BLACK CAT CHAPTER 63: MIX

“Al-so! Nyango has decided to join Chariot!” (Serge)

“Nyango will be stronger if I train him. The rough chariot won’t do…” (Shure)

Serge and Shure glared at each other across from me as I sat at the far table from the long table.

“Nyango, say, ah~” (Leila)

“Ah… yummeow! What is this yummeow thing?!” (Nyango)

“This is salted Malur roe. It’s rich and delicious, isn’t it?” (Leila)

“Spherical, bubble-like, rich, yummeow!” (Nyango)

“Hmmm… Nyango, quiet down for a while you’re losing yourself.” (Leila)

In the position of looking at Serge and Shure, who is glaring at each other, I am held in Ms. Leila’s lap and allowed to eat the food laid out on the table.

I was about to die of embarrassment if I thought about it calmly, but since there was no way I was going to escape, I decided to forget about it and enjoy the food.

“But these salted Malur roe are so yummeow. And the braised orc cubes are also very tasty and tender, Ibouro really has amazing food.” (Nyango)

“Hmmm… Nyango, you’re the type that gets captured by having your stomach seized.” (Leila)

“That’s good to hear… Nyango, I’ll feed you good food every day.” (Shure)

“Damn it, Silent! Nyango already said he’s going to join Chariot!” (Serge)

At first, I was seriously following their conversation, but this has been going on for more than two hours now, and on top of that, both of them look like they are getting drunk.

On the other side of Serge and Shure, Laius and Gad are talking to Jill about the request, and young adventurers are listening in the seats around them.

I’d like to join in the conversation over there if I could, but it seems unlikely that I’ll be unable to escape Ms. Leila, so I’ll just concentrate on eating.

“Say Ah~” (Leila)

“Ah~ Yummeow! Yummeow stew! (Nyango)”

I was getting a lot of reproachful stares from people, but Yummeow is Yummeow.

“Nyango should be left in my care. …Laius is strong but too rough…” (Shure)

“It’s true that Laius is rough, clumsy, and forceful, but Nyango is going to join Chariot.” (Serge)

No, no, you have to deny some at least a little bit there, Mr. Laius is putting his hand on his forehead and slumping his shoulders, and Mr. Gad is holding his stomach and laughing.

But it’s true that if you look at the way Chariot fights, Laius and Gad are power types, which is fine for fighting against monsters, but I don’t think they’re suited for close-space-fighting.

I haven’t seen Shure’s fighting style, but I think she would be incomparably strong in close-range battles with opponents.

Chariot would be the one to defeat monsters in the Ibouro area, and Shure would be the one to protect dignitaries who travel far from home.

As for me, I will be indebted to Chariot, who invited me first, but I would like to have Shure’s skills taught to me as well.

I also want to be pampered by Ms. Leila…

“The reason Chariot struggled this time is because you are a bunch of rough people…” (Shure)

“Shut it. We subjugated them properly, so there’s no problem.” (Serge)

“Then, it’s a waste of Nyango’s potential… I should train him…” (Shure)

“Don’t worry. If it’s Nyango, he’ll learn properly.” (Serge)

This time, the request that Chariot took on was to subjugate the orcs that roam the ranch on the outskirts of Cabane, but when they went out there, they found themselves having a hard time with a very smart ogre.

When Chariot followed the trail, he found that the trail had been cut off, and he had no idea where it was headed. It simply kept fleeing.

“Types like Nyango are suitable for outwitting and cornering smart targets. It’s not too late to stop joining Chariot and be trained by me.” (Shure)

“Don’t worry. He has already decided to join the chariot, right Nyango?” (Sergew)

“Eh, huh…?” (Nyango)

I had already decided to join the chariot, but now Shure’s proposal has made me waver.

I had tracked goblins to find their nests in the village of Atsuka village, but that was just following an opponent I could see.

If you ask me if I can track down an invisible opponent by just following their trail, I would have to say that I don’t have the skills to do that.

If Shure specializes in such skills, I think I would be more useful for Chariot after she teaches me.

“Then Nyango, why don’t you just work as a solo adventurer?” (Leila)

“But Ms. Leila, then I would have to find a place to live.” (Nyango )

“Oh, if you stay with me in my room, it will be solved.” (Leila)

“No, I’m not going to let you take care of me to that extent….” (Nyango)

If I nodded my head here, I would be killed by the people who are staring at me with jaw-clenched expressions on their faces.

“Hey, that’s a no. Nyango is going to take a bath with me and sleep with me like we did yesterday at the Hawk Eye Pavilion…” (Shure)

“What! Nyango, you…” (Serge)

The color of the eyes of all the guys, including Serge, changed when Shure showed off her marvelous Mount Fujis.

“No, we did not. We’re not sleeping together.” (Nyango)

“I see, then… Did you take a bath together?” (Serge)

“Hey, it can’t be helped, because she forced herself in.” (Nyango)

“Nyango, you…” (Sege)

I was getting really tired of dealing with drunks.

“Anyway, I left Atsuka to join Chariot. I’m not going to change that.” (Nyango)

When I said it clearly, Serge puffed his chest out, and Shure frowned in frustration.

“But, Nyango. If you join Chariot, you can still come through from my room, right?” (Leila)

“Eh, Ms. Leila, that’s… ah, ah, my throat…” (Nyango)

“So, that’s fine…” (Leila)

“Yeah, but I want to sleep alone…” (Nyango)

Since a little while ago, I’ve been fluffed by Ms. Leila all the time, and I’ve lost my strength.

Maybe I would be released soon…

“I’m sure Leila just wants to use Nyango as a heater in the wintertime.” (Serge)

“Serge, are you jealous?” (Shure)

“No, I’m not brave enough to willingly go to my death.” (Serge)

Wait a minute, am I in trouble? Is it that bad?

I wish those bastards who were giving me piercing glances earlier are now giving me pitying glances.

“I mean, why is everyone so interested in me?” (Nyango)

“That kind of thing, it’s obvious…” (Serge)

“Because Nyango is interesting…” (Shure)

For once, they seem to be in agreement, and Sergo and Shure nod at each other with smiles on their faces.

In short, although there are more people like them than in Atsuka Village, compared to Japan in the previous world, there is not much entertainment, and everyone is bored.

Then along came a catkin who wanted to become an adventurer using void magic, so they thought I would be a great toy to pass the time.

If you ask me, the young adventurers in the bar are also looking at me with jealousy because I’m being petted by Ms. Leila, but I can see a small amount of curiosity in their gazes.

“Then, wouldn’t it be better if Shure joined Chariot as well?” (Nyango)

“Huh? Silent will join us?” (Serge)

“Me with Chariot…?” (Shure)

If Ms. Shure joined along with me, Chariot would definitely be stronger, and Ms. Shure would be able to play with me.

I thought it would be beneficial for both of us, but Serge and Shure looked at each other with reluctant expressions.

“I don’t understand how this woman is thinking…” (Serge)

“Three people relying on power, ugh…” (Shure)

It is true that Chariot is a party of adventurers, for better or worse, and Shure is a solo adventurer.

They have different styles, no doubt, but I think a good change could be made if they were fused together.

“If you don’t know each other, you don’t know what each other is thinking, and if you work together, your styles will change. …Oh, oh, Ms. Leila my throat…” (Nyango)

“Nyango is right, isn’t he? And… it’s interesting to see Chariot and Silent team up.” (Leila)

Laius and Gad also have reluctant looks on their faces, but the young adventurers around them are nodding their heads with a twinkle in their eyes.

Chariot is said to be a party with a reputation for being successful, and Shure seems to be an adventurer with a title.

I wonder what kind of things will happen with Chariot and Silent… Chariot and Silent are a dream combination for those who are hungry for entertainment.

“So, Laius. What do  you think?” (Serge)

“That’s right… It would be far easier to deal with a nuisance like the one before if we had Silent.” (Laius)

“What about you, Gad?” (Serge)

“If we were younger, we might have had some trouble with the addition of a woman, but I don’t think we’d be fighting over a woman now. Besides, having a competent Seeker would expand the scope of our work.” (Gad)

It seems that Laius and Gad are leaning toward having Shure join the party.

“Shure, how about you?” (Serge)

“Serge and the others are annoying, but if I can train Nyango…” (Shure)

The young adventurers gathered around cheered as Serge and Shure clinked their mugs of ale.

Exciting enough to make the hairs on my back stand up.

I knew I had made the right choice in choosing a life as an adventurer.

I found myself clenching my fists tightly.

After drinking until the tavern closes, Shure returned to the Hawk Eye Pavilion, and the three from Chariot went back to their base.

And I was taken home by Ms. Leila…
