The Adventurer System

Grim gained experience from the monster slain by Roshy. Nonetheless, he was bothered because he couldn't perform his taekwondo technique, which he needed to master again.

"You don't have to pay me, Grim. I'll give you a free boost to your experience." Roshy said this before seizing the monster's core with his sword.

"Grim, you have one more chance. Do you want the core? You can have it right now if you want it." She raised her hand, which contained the monster's core.

"No, you can have it." He replied coldly, thinking he'd never take the core as long as he wasn't the one who took it.

"Loud and clear, but don't blame if you get poor after this, okay?" She smirked and placed the core in her inventory.

"Poor?" He inquired.

"Yes, it's deplorable. You heard it correctly." She noticed Grim was perplexed, so she sighed and explained what she knew. "We've arrived at the destination determined by the system. So that we can learn more about the system and collect some monster's core, you'll be able to buy something after we leave this location." She elaborated.

It's understandable that he didn't know some of the terms in this world as a first-time VRMMORPG player.

"I'm still perplexed by the system you mentioned. Also, how are we going to get out of here? This is a never-ending forest." He asked while his eyes were wide with interest.

"You're still not getting it, aren't you? Who is the spirit who assessed your strength? It appears that the spirit did not provide you with all of the necessary information." She moved in a circulation motion, staring at Yumiro. "Okay, since I'm in a good mood right now I'll give you some information. The system will serve as our personal guide or as a means of informing us about a specific aspect of the VR world."

Roshy pointed her index finger at the tree not far away from them. "Try pointing your finger at that tree, for at least 3 seconds."

He knitted his brows, wondering what this woman spitting out. However, he did exactly what Roshy told him to do.

"How about this?" After that, count 3 seconds. "1... 2... 3." He removed his finger, and then a new elevated screen flashes right in front of his eyes.

[Junra Tree- It stands 20 feet tall and bears fruit every spring.]

"But it's only applicable for some objects, and you know we're inside the game, so expect a lot of mystery here," Roshy explained.

He finally realized how he was going to get information from the things that were new to him. But there was one thing that bothered him.

"This is my final question; if you don't answer, that's fine with me, but if you do accept my gratitude."

She smiled. "Tell me so we can go."

"How are we going to get out of here?" He inquired coldly.

"The answer was simple: try reading your quest from your notification bar." She responded with a slightly irritated expression.

He looked up at the elevated screen in front of him. Looking at all the icons that led to the quest list. "I suppose this one." When he saw a Q icon, he clicked it, and another tab appeared right away.

"When you complete your quest, you will be teleported to the Capital." Roshy said.

He read the context on the screen while sighing deeply, noticing that none of the quest he completes.

"You will be teleported to the Capital once you have awakened your passive skill." She was facing in the opposite direction. "You can see why I'm asking how we'll split the monster's core. But if you say it's mine, I'll gladly take it." She cheerfully continued their journey through the rank-F forest.

He couldn't do anything because he was the one who made the decision. "I only have one monster's core, but I still need 19 of them." He followed Roshy to her destination.

After a couple of hours, the area began to be enveloped by darkness. The only thing that allowed the two adventurers to look around was the moonlight and the glittering night skies.

Stomp! Stomp! Stomp!

Their ears picked up on familiar sounds for them. When the sun went down, the monsters in the virtual world seemed to become far more aggressive.

Roshy bit the bottom of her life as she noticed a swarm of monsters approaching their location.

"This place is teeming with enormous black rabbits." His excitement grew inside him as he realized this was the right time for him to fight the monsters.

On the other hand, "Why? Did we bring the monsters here? I'm no match for them if I fight ten black rabbits at the same time." Roshy stated.

In her mind, this expedition would be impossible for them if one of her party members was unable to assist her.

She cast a worried look at Yumiro. "Are you certain? Why don't you pull out your weapon now?!" Her true colors emerged when they were confronted with adversity.

"I've already stated that I don't have any weapons. If you're concerned, let's split up and each one of us will lure the five monsters in a different location." He said as he dashed towards the monster's ferocity.

"Hey! Hey! It doesn't matter I say..." Then she came to a halt as Grim vanished from her sight. "What a moron!

After she spits those words, two black rabbits in front of her gained 7 meters distance. While the other three monsters had to run for 35 meters to reach her.

She lowered her body slightly as she waited for the monsters to engage her. "I need to kill these two monsters before the other three monsters in my backside outnumber me." She uttered to her mind.

Swish! Swish!

Roshy blocked the monsters' attack as soon as they swung their claws in unison, but she was pushed back by the strong force. Also, even though she was in a difficult position, she kept looking behind her to see if the monsters were close to her.

Clang!

Three metal screeched to each other, and the sounds they made echoed. She attempted to draw back her sword in order to use her speed against them. But unfortunately, her sword became stuck at the monsters' claws for 4 seconds, causing her movements to be delayed.

"Argh!"

As the monster's claw pierced her, she growled.

[Your HP has been reduced by 30%. Avoid taking any damage.]

[6/10 remaining Health potions]

[With the monster bleeding passive skill. Your HP will decrease by 3% every one minute.] 

"Inventory!"

Another tab flashed in front of her eyes, she then grabbed the transparent glass-like test tubes used in scientific experimentation.

She appeared to be employing spatial magic, as did the other adventurer. On top of that, she drank the tube containing the red liquid without hesitation.

Gulp... Gulp... Gulp...

Green magical particles occurred in her body.

[Great! Your health power has returned to normal!]

She rubbed her lips slowly, removing some of the potions that remained on her pinkish lips. She then cast one of her abilities.

Her strength and were noticeably different from her previous attack. Using a skill provided by the system rather than a basic attack appears to have the potential to double up the damage.

Roshy placed her left hand over her eyes to shield them from the green blood that would be splashed on her pala face.

Then she stabbed the monster in front of her in the chest.

Swish!

[Killing the black rabbit has given you 68 experience points!]

"I can defeat them one by one, but if they all rush at once, my movements are restricted." She mumbled as she struggled to breathe.

She caught a glimpse of the widescreen that transpired and saw Grim's HP was still at 100%.

"His ability to flee from the monster is beneficial in some way. What a waste..." Roshy sighed and turned to face the four remaining monsters.

However, she wasn't scared of them anymore. Because their name color changed into color. Indicating that she was much stronger than them.

In the VR world, there are four types of monster's color name that based on their strength.

If the monsters had a white name, it meant the adventurers were more powerful than the monsters.

If the monster's name was orange, they would have the same power as the adventurers.

If the monster had a red name, its strength was doubled that of the adventurers.

If it was black, it was commonly referred to as a "Legendary monster" Since it could annihilate numerous adventurers in just a finger click.

Back in the dark green forest, Roshy was successful in defeating 5 monsters in 30 minutes. Moreover, she was now Lvl 7, as her EXP had increased twice because Grim was no longer within the 50-meter radius.

"I admired his bravery in fleeing the monsters, but it's a shame he missed out on the experience. I should lend a hand to that moron."

She chuckled as she wasn't concerned about Grim's situation. After seeing on her elevated screen Grim's HP was still at 100%.

"Map!"

Pop!

The map of the rank-F forest flickered his eyes, and she saw Grim's exact location in 134 meters. She noticed the number 2 labeled adventurer that appeared to be moving to her location.

That was one of the party functions since Harley Blun created a VR world in which all of the party members could share their locations. To easily locate if one of them became separate by accident, and to avoid having party members scheme to sabotage their expeditions. 

"What exactly is he thinking? He wanted to entice all the monsters here?! For real?!

She yelled, but even she noticed Grim movements didn't look like he was being pursued.

"Ahh! I can't let him die because my records will be destroyed, and no one will trust me to join them on their party raid.

After 8 minutes of bolting down the straight path, Roshy saw the young man had whiskey eyes.

Her eyelids widened and stifled to slack her jaw, as she saw the level of Yumiro in the half-hour that had passed. Then when Yumiro getting closer to her, he raised 13 glowing red crystals in his grasps.

She almost to passed out as she saw the level of Yumiro beside his name. [Grim Draigh lvl. 7]

"What?! What?! What?! It can't be true! What he did to attain so much experience?!"
