The Cage Of The Past

Rouzhen Gu suddenly awake when he heard her words. His eyes return back to the previous dark cold and excitement quickly fade. He looked at her face full of sarcasm. "What kind of woman are you? Vanity? Innocent?

Listening to his dangerous tone, she looked at his handsome face as if it will carve a deep emotion that she's been longing for. She saw his deep eyes seemed to have powerful magic which made people unconsciously indulge in it.

"Let me go!" She repeated again because she felt being abused the way he took advantage of her weakness. Somehow, Rouzhen realizes what he did so he releases her from his arms.

Xiaoxi Chen shivered. If someone found out what they are doing inside the men's toilet she will definitely lose her face. Miss Huang also had warned her earlier not to get closer with her boss and it makes her feel uncomfortable. She only wanted to have a decent job why she ended like this, being punished by Rouzhen for the simple reason that she caught him doing an unusual act.

"CEO, I wanted to resign!" Xiaoxi Chen said coldly. She is not an easy woman, she never wants to annoy anyone, but he keeps bullying her the way he wanted.

Rouzhen Gu did not say anything, opened the door and leave. Xiaoxi Chen left inside the toilet room feeling depressed and upset. She wanted to cry hard and let her sadness fade away until she gets tired. Why bully her often? She wanted to ask him but Rouzhen fled away.

She's been bullied by someone five years ago without knowing the person's identity, and the worst part is he took her son without her permission. Why God let her suffer this way? She shouldn't have accepted the contract to be a surrogate mother because it causes her so much pain when she thinks about how her biological son been separated from her. It's been five years ago of finding that person but still no trace of him.

Xiaoxi Chen sat down on the toilet room and began to cry, tears flowed down in her face that made her eyes swell.

"Who is crying inside?" Suddenly there was a commanding male voice she heard from outside which startled her. She didn't utter any words and she stops crying.

"Who is inside?" same voice again that sounds getting impatient.

"Chairman, I think it is a woman's voice and she might get in the wrong washroom. I will deal with it and you can go back to the banquet hall, young master been looking for you." Other man voiced that she heard.

"Young lady you can go out now. I think you get into a wrong washroom. This is for men, I will leave now so you can come out and return back to the party. Whatever your problem is, restrain yourself from expressing it here." She heard the man's voice outside the cubicle then he walked away.

Inside the cubicle, Xiaoxi was too scared to move. How could she forget that this is a men's washroom? She was dragged hard by Rouzhen Gu and got bullied. When Xiaoxi Chen finally returned to the dinner and ready to leave she heard Zion Ni's voice calling her. "Ah, Xiaoxi, my dear where have you been? I've been looking for you." She gets startled and she asks herself, why he return back? Her head bowed down and in a hurry to leave trying to escape from him.

She lifted her head without thinking that she just had cried hard inside the washroom. At that moment, he stood still and smiled at her when he got surprised upon seeing her swollen eyes. "It's really you, Xiaoxi my dear sister who bullied you? You've cried hard?"

Xiaoxi Chen showed a weak of a wry smile to Zion. " Sorry, Manager Ni I am not feeling well. I will leave now. Let's talk some other time!" she left immediately.

Zion Ni was left in confusion. "Woman sometimes really so sėnsɨtɨvė," he said it into himself and shrugged his shoulders. The chairman is currently giving his speech and everyone's attention was with him.

Dazed-looking at the back left in a hurry he almost guesses that Xiaoxi gets bullied by Rouzhen Gu. He is looking around to find his evil friend and right at the other corner, he saw the devil reincarnate happily chatting with other women.

It's Monday again….

Xiaoxi Chen brings her resignation letter. When she saw secretary Qi Feng came out from her office she called her and handed her resignation letter.

"Secretary Feng please accept my resignation letter!"

"You're quitting?" Secretary Qi Feng was surprised. "Can we talk first? Xiaoxi, entering GU Corp is not easy, thousands of applicants who wanted to work here has been rejected. Only you and Mei Zhao was chosen, you can imagine how competitive you are to make it here and now you're leaving?"

"I know! Secretary Feng, I'm sorry to let you down but I am so thankful that you guide me along the way. I just wanted to resign!" she felt sad but she made her decision already.

"I can't accept your resignation letter. Sir Rouzhen is the one who hired you, so I suggest you hand him directly your resignation letter. You have to ask his permission not me." Secretary Feng said it to her.

At that moment, Rouzhen Gu walked out from the elevator, Secretary Feng quickly said: "CEO, Miss Xiaoxi Chen wanted to resign!" and she gives Xiaoxi's resignation letter.

Xiaxi Chen saw Rouzhen looking at her in a cold expression, his tightly pressed thin lips showed a fake smile. Thinking of last night's inexplicable kiss, her face blushed. She lowers down her head, she can't face Rouzhen directly. His lips keep reminding her how passionate they kissed each other. Obstinately she raised her head and looked back at him, why should she be guilty, she's the one being bullied by him.

Rouzhen Gu eagle-eyed look thrown to her, sweep over fell on Xiaoxi Chen's fair face. He did not speak and walk toward his office. Secretary Qi Feng does not know what happened. "Xiaoxi, you go in and talk to the CEO on your own!"

"I…" Xiaoxi Chen cannot find the right words to say. She just wanted to leave. She hesitantly came to the door of the CEO office and knocked a few times.

"Come in!" The voice is as cold as ice.

"Deep breath! It's okay, I am about to quit this job and I don't need to feel afraid facing him," she said it into herself. Push the door in, Xiaoxi Chen's heart is still beating anxiously.

"S- sir! CEO, I want to resign!"

"Why? He raised his head looking at her dominantly. Rouzhen Gu impassive black eyes flash a sharp look. Cold eyes like the winter snow showing indifference but also seems to carry a sense of emotion that makes her feel guilty. " Is it because I kissed you last night?"

"Uhm! CEO, I am not suitable for this job!" She is here for work, not being disturbed, she wanted to tell him but she keeps it in her mind.

Rouzhen Gu eyes flashed a tinge of amusement. "The cooperation project with AVL has already begun. Who do you want me to pass it on? Secretary Chen, you may resign but you have to pay for the loss of the company, 100 million US dollars! Get it, hand over me and you can leave immediately!"

"Ahh.." Xiaoxi Chen almost shouted, " You are unreasonable, how come the company will lose when I just only wanted to leave. There are so many managers here who can handle that project without me. Rouzhen Gu you are oppressing me."

"Say it again? You've forgotten, Secretary Chen that project started and you are the responsible person handling it. You've asked me to hand it to other people because you are leaving suddenly? Her fist clenched on her side, holding it back, she is so angry with this arrogant beast.

Rouzhen Gu did not speak and suddenly stood up. Xiaoxi Chen winced in terror. He walked toward her, his lips twinkling and his eyes looking at her seductively. "Are you afraid of me, that's why you wanted to resign?"

"I would go back to work!" She turned around abruptly and since she could not quit, she would finish the project and will get back to him and ask him to grant her resignation. Xiaoxi Chen dejectedly left the room.

"Xiaoxi, What does the CEO say? Asked by secretary Qi Feng when saw her.

"Secretary Feng, does everyone who quit have to pay 100 million US dollars to the company as compensation for the loss? She wondered if GU Corp company had been made rich by such scam. It was simply abhorrent.

"Huh! Secretary Qi Feng astonished. "Why did you say so? Does our boss wants you to pay 100 million US dollars?"

"Just ȧssume that I didn't ask!" She did not want to be talkative but sat down in her seat in frustration.

Secretary Qi Feng blinked her eyes, the first time to hear such rumors, also the first time to hear the CEO did not let subordinate to resign, is the CEO and secretary Chen really have a special relationship?

"Good morning! Mei Zhao has come. "Hi, sister Xiaoxi! What happened yesterday? How come I did not see you in the banquet.?"

"I am fine, I was there all the while last night but I took leave earlier!" she lied.

"No, Xiaoxi my dear sister you seem to have been frightened by someone last night!" A man's voice broke in laughing.

"Care to share your story?" Secretary Feng and Mei were speechless, waiting for her response.

Xiaoxi Chen got out of words. She can't tell them she got bullied by their boss. "Two beautiful secretaries, Feng and Mei, good morning!" Manager Ni greets the two ladies to break the silence. He was looking at the three women with high spirit but behind his mind wanted Xiaoxi to share her thoughts.

Secretary Feng and Mei looked at each other and understand that Zion joking ability is unbeatable. Xioaxi Chen look at Zion Ni that trying to start playing with her powerlessly glanced at him she still kept silent.

"What's wrong? Are you sick? Zion Ni looks at Xiaoxi with concerned.

"Sorry, let's start working!" Xiaoxi Chen shook her head in frustration.

"But you seem like you are not okay!" Zion Ni is confused.

"It's okay! I'm going to make a coffee for you and for the CEO." Xiaoxi Chen curled her lip, she was taken advantage of by her boss and wanted to resign, but the man asked her to pay him first before she could leave. She was forced to kiss last night by Rouzhen because she caught him doing something inside the female's washroom with his female companion. He said it is her punishment, but who is going to pay for it? She felt mad at him, Rouzhen Gu really an evil reincarnate.

Thinking of the future to work in the GU family, Xiaoxi Chen even can't imagine about it. She smiled bitterly because she had no choice but to stay until she was able to finish the task.

"Give me a cup of tea, not coffee!" Zion Ni said it, he sees her reaction and judging from it he knows she doesn't want to mention about it and switch his attention to another two women.

Secretary Qi Feng shook her head, Mei Zhao shrugged, don't know what happened.

"Ladies, I will go to the CEO's room, goodbye!" Zion Ni walks toward Rouzhen office very unrestrained.

Xiaoxi Chen brought the morning coffee to the CEO room and another cup of tea for Zion. Knocked on the door, went in, she saw Zion Ni sat on the sofa happily chatting with Rouzhen.

"Sir your coffee! Manager Ni your tea!" she said in a formulaic way, Xiaoxi Chen wants to leave after putting down two cups in front of them when she heard Zion stopped her.

"Xiaoxi, what's wrong with you today? Looks somehow a little weird!"

Zion's eyes were with Rouzhen while asking her. He wanted to know what's wrong with these two people.

"Nothing sir!" Xiaoxi Chen smiled. "May I take my leave now!" She runs away immediately.

"Secretary Chen, go to AVL today, rush that project as soon as possible, I hope to come up with a practical and effective plan!" Rouzhen Gu opened his mouth when Xiaoxi was about to open the door.

"Yes!" Xiaoxi Chen nodded but her heart criticizes him, this man is much more cunning than a fox.

I'll go with you, Xiaoxi, I will bring you to the AVL office!" Zion Ni takes a sip of his tea and stands up.

Rouzhen Gu stare at him, Zion Ni was shocked by the cold light of his eyes, but he didn't pay attention to it and continue without fear to him. "Rouzhen, why are you staring at me like that? A naughty smile draws in the corner of his lips provoking his best friend.

On their way to AVL Xiaoxi holding the documents in her hands while looking outside the window of the car. She is with manager Ni, she can't forget the exchange of looks between Rouzhen and Zion inside CEO's office minutes ago, maybe Rouzhen Gu only helpless and no words when a kind of person like Zion Ni played him.

"Xiaoxi sister! What are you thinking? Zion asked.

"Nothing! She smiled shortly to stop him from joking around. She is sitting beside him at the front seat of his car. She wanted to sit behind but Zion forced her to sit in front. Her small face was seen in the rear view mirror and her beautiful eyes rolled out when she noticed he was staring at her. "Focus on the road, I am afraid we get an accident before we arrive at AVL." She caught him with a playful smile on his lips. This man really annoying sometimes.

After Xiaoxi Chen finish her meeting with Jenny Smith, she's planning to leave immediately. Jenny Smith looked at Xiaoxi Chen, whole black suit, totally like an old vɨrġɨn, she said in her mind. Why this young lady hiding her body. So naive!

"Miss Smith, do you have other matter to say? Xiaoxi felt awkward the way Jenny looked at her.

"Xiaoxi, can I call you by your name? Jenny said.

"Uhm! Of course!" Xiaoxi Chen smiled.

"How old are you?" Jenny Smith guessed that she is not older than twenty-four years old. "Do you mind to tell me about it?

"Twenty-four!" Xiaoxi Chen never thinks that age is a secret.

"Another important age for a woman," Jenny said.

"What do you mean?" she asked.

"Woman has two important age in her whole life, eighteen and twenty-four years old" Jenny Smith blink her eyes, "I think you are not making better the second most important age in your life!"

"Ah, why? She didn't understand what Jenny wanted to tell her." Xiaoxi has been puzzled.
