The Alpha's Prisoner

Chapter 36 - 36: Last Days

Violet was really mad at Morgana when she met the woman to practice again.

Apparently, Jack had talked to her and made it pretty clear that he didn’t like the way Morgana was handling things.

He also talked about Violet’s offer to go back to the Diamond Pack and find something to take Arden out of power.

That seemed to have a great impact on Morgana. She wasn’t expecting something so bold and dangerous from Violet.

She also seemed a little less hostile to Violet when they met at her office to practice, although she suggested a few times that maybe the reason behind it all was that Violet was trying to find a way to escape.

Which for her, either way was fine.

She promised Jack that would give a truce to Violet, so the girl could discover and improve her powers..

Violet had days filled with training, reading and lots of headaches. After all, it was really hard to concentrate on every task that Morgana gave her.

But after a few weeks of a lot of commitment, Violet had discovered that she was indeed really powerful.

Even Morgana seemed surprised.

Regarding her element domination, Violet discovered that was able to control every single part of nature that had soil in it.

One day, for example, she managed to make the roots of an old tree to come out of the ground and hit another tree.

She could also make dirt change its texture and consistency, like be more moist or dry.

Besides all that, Violet made really nice discoveries.

Like Morgana, she was also able to levitate things, including heavy objects and even people.

They also trained in their wolf forms, and Violet realized that she could also use levitation as a wolf, and even rise Morgana’s wolf form as well.

But one thing that made Violet really excited was her shielding ability.

According to Morgana, that was a really rare skill. She didn’t know any sorceress that could do that.

She explained to Violet that shielding was something really powerful because if she could control it well enough, she would be able to even create a shield to cover an entire city.

Of course Violet had a really hard time to learn how to control it and how to make it grow stronger.

But with all the practice during long nights, Violet was finally considered a well trained sorceress.

“You still have a lot to learn and master, but I think you’re ready.” Morgana said one day after a training session.

Violet had trained so hard that day, that her nose ended up bleeding.

Jack once in a while went to see her practicing during the day, and looked really enthusiastic with her improvement.

But one thing was worrying Violet and making her lose sleep.

The day when she would go back home was approaching.

It had been her idea, but she wasn’t ready to do it yet.

Not that she was feeling scared, but only the thought of leaving Jack behind and risking not to be able to come back was haunting her.

What if Arden discovered that she had succumbed to her mate bond? Would he try to do something to her?

But now she was more than able to defend herself. But would she have the courage to do it?

It was true that she was going back to get something to take Arden from his position as the Alpha, but she didn’t want to hurt him or anything like that.

She just wanted things to be just. The members from the Diamond Pack had the right to know the world as it was; discover all the incredible things that Violet had discovered while she was a prisoner from the Rebels.

Even then she had learned more things than when she was supposedly free inside the walls of the Diamond Pack.

How contradictory was that?

Jack had been sleeping with her every single night since the day she asked him to free her. They were enjoying every single moment they could together, like they knew something was going to happen and they didn’t want to waste time.

“Are you sure you want to go?” Jack asked on the last night before her departure.

They were laying on the bed, staring at each other with a lump on their throats.

It really had that feeling of goodbye on the atmosphere.

Violet didn’t trust her voice, so she just nodded in affirmation.

“At the first sign of anything going wrong, you must give up, ok? You don’t need to risk your life to get anything. We can come up with something, another plan…” he continued.

“Everything will be fine, just trust me.” Violet said softly, caressing his hair.

Jack pulled her closer and hugged her tight. He didn’t say anything, but Violet could feel what he meant from his hug.

They didn’t need words at that moment. Just enjoy each other’s presence was enough.

Violet was also afraid that she would start crying if he said anything emotional. So she thanked him in silence.

She fell asleep with his arms around her, feeling the safest she had ever felt in her life.

The days ahead of her were a mystery, and not knowing what was going to happen let Violet frustrated and anxious.

For that reason, she couldn’t stand to have a proper farewell. So she decided to leave the mansion before Jack woke up.

And before the sunrise, when the sky was starting to turn lighter, Violet dressed up and left the room without looking back.

Her heart would shrink in pain if she had a last glance of Jack sleeping peacefully on what was her bed for so long.

And just like that, Violet took the path she would never think was possible a few months before.

For a while she thought that mansion was going to be the place where she would die.

And now all she wanted to do was go back inside and never leave again.

But she had a mission to accomplish. One that she really hoped it would be successful.
