The Demon Of Ohara

Chapter 11 - 10

After an unknown amount of time Robin finally woke up, she felt completely refreshed both mentally and physically. She knew no matter which path she took she needed strength, just that it was upto her how she used her strength.

She realized that she was now no longer on a boat but on a shore, and her boat was no where to be found. There was a thick fog on the sea which prevented her see any further than a few meter from the shore. She could also sense a feeling of extreme danger from the fog as if telling her only safe place is the land.

When she looked side ways she could see that the beach she was on extended infinitely on both sides and the beach was just 10 meters in width after 10 meters was a dense forest. Surprisingly in front of her was a path that led deeper into the forest, after running a certain distance in both directions she realized that if she wanted to go into the land she needed to take the path and entry from everywhere else seemed impossible as there seemed to be no opening to enter due the trees acting as a natural fence.

She decided to tread the only path available carefully, she expanded her sense to her maximum range to avoid any ambushes or surprise attacks by the inhabitants of the jungle.

After walking for a while he arrived in front of wall that was engraved with letters from ancient language. Robin was stunned and surprised to this as she never expected to see the language appear on anything except poneglyphs. She knew the was not a poneglyphs as poneglyphs were indestructible and seemed immune to passage of time. But the wall before her was clearly in ruins and when is applied a bit of force on the edges of the wall it broke off.

The text on the wall read "The just Goddess presides over us all. The future of the empire rests in her future hands." this was written in the largest font size compared to rest of the text which read

" The custom of the Lord's Trial was upheld throughout the founding years of the Empire. Vxxxxx's successor, Cxxxxx, was a low-born legionnaire, the lone survivor of a labyrinth that claimed the lives of every high-born contender, including Vxxxxx's only son.

Cxxxxx proved to be every bit the emperor that Vxxxx was.

Alas, the Lord's Labyrinth was corrupted by those with the vanity to consider their blood more precious than their Empire. Selfish blood breeds selfish times, and the Empire paid for it with its own blood."

Although the names of the people was very hard for Robin to read she understood that the island contained a labyrinth that was used as test to select the ruler of an empire. She also understood that only by completing the trial would she be allowed to leave the island. So her only way was forward, into the labyrinth.

After walking some distance she found a huge gate and a bronze plaque that read " You are about to enter the first of the four lord's labyrinth. This labyrinth is the strength labyrinth, here there a four trials and each trial is to be completed with in span of two years. Being unable to complete within the time frame would result in your failure and in the labyrinth failure means death."

Even though Robin had no clue what awaited her in the labyrinth she knew is she wanted strength to walk her own path she needs to complete this labyrinth with any means necessary. Steeling her resolve once again Robin walked towards the gate to push it open, but as soon as she touched the door she could feel the space around her twist and found herself being teleported in front of an active volcano.
