The Devil's Sleeping Beauty

"Dada!" Little Melon ran and hugged his father's leg when he saw him by the house's entrance.

Lu Yifeng bent down to pat his son's head. "Welcome home."

"Where's momma?" Little Melon asked as he looked up at his father with his big round eyes.

"She's still asleep."

"Did you tire her out last night?" Jing Yue asked as she walked towards him. "Ah, I can't wait to have another grandchild. This time, I want a granddaughter."

Lu Yifeng nodded, "I will take note of that."

"You definitely should. Anyway, I won't be staying long here. I have to go back to Guangzhou since there are matters that I should take care."

"Mami is leaving?" Little Melon went to hug Jing Yue's leg this time.

"Oh sweetie." Jing Yue carried Little Melon in her arms, "Don't worry, we will see each other soon. I will come and visit you next time, okay?"

"Okay..." Little Melon hugged her by her neck. "Take care on your way back, okay? Mami should call Mello when mami arrives in her home." He gave a soft peck on her cheek.

Jing Yue's heart melted with the way Little Melon was, he was too adorable. "I promise to call you."

She handed Little Melon to Lu Yifeng, "Gua'er is a good child. I'm actually happy that you met Xiao Mei. She raised her son well."

Lu Yifeng smiled in agreement, "Mm."

"Well then, I should leave now. I have a flight to catch up. Visit me there with your family if you have time. Grandfather will love your wife and son once he gets to know them. You should drag Xian Yu with you." She sighed, "That child, I don't know what he's doing with his life."

"Don't worry, mother. I will personally take care of Xian Yu."

"You should. Get him to marry someone too." She heaved out another sigh because of Lu Xian Yu. "Anyway, I'll be going now."

Little Melon waved his small hand. "Bye bye, mami."

Jing Yue waved back with a smile on her face before she went back in the car.

It was hard for Xia Meilin to sleep that night. Her mind couldn't stop thinking of what happened between Lu Yifeng and her.

Knowing the truth from him made her in a mess. She was only able to sleep when her eyes became heavy.

When she woke up, the first thing that greeted her was Little Melon's figure. He was sitting down on her side and was looking at the picture book he brought.

A smile instantly appeared on her lips when she saw her son, "Good morning, baby."

Little Melon turned and grinned when he saw that his mother was finally awake. He instantly went and hugged her, "Good morning, momma!"

He kissed her cheek before he cuddled to her, "Mello was waiting for momma to wake up."

"And now, I'm awake." She nuzzled his nose which made Little Melon giggle. "I heard that you visited grandma and grandpa, how did it went?"

"Great! Grandpa and grandma was happy when Mello and mami visited them!" He happily exclaimed. "You know, momma, Mello saw uncle Sinian too and he gave Mello a new book!"

She blinked a few times, "Brother was there too?"

Little Mello nodded his head. "Yes! Uncle Sinian said that he was visiting grandma and grandpa. Ehehe~ uncle Sinian taught Mello how to swim too! Mami and grandma were afraid of water and didn't know how to swim so Mello only swam with uncle Sinian and grandpa."

Little Melon continued telling her what happened yesterday and he looked so happy while doing so. Xia Meilin continued to listen at him. He was definitely the light of her life.

While Little Melon continued on telling his stories, Lu Yifeng came in while holding a tray of food for them.

He cleared his throat to get their attention and he successfully did since they turned their heads to him.

Xia Meilin sat down with an uneasy look on her face while Little Melon was smiling brightly at his father.

"It's almost time for lunch. Here, you can have your brunch now." Since he was holding a bed tray with folding legs, it was easy to set it up on the bed.

"Um... you really don't have to do this." A small blush was seen on her cheeks as she tried to move away from him.

"I already did. Besides, mother left earlier so she won't be joining us anymore." He handed her the chopsticks.

She blinked a few times, accepting the chopsticks. "Mother left? You should have wake me up. I could have at least went to see her off..."

"She was in a hurry." This was the only reason he can give her. "Now eat."

Xia Meilin pouted a bit before she started eating the food he brought.

Little Melon crawled and went to sit on his father's lap. "Dada, when can Mello go to school?"

He patted his head, "Soon. I have already chosen a school for you."

"You did?" Xia Meilin asked in surprise.

Lu Yifeng nodded. "Yes."

"Is it big?" Little Melon's eyes were sparkling when he asked this.

"Mm. It is."

"Does it have playground?"

"Mm."

"Will there be lot of kids?"

"Mm. A lot."

"Yay! Mello can't wait to go to school!" He happily hugged his father, "Thank you, dada!"

Lu Yifeng ended up flinching a bit because of his sudden hug but nonetheless, he tried to keep his pain from them.

Xia Meilin noticed it that was why, she said, "Come here, Xiao Gua, help mommy finish the food."

"Okay!"

Lu Yifeng mouthed a thanks to her but it only made Xia Meilin stick her tongue out.. She was only doing it since she wanted Little Melon's attention, she wasn't doing it for him.

She was supposed to be the one to search and choose a school for her son and yet, Lu Yifeng was one step ahead of her. He took away all the glory. He was stealing Little Melon away from her again.
