The Cage Of The Past

Rouzhen Gu felt annoyed the way she acted but he can't remove his mask. This stubborn woman getting into his nerve but he can't let her go. She's the mother of his child and he wants to hold her no matter what it takes.

"Yes, rest ȧssured you can see him!" His voice was deep and horse. "Didn't you want to see him?"

"I can see him after tonight?" Xiaoxi Chen wants confirmation.

"It depends on your performance, to be exact, not sure!" Mr. Fox's eyes were filled with a naughty smile. "Three months, how about being my woman for three months?"

"You…" She was annoyed and wanted to slap his face.

"That's far enough, you can do it or you can refuse, nobody force you! It's just that you'll never see your child, if you can take it, so be it!"

Hearing his words, she felt dead, blank, feel powerless and breathless. "You're threatening me!"

"I am not, Miss Chen it's you who said you're willing to do everything, this should be a deal, not a threat, after all, we slept together five years ago, why sound so scared? She was speechless, scared and dodge. She wanted to rip off his mask but she can't afford the consequences.

"Why a sudden silent? Miss Chen if you don't want to make this deal, please go out now, you're wasting my time!" Mr. Fox tone was already impatient. "I still have something to do and have no time to waste!"

The humiliation in Xiaoxi Chen's heart welled up, face off but did not let the tears fall. "No, I won't agree! But I want to see the kid!" She cried stiffly. "I'll hunt you if you won't let me see the child!"

"Haunt for what?" He chuckled and almost roar a peal of triumphant laughter because he knows she will definitely can't afford to offend him. "There is no one else in this house, female and male in one room what do you think would they are going to say? You're not afraid of me?"

"You!... Evil!" Xiaoxi Chen frowned and her face flushed by his words. Look at him with hatred, this mask and this man are both so hateful!

"Hate me?" Oh, c' mon little wild cat, you can't win over me!" he raised his brows.

"Yes! I hate you! I hate you!" she shouted in high fetch voice.

"Just hate me as much as you can!" he laughed

Xiaoxi Chen lowered her head, feel her sight are burning and willing to give up.

"Come over!" he ordered and patted the sofa beside him.

Xiaoxi Chen heart quivered and shook her head.

"Then you stay here and I'll go!" He then stood up and once glance her in a naughty smile. "Give you a day to think about it, tomorrow night, if you are not able to sacrifice everything, then I can't promise too, and will never see you again!"

Finish his words, then he got up and strode away.

Xiaoxi Chen cried eagerly, shaking in her heart and said: "Sir, please don't go! I wanted to see my son!"

But the person already opened the door, the man walked out without hesitation and any nostalgia. It was quiet in the villa and the Bently had already gone when Xiaoxi Chen chased it out she never find him.

Xiaoxi Chen's heart was hollowed out, then covered with a layer of frost. She cried. A wave of grievances and heartbreak welled up in Xiaoxi Chen's mind. She could not control herself at last and cry loudly, why is it so hard to see her child? Why did he humiliate her so much?

Xiaoxi Chen doesn't know how she went back that night, she was having insomnia again!

Office the next day.

"Coffee!" A deep, powerful voice came over the telephone.

Xiaoxi Chen shook her head instantly and forced herself to return to her senses. Today she is tired, still struggling about what Mr. Fox said last night.

She makes a coffee to send in, when she was about to leave, suddenly heard Rouzhen Gu said: " Did not sleep last night?"

"Pardon sir?!" Xiaoxi Chen shivered and choose to remain silent, but suddenly it aroused his interest.

"Why do you look like you haven't slept last night?" he blurted out

Xiaoxi Chen looked up and saw him looking at her.

She cried for a long time last night that cause some sore in her eyes. After a long walk on the mountain road, she finally got a taxi and went home late last night. She cried so much that caused her having a bad feeling today and swelling appearance. When morning came, her eyes almost can't be open.

She saw him slightly raised his eyebrows ad there seemed to be a vague smile in his eyes. Xiaoxi Chen looked at Rouzhen unexpectedly feeling sour and infinite sadness. She knew that GU Corp paid great attention to the appearance of their employees, so it was normal for his boss to question her this way after seeing her horrible face today. Then she lowered her eyes and said: "Sorry, I am not feeling well today, next time I will make sure to come at work in a better condition!"

He stood up, skirted his desk and with a faint smell of tobacco and the familiar smell of perfume, suddenly swept over her, instantly, covered into her whole sense of smell.

Again, Xiaoxi Chen was sure, men smelled of tobacco are often depends on their physical activities. She knew she had smelled this kind of scent Rouzhen had.

"Take a half-day off and go home to get some sleep!" His voice dropped suddenly, with a silly ambiguity and the tantalizing breath lightly brushed against her breath. "I don't like to see women in despair!"

Xiaoxi Chen suddenly stiffened, almost forgot to breathe, she did not expect that Rouzhen Gu will approve her holiday, he has been very strict. How could he be so kind this time? But she immediately said: "Sir CEO, no need! I won't mess up with my work!"

"Go back home! If you made any mistakes because you're not okay that will be a big cost to the company. The damage might affect others too!" He said in a cold voice.

"But really don't need it, I can manage!" She used to do a lot of part-time work and only sleep for two to three hours a day was normal during her college days.

"Xiaoxi Chen, do you like to argue with me?" Rouzhen Gu raised his eyebrows, the tone has some impatience.

"I didn't want, Sir!" she whispers, takes a step back and Rouzhen leans too close to her and though they seem to have had a few flirtatious kisses, it's ultimately just a relationship between boss and subordinate. She did not think too much, but her heart was full of gratitude as he leaned over to care.

See she back off, Rouzhen Gu's mouth has been hung smiling, although he does not feel conscious. "Then go home and get some sleep now! Listen to me!"

The gentle tone made her sleepy for a while, but Xiaoxi only felt sad and made up her mind to finish the project collaboration with AVL and then she will resign.

"Thank you, sir CEO! Then I go back home now!" Xiaoxi Chen was grateful, and his voice was slight. She then walked away and went home.

Rouzhen Gu sight slightly narrowed after Xiaoxi left, looking at her leaving back, a victorious smile drawn in his handsome face, eyes flash a certain scenario of a happy family with her and his son.

How could Xiaoxi Chen sleep, she was at home all afternoon feeling uneasy, but she still called the teacher of Chao that she can't pick up her son. Tonight, she is going to meet Mr. Fox, she knows it's hard for her to escape!

Knowing that she could not escape, knowing that tonight she would lose herself again! Her heart was as cold as an ice cave in the North Pole.

9 p.m. villa number 15

Xiaoxi Chen appeared at the villa's door as discussed yesterday. The door opened. It's still the same fox mask but he changed another suit.

Xiaoxi Chen follows him and gets in.

Mr. Fox still smoked on the sofa, posture as elegant as a prince.

There was a long silence and finally, she spoke calmly. "After I promise, you must promise to let me see my son,"

"Three months deadline, if you do well, may see him soon! Depends on your performance!" His deep male voice sounded calm but his words pierced her heart like needles and she was filled with unbearable pain.

Xiaoxi Chen bite her lips, nodded,

"One more thing, during this period, you're not allowed to get close to any man, I like clean women, understand?"

She still clenched her lips and did not open her mouth. She never had a man, except Rouzhen Gu that kissed her before and only this Mr. Fox.

"Answer me!" he hissed

"Got it!" she opened her mouth and her voice was hoarse with a wail.

He heard her voice and looked sharply at her drooping head. "Come here!"

She took a step forward, very slow and her knees shaking.

But he pulled her and Xiaoxi Chen gasped, falling into his arms and looking up at him. He looked down and through the mask, his eyes locked her face tight.

He saw her red, swollen eyes, bloodshot eyes, crystal liquid flow from the corner of the eye, surging tears are dropping quickly.

"Cry for what?" His voice was a little irritated.

Her face slid feebly against his ċhėst, and a silent sense of hurt and grievance and humiliation overwhelmed her, make Xiaoxi Chen couldn't help crying out.

"I hate you! I hate!" she cried, turn her head and bite Mr. Fox hard on his shoulder!

Her heart was full of pain and shame!

She bites him hard, and accept it without words, he said nothing and let her do what she wants. He then carried her up to the second floor. It felt like the night five years ago, so helpless and can't do anything about it.

She tasted blood from his shoulder. She still sobbing and let him go, leaving a bloody stain on his shirt.

He felt the trembling of her thin body as she cried in his arms and tried to hold the tension and throb of her lower body, he closed his eyes slightly, opened them after blinking, and carried her to bed.

Her tears filled her face and he doesn't know what to do for a moment. He put her down and did not do anything else. He went to the window and lit a cigarette, took a sharp breath and was silent.

She sobbed, feeling that Mr. Fox had done nothing to her and opened her eyes and search his figure. Then she found the tall figure standing by the window, but though he remains silent, she surely feels the loneliness he had.

The smell of cigarettes came slowly, but Xiaoxi Chen's heartfelt inexplicable melancholy, she did not know why she can have such a feeling.

She looked at the settings in the room and saw that the furniture was still the same, untouched except that it was spotless and remains clean.

He did not speak, only smoked and she sat up in bed, curled up but did not know what to say. The atmosphere is so ambiguous, so dull and makes people don't know what to do.

"Go to bath!" suddenly he said coldly.

She was surprised and her face became hot.

Mr. Fox saw that her cheeks had turned red and that beauty had broken the man's heart, he turned his face over again, try to bear the agitation in his heart and took another stick of cigarette again.

Xiaoxi Chen swallowed her saliva and saw he turn his back over, she stood up and went to the bathroom in the bedroom. Then she heard him say: "There are pajamas in the cupboard!"

She was frightened and silent.

When she opened the cabinet, she stunned as she saw the same outfit as she had seen five years earlier.

"These are all prepared for you, five years ago!" she thought to herself. Her heart fluttered, why didn't throw it away?

He continued smoking, urging her suddenly. "Quick!"

She went into the bathroom. When she came out again, he still had a cigarette in his hand.

He looked up at her when he heard her open the door.

While, she was wearing a conservative cotton nightdress with slippers, water on her white feet and hair dripping down. Her wet hair hanging haphazardly on her shoulders and she was standing nervously at the bathroom door.

Nervous, uneasy, shy, helpless….

He looked at her with dark eyes, turned around, he pressed the remote, the lights went out!

"Hmmm!" As darkness fell, Xiaoxi Chen shouted as she was frightened.

There was silence, and she searched unconsciously for the place where Mr. Fox had just stood. In the darkness, she could not see her fingers. Even so, she felt the deep, searching look that locked her. His eyes were as sharp as a wild beast, ready to tear his prey into pieces on the spot.
