The trio were going around the town after their little massacre in one of the alleys. This would come back to haunt them eventually so why not enjoy the calm before the storm right? This was Rhaxtyx's thinking and talked to the group with a small smile.

"I know that we left there but I don't know what to do. Where shall we go?" (Rhaxtyx)

"A bath is probably out of the options now. So I don't know as well." (Miriam)

"Are we just aimlessly going then?" (Rhaxtyx)

"Mhm."

"It's best we find an inn first and also a shop that is willing to buy from us. So keep your eyes peeled." (Roman)

"Mhm."

So they kept on touring the city. Vulca was unlike any other cities Rhaxtyx have seen before. It was like two extreme edges coexisting. Most of the people were barren and plain, torn clothes and so poor that you can clearly count the ribs from a hundred meters away. On the other hand, there were people with clean and clearly expensive clothing with other people following them.

These following people were never human though and they had an iron collar around their necks. There were chains that were connected to the wrists of these rich people. They were clearly slaves but their complexions were ridiculous. It was as if they haven't been under the sunlight for several months. These elvish, dwarwish and sometimes animalkin slaves were clearly treated as animals.

Even though Rhaxtyx knew slavery and saw it being done many times in his world, none were this bad. He had a bad taste in his mouth. Seeing these beautiful races being treated like this…

"Ah!" (Elvish slave)

"Hmm?" (Rhaxtyx)

As they were walking around, one of the elvish slaves tripped and fell down with everything she carried. Seeing this, her pig owner started yelling and kicking her.

"What are you doing?! Did I tell you to stop?! Quickly get up!"

"Please! Don't- Don't-"

"Haaa? I said get up! This useless trash! Why did I even buy you?! Hm? What are you looking at you cretin!"

The owner started yelling at Rhaxtyx when he saw him watching. This clearly angered Rhaxtyx but Miriam spoke up when he was about to start.

"We are truly sorry sir. We were looking at the shop behind you."

"Hmph. You bumpkins."

With a harrumph, the owner walked away while dragging the elvish slaves.

"Master, you have to be more careful. Even in the Dynasties slavery is common and is even encouraged. These people hate the thought of other humanoid races." (Miriam)

"Sh*t! To see the elegant and noble Elvhen race being treated like this…"

"But it is norm in this kingdom, especially in Vulca. Non-humans will be slaves."

"What do you think about this, Miriam?"

Rhaxtyx's voice was serious and his gaze at Miriam was piercing as well. She couldn't help but gulp in fear.

"I didn't have that freedom. As my thoughts weren't even mine, I've never thought about anything."

"Well, you are free now. So you better start thinking."

Then without saying anything else, he started walking. Miriam was deeply afraid of Rhaxtyx this time and her eyes were flickering.

As they were going around the town in a carriage, some curious eyes were on them. They were very persistent and they would follow them everywhere. The party tried to lose them and succeeded a couple of times but they always followed them again.

"Master. There seems to be-"

"I felt as well. Just some flies. Leave them be."

"As you wish."

A shop caught their eye in the city center. This shop was unlike any other they had seen in the city. It was quite literally sparkling all over and was designed to catch people's gazes on it. It had four floors and every one looked more extravagant than the other.

"This really disturbing my eyes." (Rhaxtyx)

"Because of the wealthy and poor comparison?" (Miriam)

"No it literally disturbs my eyes. I think it's the way it shines. Like someone is casting a light spell directly in my eyes or something."

"I heard the situation about Vulca but I've never knew it was this bad." (Roman)

"You know something Roman?"

"I heard that the city lord here is a power maniac and a money grubber, as in he would do anything for money and prestige. But making his own people suffer this much really makes me sick in the stomach."

"I don't plan on staying here too long so let's go in shall we?" (Rhaxtyx)

He then walked in the building. Inside was more daring and had more grandeur. Red carpets and purple banners everywhere. Everything that can be silk was silk and the color selection was between purple, red and gold. This place was really daring and it made clear that not everyone was eligible to enter.

Once they entered, one of the clerks approached and spoke in a tone that was neither offending nor respectful.

"Welcome to Vulca House of Riches. Here you can find every kind of treasure at your disposal. How may I be of service?" (Clerk)

"Ah hello! We wanted to sell some items so I wanted to inquire about that. This place looked like the only place that could buy my wares." (Rhaxtyx)

"What kind of items are you wishing to sell?"

Once he heard the word 'for sale', the clerk instantly beamed with a smile and started talking in a more respectful manner. While he talked he led the trio to upstairs towards a fairly large meeting room.

There were already servants ready inside beside a large oval desk and they were pouring tea into three luxurious looking cups.

"We can be more at ease while we have our talk, in here. So what kinds of items are we talking about?" (Clerk)

"Mainly weapon and armor of above average quality. Mostly mass produced items fitting for harsh use." (Roman)

Roman took out a couple daggers and a gauntlet from his backpack to show them to the clerk. He took it with a weird gaze in his eyes and put his loupe on and started looking at it. Rhaxtyx focused on this loupe and saw that there were some tiny, minute sparkles coming out of it.

"Hmm. It is certainly not magically enhanced… It really is fit for army of a small-scale force."

Said the controller after putting down his loupe.

"Indeed. I gather from your grandeur that you also have business deals with the city lord?" (Rhaxtyx)

"I cannot accept or deny that."

"That is answer enough. You can sell these items to the lord at a fair price don't you think?" (Rhaxtyx)

"I can yes. But don't you think that the lord also has his own smiths that are capable of creating these?"

"It would be foolish to think like so. But creating weapons from scratch takes enough time and a supply this big would be bought regardless. I have a full carriage at the entrance waiting for purchase. My supply is enough to fill up a regular store." (Roman)

"You are correct. But I'm afraid I have to consult to my supervisor about this. Please wait a moment."

The clerk got up while speaking and went towards the door. After making the trio wait for about ten minutes, the clerk returned with a fat man wearing formal clothes. This fat man walked like he owned the place and his belly would dance with every step.

"So what is this about a full carriage of arms?"

"Please meet Sir Bruno Gothswort, manager." (Clerk)

"Pleased to meet you mister manager." (Roman)

"Greetings!" (Rhaxtyx)

"…" (Miriam)

The trio gave their own greetings and looked towards the manager. His smug face had a constant frown and his gaze was condescending.

"So? My time is precious I'll have you know."

"We are here to sell our wares." (Rhaxtyx)

"I see… Well, where are they then?!" (Bruno Gothswort)

Rhaxtyx pointed at the daggers and the gauntlet on the table and looked at the manager. The manager, uncaringly took the daggers on his hands and looked all over them. He scoffed and threw them on the table before taking the gauntlet. After scoffing at it again and throwing on the table he spoke with a haughty expression.

"Very well. These will be enough for decent uses." (Bruno Gothswort)

Sir Bruno talked while sitting on a chair. His hands came together and his face held a business smile on it.

"And how many did you say you had?" (Bruno Gothswort)

"A full carriage." (Roman)

"I see. Then we shall buy them all." (Bruno Gothswort)

"As you wish. How much money are you willing to buy them for, if I may ask?" (Roman)

"Considering everything, and you also said that a full carriage, hmm… a price of 60 gold pieces should be fair no?"

"60?! If I sold them all individually, I would earn more!" (Roman)

"Then try and sell them individually."

The manager tried to trap them and it seemed like it worked a bit. Rhaxtyx was fine as he didn't know the economy of this world but Miriam's eyebrows were knit and Roman was breathing from his mouth and had his teeth clenched. But they had not much to do. Carrying that much stuff around would be a pain and they had to sell it. Their only option was that store.

"Haah fine! Take them." (Roman)

"There you go. It wasn't that hard now was it? Tell them to empty the carriage."

"Yes milord." (Clerk)

After their meeting was over, Sir Bruno practically shooed them away and started sipping his tea while eyeing a female elven servant. They descended led by the same clerk that brought them upstairs. There were counters and various stalls around them in one room they were passing that showcased many items. While they were passing by one of these counters, Yggdrasil talked to Rhaxtyx.

"Huh?! Hey what is that? " (Yggdrasil)

'What is it?' (Rhaxtyx)

"That's strange. What is on that counter?"

'It looks like a pendant. Let me ask.'

"Hey what is that?"

The pendant had exquisite carvings on it. It was made from silver and looked like an expensive pocket watch.

"That pendant is the heirloom of an old family. We have it in our stocks as a promise." (Clerk)

"What does it do? Is it a watch or something?"

"No. Frankly we don't know what's inside as we couldn't open it."

"Then why are you selling it?" (Roman)

"Like I said, a promise."

"How much is it?" (Rhaxtyx)

"30 gold."

"What?! 30 gold!? That?! Why don't you steal money instead! It is easier than scamming!" (Roman)

"Like I said. It is a promise, including the price. You can not buy it if you want."

"Buy it!"

'Why?'

"I feel a familiarity from it. That pendant is not simple. Don't miss it!"

'Okay.'

"I'll buy it" (Rhaxtyx)

"Are you out of your mind?!" (Roman)

"Master are you sure?"

Rhaxtyx gave a small nod and looked at the clerk with determined eyes.

"Very well. That pendant is yours now."

'I bought it you stupid tree. You better know what you're doing or I'll really use you in winter!' (Rhaxrtx)

"Shut up! I know what I'm doing okay! You are the tree!" (Yggdrasil)

After that, they were led to the cash point near the entrance with the pendant to receive it and their money. Pendant had a beautiful tree carved on it and it gave off freshness. He unhurriedly put it around his neck and turned to Roman and Miriam to ask for their opinion.

"I think it look good on you master but why did you buy it? It is clearly useless."

Asked Miriam while they exited the building. They were walking towards their cart. There were more people around them than they entered but there wasn't any commotion so they didn't mind it.

"I had a hunch. More importantly, what shall we do now? I think we don't have anything else to do in this rundown city."

"You are right. Even the city guard is after us. It would be better for us to leave. I'm thinking maybe towards the inner parts of the kingdom?" (Roman)

Even though Roman asked a question he didn't get an answer. When they looked at Rhaxtyx, they felt a chill run down their spine as there was a coldness permeating from him. His eyes were cold and they were deeply terrified by this man. When they looked at where he was looking though, they understood.

There was a cage being escorted by 4 soldiers in heavy armor. They had an imposing aura around them and their gazes were sending chills down the people's spines. The important thing is what was inside the cage. In there was a little child with wolf like ears. Her eyes were closed and her face was bloodied and bruised. It was obvious she was beaten up by these soldiers. She was hugging something tiny inside her little arms. It was a wolf cub, and its eyes were closed as well.

Blood was everywhere inside the cage and it was even spilling on the road. The worst thing was though, the child was okay. The blood belonged to the wolf cub as it smeared across child's clothes and arms.

The reason for Rhaxtyx's anger was, they knew this child. It was Kai, the wolf kin child they met before coming to Vulca. She was currently unconscious and was holding her friend wolf cub in her arms, dead.

Rhaxtyx slowly spoke to Miriam without looking at her.

"Miriam. Don't you dare stop me this time."
