The Devil's Sleeping Beauty

They arrived at Xia family manor where Xia Jiamu and Ji Ruo was already waiting at the entrance.

As they entered, Little Melon was being carried by Lu Yifeng in his arms. The little boy was so happy that he finally has a father. In a very short span of time, he was already attached to him.

When they reached the door, Ji Ruo and Xia Jiamu led them to the living room.

Both elders gave Lu Yifeng a glance and they couldn't deny the similarities the two have in their features.

Ever since Lu Yifeng woke the night where his brother gave him a call about Xia Meilin and Little Melon, Lu Yifeng made all the preparations needed, including meeting Xia Meilin's grandparents.

He admitted to them that he was the man who i.m.p.r.e.g.n.a.t.ed Xia Meilin. The Xia elders were startled upon learning that it was someone powerful, someone, from the Lu family. Ji Ruo almost fainted when she heard it from him. Lu Yifeng was there to receive their punishment for his sins.

To oppose someone like Lu Yifeng, Xia Jiamu didn't know what to do but Ji Ruo's anger flared up that she didn't even bat an eye when she gave him a hard slap. Aside from that, she called the Xia bodyguards and ordered them to beat him up and torture him. At first, Xia Jiamu tried to stop his wife but Lu Yifeng interfered by saying that he was there to ask for their forgiveness that's why he was willing to whatever punishment they would give him.

After hearing his words, the calm and collected Xia Jiamu erupted. Lu Yifeng received a good beating from the Xia elders, they vented out all the grudges that their granddaughter suffered. Although it wasn't just simple beatings that Lu Yifeng received from them...

Lu Yifeng endured the torture that they gave him. In order to gain their recognition, he was willing to suffer. Despite the whipping and the beatings they gave him every day when he visited, he never wavered. Seeing his determination and sincerity the elders couldn't refrain themselves to give him a chance, especially when they saw how persistent he was even if he was already at death's door.

Lu Yifeng was an adamant person, his resolution to take the mother and son was firm even if he has to undergo the consequences.

"Come here to grandma, Xiao Gua." Ji Ruo said with a smile.

Little Melon quickly jumped off from his father's hold. "Grandma!" He beamed with open arms.

Ji Ruo was so happy to finally see her great-grandson. She took Little Melon to her seat. He was like a fluffy bear made up of boundless energy that brought strength and happiness to her.

Xia Sinian was quietly watching from the sidelines. He was actually surprised by the calmness of his grandparents after seeing Lu Yifeng, it was as though they were expecting for him to come.

Xia Meilin had so many questions in her mind. Why were her grandparents acting as if they weren't affected by Lu Yifeng's presence? What was happening?

"Meilin, I want to discuss something with you." Xia Jiamu said with a serious look on his face.

In the living room...

"I know that it was so sudden but since we're all here, I would like to discuss Meilin's marriage with Lu Yifeng." Xia Jiamu said earnestly.

Xia Meilin was startled with the words that suddenly came out from her grandfather's lips. How could her grandfather abruptly bring this up?

Xia Jiamu nodded at Ji Ruo, signaling her to take Little Melon outside.

She stood up and clasped Little Melon's hand. "Xiao Gua, do you want to try the cupcakes that grandma baked?"

Little Melon's eyes sparkled upon hearing the word 'cupcake'. "Okay! Mello loves cupcakes!"

"Grandpa, what do you mean by marriage? This is unacceptable! I can't allow Xiao Mei to marry him! He's her rapist!" Xia Sinian shouted angrily after Little Melon and Ji Ruo left.

Marriage? How can they force his sister to marry her own rapist?! That was outrageous!

Xia Jiamu rested his back against the chair, "I know that. Your grandma and I already knew that Lu Yifeng was the man who was with her that night."

"I will not marry him!" Xia Meilin angrily said. "How can you do this to me, grandpa? If you already know that he was the man who ruined me then why are you allowing me to be with him?!"

She would never forgive the man who violated her let alone to live together with him in one roof to steal her freedom!

She glared daggers at Lu Yifeng, "I will never marry you even if you'll be the last man on earth."

Xia Jiamu sighed, he was expecting something like this to happen. He looked at Lu Yifeng indicating him to intervene.

Lu Yifeng was seated on the sofa like a king on his throne, giving off a noble air around him. He looked at her and asked, "Will you still say that even if the Xia family business will be at stake?"

"Are you willing to sacrifice your family business? All the hard work that your grandfather, father, and brother did to bring it to where it is today will go to waste. Think carefully." He enunciated each word sending chills down their spines.

Xia Meilin clenched her fists and gritted her teeth. How could he use her family against her?! He was such a ruthless man indeed!

She stood up from her seat and stomped her way to him, "You bastard!" She raised her hand and was about to slap him but Lu Yifeng caught her wrist just in time.

"Then let's have it the hard way, I will destroy the Xia family and I will also take our son from you."

Lu Yifeng knew that it was wrong to force her but if he wanted to have her back then he didn't have a choice but act cold to her at that moment. He already planned on making things right after their marriage. He just wanted to secure her and have her before the person he hated so much could come and steal her from him. If that man came then Lu Yifeng would lose his chance from having her.

"You wouldn't dare!"

Lu Yifeng didn't answer, he just stared at her with a blank look on his face. When Xia Meilin saw this, she knew that Lu Yifeng was being serious.

She pulled back her hand from him which Lu Yifeng didn't stop before she ran out of the room instead.

Xia Meilin's only source of weakness was her beloved family. If he would use them against her then she wouldn't be able to retaliate. Deep inside she knew that she was scared of him, after all, he was her rapist; he was someone that made her whole body filled with fear. She couldn't do anything against him that's why she reluctantly admitted to Little Melon that he was his father.

When her mind traveled back to that night it still scared the living daylights out of her. The thought that no one came to save her from the nightmare that Lu Yifeng brought still haunted her. It reminded her of not being able to fight back while being devoured, she was traumatized. Since then, she couldn't even fathom the thought of being alone in a room with a man, how much more if she has to live under the same roof with the person who put her through all of this?

Xia Sinian watched his sister run out of the living room. He was ashamed of himself, he was her brother yet he couldn't do anything against Lu Yifeng to protect her. What kind of brother was he? He was supposed to be his little sister's knight in shining armor whenever she was put in a dilemma but he felt his feet rooted on the floor. He could only observe from sidelines as Lu Yifeng threatened her.
