The Devil's Sleeping Beauty

"Ning-ge, thank you for the help. I will have to leave now since it's getting late for Xiao Gua. Tell Sinian-ge that I will message him my address. He can stay with us while he's here in the country." Xia Meilin said as calm as she could manage.

Feng Ning didn't notice anything wrong from XIa Meilin's calm expression so he nodded and said, "Okay. Do you want me to drop you?"

She shook her head a bit, "I have a car." She smiled as she gently stroked Little Melon's hair.

Little Melon was resting his head on her shoulder while he was being carried. Because of his salty eyes and tired body, Little Melon was able to fall fast asleep.

"I see... I am happy to see you again. Maybe we can go out for lunch some time?"

"Mm, I would love that." When she noticed Lu Xian Yu enter the dining hall, her heart became restless. "I-I will leave now. See you later, Ning-ge."

She hurriedly turned and left him without waiting for his reply. Feng Ning wondered why she suddenly looked so nervous. He wanted to spend more time with her but it looked like it would need to wait.

Xia Sinian noticed his sister leaving, he was about to call out to her though he stopped upon seeing a certain guy. His eyes went wide in realization when he saw him. Was it possible that Little Melon's father was someone from the Lu family?

When Xia Meilin arrived home, she went and placed Little Melon gently on the bed, making sure that he won't wake up.

She leaned down and kissed his forehead, "Good night, my love." She whispered softly after putting the blanket on him.

She returned to her room and took a quick shower. She went out in her pajamas with the design of cat paw print on it. After drying her hair, she lied down on her bed, giving a long and heavy sigh.

She couldn't stop thinking of what happened earlier. Did Lu Yifeng notice his resemblance with Little Melon? He must have noticed it, right? She found it hard to believe that the man she saw earlier wasn't Lu Yifeng.

She clenched her fists. What should she do now? Would he come after her to ask her about Little Melon, or would he ignore this chanced meeting? She was hoping that it would be the latter one. She moved to London to hide her son and yet, she never expected that the man himself would appear in front of her after four years.

Xia Meilin was so fl.u.s.tered she couldn't sleep, that's why she went to the living room to watch some TV show to get her mind distracted.

It was not long before she got a call from her brother, her eyes darkened when she saw the caller ID. She still remembered how he bullied Little Melon earlier. Despite feeling angry at him, she answered the call, "Hello?"

"I'm in front of your place."

"Okay." She ended the call after.

She went out of the living room and went to open the door for him.

Xia Sinian looked at her for a while when he saw her in her pajamas. His sister was the same as ever, she loved wearing pajamas with cute prints on it, especially prints related to cats. Her hair was tied into a messy bun and her bare face was so captivating like that of a fine and smooth jade's.

He entered her house, "I need to talk with you about something."

"Same here." Xia Meilin closed the door behind her before she followed her brother into the living room.

As soon as they sat, the air around them became heavy. She was glaring daggers at him as she asked him pointedly, "Tell me, brother, do you still hate Xiao Gua?"

"I do. I will never accept him into the family. He's the son of a criminal," said Xia Sinian as honest as he possibly can be.

"Oh? Are you saying that I'm a criminal then?" She crossed her arms.

"That's not what I mean." Xia Sinian finally looked at her. "You are my sister and I know that you gave birth to him but I cannot accept him, Meilin. I will never forgive what his father did to you." Especially when his father is actually part of the underground world. It was only right to label him as a criminal.

She shook her head, "You can hate his father but you are not allowed to hate Xiao Gua. He is innocent of his father's faults. Xiao Gua is MY son, if you can't accept him because of his father then at least accept him because of me. I really love Xiao Gua, brother. I never hated him even once since I know that Xiao Gua is innocent. It was not his fault that his father is... a criminal. He was born into this world without knowing anything so how can you blame him?"

Xia Sinian lowered his head in guilt since what Xia Meilin said was true. He let out a long sigh, it was still hard for him to accept the boy even if that was the case. "Well then... Are you agreeing that the father of that boy... is Lu Xian Yu?"

Regardless of the hate Xia Sinian started feeling for Lu Xian Yu, he knew that he would not be able to do anything to him because of his strong and dark background. Xia Sinian was an intelligent man, that's why he knew that if he tried to deal with the Lu family, the outcome wouldn't be good..

... But it would be nice if Xia Sinian could beat Lu Xian Yu one day.

Xia Meilin's eyes went wide when she heard his words. "Lu... Xian Yu? Wasn't he Lu Yifeng?"

He knitted his brows together, "Lu Yifeng? Not Lu Xian Yu?" How could his beloved sister get in trouble with someone more dangerous than Lu Xian Yu?

Lu Yifeng was Xia Sinian's business partner; he just recently came into partnership with the man.

"Brother, that guy in the banquet, is he not Lu Yifeng?"

Xia Sinian shook his head. "Yes, he's not. That man is his brother, Lu Xian Yu. I will be able to understand if he's the one who made you pregnant, but Lu Yifeng? That's... impossible." Everyone in the business world knew that he was gay, he was a man who was rarely seen with women. There were even rumors that he was in a relationship with his assistant since he was mostly seen together with him.

Xia Meilin was confused. Why did her brother say that? "Lu Xian Yu is the stoic man while Lu Yifeng is the Casanova, right?"

Xia Sinian sighed as he shook his head, "You got it all wrong. That's what the rumors said but it's actually the opposite. That is why I wouldn't be surprised if Lu Xian Yu was the one that laid his hands on you, but Lu Yifeng? That's not possible." He leaned against the sofa. "Since Lu Yifeng and Lu Xian Yu are twins, other than their business partners, the media and the people outside of work would always mistake them for being the other."
