System: Challenge

Chapter 5 - Without You

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Currently, Settia was standing a bit behind his master who was signing paperwork.

Before positioning himself there, he was able to assess his master's face but nothing showed in his data. Neither could the system give a definite answer.

His master was an anomaly that was disrupting his plans.

He didn't know what his master's use of him was, and he also did not know his master's general information; including his name.

Settia was told to address him as master, and he was glad it wasn't something out of the norm.

He really couldn't be told to call him daddy or any of those kinky titles.

Excluding when they're doing nightly activities.

Ai is a bis.e.x.u.a.l soul, what about it?

Plus, his master is one handsome eye-candy.

He has skin a chocolate hue while his eyes a warm honey dew. His lips seem like he already kissed another, yet Ai knows for sure he has yet to find a lover.

His jaw is sharp and strong, like his eyes which looks at Ai sharp but not for long. A chiseled nose, a carved nose, his curly hair the color of Earth. His master seemed like afallen diety, living with the mortals on this despondent world.

Oggling at his master a bit more, Settia decided it was time to plan out his game.

Or more specifically, the fastest way to complete his missions.

He wanted to go back to his original world.

He was the only one who could take care of those lovely little shits—

"Settia, give me all the data you have on DALV," Settia's master did not even glance at him, much less look away from his paper.

'So much for planning...'

"Master, please pardon me, but no one has the authority to check someone else's data."

"Just do it," he demanded.

"Master—"

"Come over here." Settia's master called him over for intentions Settia did not know.

"Now—" when Settia was close enough, his master pulled him by the nape, his touch going lower on his back until his master abruptly stopped, carelessly c.a.r.e.s.sing his off button— "do you feel this? You're smart enough to know what I'll do without needing an explanation."

If Settia's humane tendencies stayed and hadn't been reduced, he would have been shaking all over.

His master was touching a s.e.n.s.i.t.i.v.e part of his android body.

Luckily, he was programmed to be null of emotions.

And, truly, it was one of the things you can differentiate an android between a human; their emotions—lack thereof—and their shut down button.

Not that it was the only thing the button was able to do, but it was more commonly known for its use to shut down an android than anything else.

"If I do this—" the master tampered with his button, evidently having hands-on experience with the mechanism— "and...finished."

Whatever his master did, it sent electric currents to Settia's mainframe. "If I may ask, master, what did you do?"

Internally, because his master tampered with his off button, he was shivering and stuttering. It was more pain than p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e; honestly, whoever said that sooner or later the pain would fade and it'll be overcome by p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e is a full-on M.

"Disappointing." Settia's master, who had resumed to working on his papers, glanced at him in the corner of his eyes. "Process every data on DALV. Give me a printed report—" pointing towards a desk, his master said, "that desk is yours to use."

Right away, Settia sat on a black leather chair adjacent to the desk endowed with office supplies, including a data processor, and typed all data he had on DALV.

Realistically, Settia would not have known what to write if he didn't have Infinite Knowledge.

Heck, the plotline did not say anything about his master nor about DALV. He didn't know DALV existed right before his master said it.

'F.u.c.k me. There's a high probability of plot inconsistencies. Or, if not inconsistencies, sub-plots.'

Ai internally g.r.o.a.n.e.d.

When Settia finished printing the papers, he passed the measly one page to his master who immediately read it, not wasting even a millisecond.

Settia just now realized that even with Infinite Knowledge, there is still information he has no access to.

It was absurd, but it was reasonable.

It didn't take long for his master to read and digest every word written on the file.

"I didn't even have any information on DALV except for its name, you're not as disappointing as I thought." Settia's master lightly swiveled his chair to directly face Settia, a cynical grin placing his face. "As expected, you are my creation, after all."

'What?'

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Opening the door to Cocoa Connection, a popular café 30 minutes away from Settia's master's home, Settia held it open for his master to swiftly enter.

While walking towards a vacant table behind his master, Settia assessed the café of anything notable.

The vicinity had an aroma of coffee beans, as to be expected. It specialized itself in making the greatest coffee, but they serve other beverages, too.

It gave out a homely and relaxing atmosphere with the soft color palette of pastel blue, white, and beige chipped together.

Every table was accompanied by a potpourri, to ease the mind and freshen the air. Settia was contemplating if he should acquire one for his master seeing as his usually stoic face softened the tiniest bit, having already chosen a table and sat down.

As far as Settia could see, there was only one type of plant; clematis pamela.

"What would master like to drink?"

Taking a quick glance towards the tiny table menu, Settia's master contemplated before deciding his beverage. "Ristretto. You can order anything you'd like."

"Thank you, master." Settia gave his master a respectful bow before heading towards the counter to order the beverages.

It didn't take long before it was his turn to place his order, giving the barista a cursory glance prior to stating his master's drink.

"And what about you? I know for a fact this drink is for your master, is it not?" The barista gave a smile, her bubbly personality matching the café's theme. "I recommend Cafe Bombon or Cafe Cubano!"

Settia nodded his head, deciding on the former. He only had to wait a minute before both drinks were served.

"Please place your hand on the scanner. The payment will be directed to your master's account." Settia did as he was told, his hand being guided by the barista. The barista released his hand after hearing a confirmation that the scan was finished and thanked him for purchasing.

Settia walked back to his master, drinks in hand, and handed his master's beverage to him, all the while sitting face-to-face with his master.

A few minutes passed with no one talking, it was as clear as day to Settia that his master was not a deipnosophist, or rather, he didn't like bothering himself with useless chat. Settia was programmed to only talk when needed, so even if he wanted to, he couldn't.

Staring at his master, Settia realized his master was lost in his thoughts. Settia decided this was the best time to question the system, so he did.

'System, is there a possibility that one of these people reincarnated from my initial world?' Settia thought, the need to clarify inciting his stomach. 'They don't necessarily have to be hosts.'

>

'Yes ah, I can tell. DALV, too, was not stated in the plotline.'

>

Settia was snapped out of his conversation with the system when his master gave a snarky chuckle. "Have you noticed? That barista has been eyeing you."

"What do you mean, master?"

"DALV wants you."
