Order from the King

(The skill possessed by the Luka-sama is related to both the protection and the flourishing of the entire country.)

A skill truly befitting a King, it was extremely powerful apparently. Of course, the details were a state level secret, and hadn’t been fully revealed even in the game’s scenario.

But, as a price for such a strong skill, there was also one demerit he had to deal with.

(While Luka-sama’s skill is active, the user will not age. That’s why, ever since Luka-sama awoke to  his skill around when he was 10yrs old or so, he has not aged a single year since then.)

Not just that, even the conditions of activation were predetermined.

(This skill could only be used by the [Last King], so if by any chance there was someone else who had the royal family’s blood flowing in them, this skill would become unable to use. Which means that Luka-sama was the last remaining survivor of his royal bloodline, and as long as he used this skill, he couldn’t have any descendants either……It was huge demerit to the King but still, Luka-sama continued to use his skill and chose to continue protecting this country and its people.)

Francesca really respected Luka for that reason. However, that’s why, having that king refer to her as his [grandkid] also seemed like too great of an honour.

“Thank you very much, your Majesty. I’ll be sure to have sweets with some other time.”

“Francesca, I’ve said this before as well, no?”

Resting his chin on the armrest of the throne, he laughed with grace.

He certainly looked like a young boy but, his actions, his expression, and the way he always carried himself were all very much that of someone that had lived a very long life.

“Grandkids don’t call their grandpas as [your Majesty]. It’s way too formal and makes me feel really lonely, you know? Call me simply Luka like you used to back when you were just a small child.”

“uuuu, but, that manner of speaking is…….!”

When she met Luka the first time, she had let her tongue slip like that. Just recalling it made her embarrassed. That had happened around a year after Francesca had recalled her past life’s memories, so around when she was 6 or so.

[It is my pleasure to meet you, Luka-sama. My name is Francesca Amelia Calvino.]

[Luka-sama?……….Ahahaha, now that’s nice! How long has it been since someone has said my name, eh, Ewald?]

Thinking again, there are no citizens that would ever say their king’s first name directly in front of them ever. Realizing that, she suddenly had turned pale.

(It’s because all the game players called him [Luka-sama] that I accidentally used that in real life as well……..!!)

Thankfully, Luka simply found it amusing, and allowed Francesca to refer to him like that.

While she felt relieved then, now that she was 17yrs old, being asked to talk like when she was just a child was simply too embarrassing.

While Francesca was panicking, Leonardo suddenly raised his hand.

“Your Highness. In that case, may I also refer to you as Luka-sama? Is that okay?”

“Le-leonardo?”

“Ooh, Of course, I do not mind at all! You may be the head of your family now, but you are still one my adorable grandkids after all.”

“Then your highness, may I as well?”

“Graziano, not you too…….!?”

“Of course. Hahaha, I’m so happy to be so loved by grandkids like this.”

Hearing Leonardo’s and Graziano’s requests, Luka was in high spirits, looking excitable on the throne. Seeing this all in front of him, Francesca’s father simply sighed and spoke.

“Our gratitude for your lenient words and generosity, your Majesty.”

“And why are you still talking so formally? Ewald, from my point of view, you too are but a cute greenhorn as well.”

(Luka-sama might be the only one in the entire world that can call Papa a [greenhorn] huh.)

Francesca earnestly looked at Leonardo and Graziano.

These two had definitely made that request just so they could save her from the embarrassment of being the only that has to call the King by a different name.

“Shall we continue now, your majesty?”

Looking down at the Luka, her father’s voice took a different tone as he continued to speak.

Luka too, continued to smile, as he crossed his small arms and narrowed his eyes.

“Umu, all the actors have assembled here.——let us begin.”

Suddenly the atmosphere in the entire area completely changed, and everything felt very tense. Feeling it directly on her skin, Francesca stared at Luka.

Luka closed his cherry blossom coloured eyelashes and shut his eyes, as he continued to speak.

“It would seem, a certain Marquis family’s head is being currently targeted by an assassin.”

None of the people assembled here had a change in an expression even after hearing those words. Luka laughed while noticing that, and then gave out his orders.

“Every singly citizen of this country is like my very own child or my grandchild. I am not the type to simply stand by and see them killed, hence, I would like to offer them help……….as for the marquis in question, his name is…..”

Luka’s gaze passed through both Ewald and Leonardo, and even Francesca behind them, and focused entirely on Graziano in the back.

“Genesio Albano Savini.”

“………………..”

She could tell that Graziano breathed in just from hearing that name. Francesca’s chest hurt as she hung her head.

(it’s no wonder Graziano looks so shocked. After all….)

She recalled the state Graziano was in when he was first brought to their house. Covered in wounds, and crying.

(………the man being targeted by the Assassin, Marquis Salvini, is none other than Graziano’s father……)

The man that had abandoned Graziano’s mother who was a simple prostitute, and had Graziano horribly beaten up just so he could get rid of him. That very same man.
