The Adventurer System

Chapter 84 - Adventurers Vs Salamanders

Yumiro left on the 4th floor with the thoughts these adventurers would take time before they could proceed into the next floor.

"I'm not scared with them, as soon as I finish fill up my experience I can slow down my pacing in this expedition." Even though he came to his mind the idea, what if he joins in their party? He perhaps lots much easier to clear the obstacles also learned new stuff about the VR world.

He shook his head and erased it in his thought. "No, I can't trust anyone. I can't tell when they will betray me if I join them." He walked towards the corridor while seeing on the wall were the laps.

"Earlier is a torch, now is a lamp? How possibly they can easily change the setting of this place?" He asked himself once again while using his remaining time to recover his fatigue.

As soon as he reached the entrance on the 5th floor, he sat next to it. "5 minutes, it's enough. I don't have any armor or robe that works in defense. Aside from that, those monsters are strong which means they will take a couple of minutes before they finish." He had a stolid expression while his butt was touched the stair surface.

...

On the other hand, 5 salamanders were left on the 4th floor. They were looked much aggressive now than the earlier, Bruce felt those monsters wouldn't let them easily move forward into the next floor.

Miles he was the swordsman in the party, Diorser the number 3 rookie also the mage. Sei belonged to the cleric class, Asarki was the scout also tactician, and Bruce the leader who made the shot calls for his party members also the fighter/tank who always taken a lot of damage.

"All of you, build your formation. No one would be left behind." Bruce yelled while pointed his silver shield in front of him. To block the swift attacks that might happen.

Bruce and Miles position in the front line, Diorser was in the amid, and behind him were Sei and Asarki.

"Sei, give a physical buff in our front line! Those monsters are strong might be our leader's shield can block it." Asarki murmured to the woman holding a wand, persuasive blueish eyes, and long brown hair.

Sei nodded without any hesitation. She then raised a blue long wand over her head, her mouth started to spit some words that she was the only one who could understand. Seemingly a cleric like her needed an enchanting spell before she could cast a skill, but it won't consume a lot of time.

[Holy blessing!]

Her blue wand gleamed with a golden light color that directly passed towards the 3 adventurers' bodies.

In this skill, the adventurers granted +2% regeneration effect, +23 physical defense, and +30 physical that directly added from their stats.

"Thanks, Sei!" The two adventurers in the front line said at once.

"Sei, this is opponent has an orange screen name which means our ability between them is the same. So if you see the situation become dangerous don't hesitate to heal them, okay?" Asarki explained while clicking her tongue at the same time.

"How actually Grim Draigh killed the 2 salamanders on his own? We are the same level, moreover, he's a brawler." Sei spoke to her mind as she confused the young man's identity.

"Do you hear me, Sei?" Asarki asked her once again as she noticed her; she was out of her mind.

Sei flinched, "Y-yeah, I'm sorry, co-leader Asarki. Am I just thinking how Grim Draigh possibly killed the salamanders alone? All the monsters down the floor..."

Asarki kneaded her chin smoothly wondering what would be the apparent answer for Sei's question. Her looking at the ceiling and eventually deeply sighed.

"Sorry, Sei. I didn't know how he does that, but the only thing I can assure you. He's not an ordinary adventurer, he's a strong one."

Bam!

Their chattering was suddenly ended as the salamander commenced to attack aggressively. It seemed eating there the same species will affect their behavior, on top of that, the salamander power was increased.

A man with an eye patch on his eyes slid back, even though he could block the attack by using his thin keen swords, way more looked like katana. It has some touch of blue in the blade, and a violet/red handle.

"They can easily push me like that?" Miles asked himself while his sword narrowly covered his body from the claws of the monsters.

"Miles, hide behind him. I must capable to take that damage. My Cnton shield already Lvl.2 so don't worry about the monster attack even their magic skill won't penetrate." Bruce said.

Miles nodded, he then hid behind the man's bulk body. "What we should do right now, Leader Bruce."

Ting! Ting!

Screeched sound of the monster's claws through the metal shield perceived by their ears enough reason to cover it.

"What did you say, Miles?!" Since Bruce was near to the shield some of the words he couldn't hear.

Swoosh!

Miles opened the function screen, he then went to the party setting so they could have good communication.

"What we should do, leader Bruce?" Miles asked him once again.

A mild voice whispered inside Bruce's mind, he then gazed his eyes directly at him.

"Those monsters will stop at any moment, wait until then. We will counterattack." Bruce replied in his thoughts, where all his party members could hear it.

They nodded at once, while Diorser stared to gather a magical power in his grasp. He was different from the other mage as he didn't use any kind of weapon for mage class like Grimoire or wand. Just his hands and some enchanting spell.

"I'm ready..." Diorser said with a weak tone and also using the party function.

All of them had serious eyes, they knew if one of them committed one mistake there was a tendency they will lose one of their members.

The Salamander stopped from attacking. "Now! Engage an attack!" Bruce exclaimed to everyone while dashing straight forward along with his Lvl2 shield.

Miles got out from Bruce behind with persuasive eyes. In his mind, the next thing will happen after this was the guild selection, so he had no right time to fail this expedition.

[Elite strike!]

Even though the distance of him within the monsters was around 11 meters, he still swung his sword 2 times, and eventually, a white light blade was sent to the mid-air.

Swish!

The two elevated blades were hit directly to the monster's body, it was like X when the blood spilled out.

"Yes! That's a direct hit!" Miles cheerfully said as he saw the one salamander got hurt in his attack.

[Monster name: Salamander.   HP:320/400]

"What the?!" His reaction was easily faded away after seeing his damage wasn't enough to kill the monster. "What just happened? It's a critical strike, why the monster didn't die." Miles pondered at the scene.

"Miles, don't think too much about what happened. The salamanders had a durable body which means a beginner skill wouldn't affect him." Asarki explained. "Just continue what are you doing right now, if you do that the monster can't last long."

Miles gritted his teeth as he thought the co-leader was disappointed. However, he followed what she said.

[Elite strike!]

[Elite strike!]

Those two consecutive skills were landed, but he just dealt +160 damage from the monster health points, which means he needed two more before it was annihilated.

"Don't worry, Miles. We are the same party, so we needed to help each other." Bruce said, he then charged directly to the monster.

Bam!

The monster bumped on his silver shield, he then continued until they didn't touch the concrete wall.

Boom!

A collision happened inside the 4th floor, "This monster is literally, in that case, it has 50 HP remaining."

Thud!

Thud!

Bruce didn't stop using his shield as a weapon, so kept hardly hitting the monster and eventually died.

"Jeez, that's a hard one." Bruce wiped the sticky blood the splashes on his face, but the thing was, he became more aggressive because of the sequence that happened.

[Boost!]

On the other side, Sei cast buff skills on her party members which helped them to replenish the fatigue that reduced to them.

"Thanks, Sei. You're the big help in this big expedition." Bruce gave her a thumbs up with a grin on his face. 'Sei... She just looks scared but she excellent Cleric."

Miles also thank her for trying to get her attention. "You're the best, Sei. I ho..."

"Watch out, Miles!"

Miles didn't complete his words as the salamanders blinked in front of him in an instant.

[Lightning Phython]

In the amid, a spark of electric current enveloped the area. It came from the Diorser as he tried to save Miles from the massive attack.
