Just as Nico Robin was done practicing her martial arts the sun had already risen, seeing this she ran back towards where she was staying. When she was 2 years old, her mother had left her in care of her uncle and aunt, and set sail to achieve the dream that she and her husband had dreamed off.

Although Robin was a bit disheartened she knew for her mom to be truly happy she had to chase her dream. One of the main driving force for her continuous practice and cultivation was to get enough strength so that she could travel with her mom once she returns. Her mom before leaving had made her eat a fruit that was disgusting in taste. She later learnt from Professor Clover that it was a devil fruit and it gave powers to the person who ate it. The powers depended on the fruit, the fruit she ate was called Flower Flower Fruit. After eating the fruit when she next meditated, she discovered a pink flower in her dantian. When she focused her attention on the flower she was somehow able to create extra limbs on any surface by creating and melding lots of flower petals. At first her artificial limbs could only exert a fraction of strength her own limbs could exert but soon with practice she was able to exert the same amount of force from the artificial limbs as from her original ones. Soon she also discovered that she could fuse multiple limbs to form a giant limb and after a couple of years of practice she was able to create clones of herself.

The Qi she was cultivating synchronized with devil fruit as she discovered that number of limbs and maximum range at which she could spawn a limb depended on her Qi i.e every time she brokethrough in her cultivation level her control and power of devil fruit increased. Also the Qi could help her overcome the common weakness of devil fruit users which was the sea. When she covered her arms with Qi she could swim and stay in sea water. Another weakness she had discovered was that any injury sustained by the artificial limb or the clone would affect the original too.

But all this practice had alienated her from the kids around her as they were afraid of her powers and even many off the a.d.u.l.ts were freaked out by her power and called her a devil behind her back. Luckily since she had already lived an entire lifetime such things did not damage her spirit in the slightest. Sadly even her aunt was one among these ignorant a.d.u.l.ts and made her life difficult by forcing her to do chores and menial tasks, but little did she know that Robin used these as an exercise to improve her devil fruit powers.

Once she finished all the chores she headed towards the library. Apart from cultivating and martial art practice she loved reading. The library was a part of professor Clover's archaeological Lab which as near a humongous tree called tree of knowledge. Here she had learnt about the world, various locations, sea kings, mermaids, sky islands and most importantly about Haki.
