TL: Moonlit

The young male sat at the hunting spot ticket booth. When he saw Lin Su coming out again, he instinctively stood up, his eyes filled with astonishment. Compared to yesterday, Lin Su not only carried three wild chickens in his hands but also carried a wild boar on his shoulder.

Although he had a slender figure, his strength was intimidating.

Lin Su approached and glanced at the dumbfounded young male. “The ticket is in my pocket. Take it yourself. I have my hands full.”

“What are you bringing these things back for?” The young male couldn’t understand why the young female was bothered with so many things that couldn’t be eaten.

Instead of answering his question, Lin Su, with a worried expression, said, “Oh, by the way, I saw two suspicious people in the forest just now. Send someone to check it out. The location should be…”

After speaking righteously, Lin Su carried the wild boar on his shoulder and held the wild chickens in his hands, walking proudly toward home.

He had plans for the wild boar meat on his shoulder. He would let Su Jin salt it for preservation, and it would last for a long time.

However, the animals in this world were different from the ones he was familiar with. This wild boar had tusks growing on its forehead, like a rhinoceros horn.

Although it was called a wild boar, no one really knew what it was.

Just like the wild chickens, they looked like large geese.

Having spent the whole morning out, Lin Su returned home with a pile of things. Upon seeing him, Su Jin was startled and quickly came to help, taking the wild boar off his shoulder and placing it aside. “How did you end up with such a big guy?”

“Got lucky, stumbled upon it. Heard it died after hitting a tree on its own.”

Su Jin paused for a moment upon hearing that and then laughed. “It can hit a tree on its own? No wonder it looks so foolish.”

Lin Su chuckled and happily put the wild chickens in the chicken coop, accompanying the other two from yesterday.

He turned to Su Jin and said, “When it’s time, we’ll prepare them and preserve them with salt. We can enjoy it slowly since it’s so big.”

Hearing Lin Su’s cheerful tone and recalling the things people said earlier, Su Jin hesitated to dampen Lin Su’s mood.

But he was also worried about what might happen if he didn’t say anything.

Su Jin found himself caught in a dilemma.

Lin Su noticed the expression on Su Jin’s face. Su Jin was a female who didn’t know how to hide his emotions. When Lin Su just entered the house, he noticed that Su Jin’s mood wasn’t as high as it was when he left in the morning.

It seemed like something was bothering him. “Did someone talk to you, female father? Did they lecture you?”

Based on the things he overheard on his way back, most likely those words had already reached Su Jin’s ears.

To his surprise, Lin Su could tell. Su Jin’s heart felt a pang, and he replied, “They didn’t say much. It’s nothing.”

“Did they come to lecture you?” Lin Su didn’t intend to let this question slide. If it were left unresolved, Su Jin would surely keep thinking about it. “The next time they come to talk to you about this, just tell them I have successfully formed a bond and possess purifying abilities.”

“I’m not worried about that. I’m just afraid that if they really find out about your abilities, they’ll have ulterior motives, and that will lead to trouble.”

Su Jin was truly torn now. If their cub was outstanding, he would be happy and want everyone in the world to know, but he also feared that it would harm their cub if others found out.

Lin Su chuckled and said, “There’s no need to keep it a secret. Sooner or later, everyone will find out. The next time someone mentions it, just tell them. I’m aware of it.”

He wasn’t afraid of them knowing; he was afraid of them not knowing.

The more people who knew, the better it would be. When the time comes… XD!

Lin Su pushed open the door and entered the house, directly meeting William’s gaze. Unlike the aggrieved and melancholic mood from yesterday, there was now a hint of understanding and confirmation in William’s eyes, confirming the eerie atmosphere.

Lin Su blinked in confusion and asked, “What’s with that look? It’s as if I’ve cheated on you.”

As he spoke, he took out the vial of S-rank Contract Beast blood he had collected from his pocket and threw it into the drawer.

When William saw the vial of blood, his dog ears perked up, and his golden beast eyes stared in the direction of the drawer. Noticing his reaction, Lin Su reopened the drawer and took out the vial of blood, handing it to William. “It’s the blood of a Black Flame Panther, an S-rank Contract Beast. It was injured, and I saved it and collected some of its blood. I’m not sure what it can be used for, but I feel like it contains a significant amount of energy. Do you know what this thing can be used for?”

The unfamiliar Contract Beast aura that Lin Su had carried with him these past two days was identical to the aura emanating from the vial of blood.

William stared at the vial of blood in Lin Su’s hand, a touch of displeasure crossing his eyes. Why didn’t the injured Contract Beast find a secluded place to die?

As soon as this thought came to his mind, William had a strong desire to leave his mark on Lin Su, preferably a mark that could never be washed away.

He reached out and picked up the vial of blood, opened the cap, dipped his fingertips in it, and spread it on his chest, under his open shirt. Suddenly, a complex red semicircular pattern appeared on his previously unmarked chest.

The blood gradually absorbed into the pattern, disappearing completely, and the beast pattern vanished along with it.

Lin Su looked at William in astonishment and asked, “Can this thing alleviate your mental disorder?”

William shook his head, then turned to take a water cup, dipped it in water, and wrote on the ground: “Activating the beast pattern can increase the chances of forming a contract.”

Lin Su nodded, understanding his explanation. “I see.”

After that, he casually threw the vial into the drawer, stood up, and said, “The Black Flame Panther offered a wild boar. We can eat it later, and it shouldn’t taste worse than the wild chickens from yesterday.”

As Lin Su walked out of the room, he saw Su Jin standing in the yard, staring in the direction of the Tang family.

“What are you looking at, female father?”

“Nothing, I just saw Tang Ou crying and running back home…”

As soon as he finished speaking, a police car arrived and stopped in front of the Tang family’s house. Soon, two uniformed personnel got out of the car and knocked on the Tang family’s door.

Tang Ran came out, and faint cries of Tang Ou could still be heard from inside: “Make them go away, I don’t want to see them anymore, wuwu!”

Tang Ran quickly closed the door, blocking the cries from inside, and politely said to the visitors, “I’m sorry, but Tang Ou is emotionally disturbed at the moment. I hope you can understand.”

“We’re just following regulations. We need to verify the identity of the other party. According to our investigation, this male named Drew seems to have no family left and only has a partner named Tang Ou. Since he is not in a clear state of mind, we would like to know when it would be appropriate for you to come and pick him up and bring him back home?”

Upon hearing this, a look of disgust flashed across Tang Ran’s face. “Indeed, Drew is Tang Ou’s partner, but since he has engaged in such morally unethical behavior against the Beast God’s contract, we will have nothing to do with him. Not only do we not care about him, but Tang Ou also wants a divorce from him!”

“We understand your feelings, but considering Drew’s situation, we still need you to bring him back first. The rest of the matter will need to be resolved by yourselves…”

“I don’t care! Let him go, since he cheated with that bitch Xiao Feng, he is dead to us!”

Tang Ou forcefully pushed the door open, emotionally agitated and shouting.

Tang Ran quickly turned and pushed him back into the house, lowering his voice, he said, “What are you shouting about? Do you want to embarrass us even more?”

Su Jin, who heard this explosive news, wore an incredulous expression on his face, even doubting if he had misheard. He turned to Lin Su and asked, “What did Tang Ou mean just now? Did his partner cheat on him with Xiao Feng?”

Lin Su’s eyes also showed surprise. He hadn’t expected that the rough-faced guy was actually Tang Ou’s partner. Originally, he had just wanted to kill two birds with one stone, but he never thought it would be a triple hit!

“It seems to be the case!”

Su Jin suddenly didn’t know what to say and hurriedly pulled Lin Su aside, cautioning him, “Let’s not listen to this kind of gossip, it’s dirty for our ears.”

Lin Su curved his eyes, revealing a pair of cute and charming dimples, and obediently nodded, “You’re right, female father.”

Together with Su Jin, they prepared the wild boar and cleaned up the bones, ready to make a pot of bone soup and stew some pork belly with green beans.

Tonight, let’s cook a hearty meal and enjoy ourselves.

Su Jin followed Lin Su’s method and rubbed the remaining meat with salt to dry it.

His movements were steady, and as he listened to the occasional cries coming from Tang Ran’s house, Su Jin inexplicably felt a sense of happiness. He couldn’t help but sigh, thinking that these days were becoming more and more interesting.

Before long, the delicious aroma of meat wafted out from the kitchen.

Lin Su tasted a sip of the soup, a bone broth that had not been heavily seasoned, savoring its original and delicious flavor.

Tang Ou, who was crying and howling in the house, suddenly stopped. His nose twitched, and a scent even more fragrant than yesterday’s drifted through the air, momentarily making him forget to cry.

In silence, he sniffed and looked at Tang Ran. “Female Father, what is Lin Su’s family cooking again?”

Living under the same roof, if Tang Ou smelled it, Tang Ran naturally smelled it too.

Thinking about how his own family had deteriorated to this point while Lin Su’s family enjoyed delicious and spicy food every day, Tang Ou felt a sense of imbalance in his heart.

“Why do you care about what they’re doing? In any case, it’s something our family can’t have. You should think about your own situation with Drew. Useless thing, you couldn’t even keep a male in check. I’ve told you before, Xiao Feng isn’t a good person, and you still befriended him. Now look, your partner has been completely taken away by him!”

Tang Ou, who was initially captivated by the scent of the meat, immediately felt even more aggrieved upon hearing this. “Why am I so unfortunate? My partner and good friend are together, and I have to smell such a delicious aroma every day. It’s unfair!”
