The Alpha's Prisoner

Chapter 100 - 100: Time Of Our Lives

It was their fourth trip to celebrate their wedding anniversary, and Jack had decided to spend it in a place with snow that year.

He also wanted to show Violet and the kids something called Aurora Borealis, something that she had never heard of, but Jack said they’d love it.

It was one of the most incredible things he had seen with his father as a child, and he wanted to show it to her and the children.

Charles was four years now, and they had one little girl who was about to turn two called Adele.

Every year, they would go in an adventure to celebrate their wedding anniversary, and Jack was very committed in fulfilling his promise to take Violet to know the world.

And she was more than happy to do it with their family. Charles was the apple of her eye, while Adele was a true daddy’s girl.

Their family was much more than she could’ve ever asked for.

They had chosen Lucinda and Lance to be the godparents of Charles. They were also married now and had a little girl called Louise, to whom Violet and Jack were godparents as well.

Adele, on the other hand, was the goddaughter of Morgana, and Violet had to admit that they even shared the same personality.

“Hey, come on! If we don’t go now, we’ll miss the lights.” Jack said already grabbing Adele’s in his arms and taking her to the car.

They were all wrapped up in warm clothes and the night was extremely dark.

Jack seemed particularly excited in this trip.

“Come on, Charles. Your dad will have a heart attack if we don’t leave now.” she teased her husband, taking the boy by his hand and leaving the hotel room.

“Mommy, what are we going to see?” Charles asked from the back seat.

Charles was about to shift for the first time, so he was beyond excited. He even howled and roared every time he had a chance to mess up with his sister and scare her.

Violet, who was also having a hard time to understand what Jack had explained before about the Aurora, looked at her husband, hoping that he could answer his son’s question with more knowledge than her.

“They are waves of lights floating in the sky with different colors and formats. It seems like they are dancing in the night sky, it’s really beautiful.”

“How did you find these lights?” Charles asked looking at the window.

It was very dark outside and the stars were shining like little diamonds above them.

“I came here with my father and our pack when I was about your age. At first, I thought that the lights looked like they were painted by someone in the sky, and that they had a magic power.”

“Do they?” Charles asked.

The boy was in a phase where everything looked interesting and he wanted to ask why every single thing was like it was.

Jack shrugged his shoulders with a smile on his lips.

“Who knows? Maybe they are made by a powerful ancient wolf that is hidden between the forest trees. We’ll never know.”

Jack stopped the car on the top of a hill, and the only light outside was coming from the stars.

They got out of the car and sat on the ground, in a big towel that Violet had brought.

“Daddy, I want water.” Adele said pulling her father’s coat.

“Of course, baby. Here it is.” he took her in his arms and offered a baby bottle with water to her with the other hand.

Violet laid on the ground, being followed by Charles, who always like to do the same things that she did.

“Oh, my God! Look!” Violet yelled when she saw a green light appear in the sky, bright and colorful like she had never seen.

It was something indescribable. She wouldn't know how to explain it to anyone if she had to.

“Mommy!” Charles shouted by her side, pulling her arm to look at the same direction as him. “Look! It’s purple.”

“Look, Adele. Look there, can you see?” Jack asked seated with Adele still in his arms.

Everyone was static, speechless, mesmerized, and Violet felt a wave of happiness and peace invade her being, just by watching her family together in such a special place.

It was exactly like magic.

“Thank you for this, baby.” she whispered to Jack when the kids decided to run around the car to watch the different lights showing up.

Jack smiled at her and pulled her for an embrace, putting his arm around her shoulder, cuddling her in his chest and giving her a kiss in the forehead.

Violet could never ask for anything more.

She had everything that she wanted: love, family, friends, and the most amazing husband in the world, that would do anything to make her happy.

“When I grow up, I want to make these lights in the sky too, mommy.” Charles screamed really excited running around the towel.

Violet smiled. She and Jack were still waiting to see if both of their children would inherit her sorceress power.

They made a bet that Adele was going to be a very powerful one, just like her godmother.

She already had the personality for that.

“I'm sure you will, Charles. Even more beautiful than these.” she answered looking at those little eyes, the same as his father's.

“Charles, Charles… Come.” Adele said grabbing her brother’s hand and pulling him to check the lights on the other side.

Violet looked at the sky again, still shocked with its beauty.

“I love you.” Jack whispered against her hair.

“I love you too. More than yesterday, less than tomorrow.”
