended up as the unlucky one first as she was caught by Qin Lan immediately when he arrived at the battlefield.

As for Peng Yan, he'll give her a proper lesson to fight between one another.

"No..." Lu Qing Yun turned her head down as she bit her lower lips.

"Continue. What's wrong with Peng Yan that you said? Are you sure it's not because you're angry with her battling against us?" Qin Lan asked. Although it came as a shock to him that Peng Yan was the general of the opposition force, there's nothing much for him to be angry about.

After all, he belonged to the Wu, and she belonged to the Wei. Before love, the responsibility as a citizen of the country always comes first. This was in their blood.

Unless... After Peng Yan became his woman.
