The Devil's Sleeping Beauty

As a man who wanted to have a great-grandchild, Lu Qian was happy to see Little Melon. He was his grandson's child after all.

At first, when Lu Qian learned that his grandson, Lu Yifeng married someone else other than Bai Xiu Ying, he got angry at him. He was about to summon Lu Yifeng and ask him about this but he decided to look at the background of the girl he married first. He needed to find something against her so that he could make Lu Yifeng divorce her.

He saw in the news that Lu Yifeng and Xia Meilin was married for four years. Obviously, Lu Qian didn't believe that. If Lu Yifeng married a woman for that long, he should have found it out already.

Lu Qian found out the real relationship between Lu Yifeng and Xia Meilin. They just shared one night with each other and because of that, Little Melon was made.

Xia Meilin was a well-known pianist in the country, and this reputation of her has reached Lu Qian. He didn't really mind that Lu Yifeng married Xia Meilin because she came from a good family even if it wasn't as good as the Bai family.

What attracted Lu Qian in the report he received was Lu Yifeng and Xia Meilin's son, Little Melon.

Little Melon was known as a prodigy just like his mother. He was considered a genius in playing the piano. He may have not attended Xia Meilin's concert but he watched it online.

The last part, where Little Melon joined his mother was something that fascinated him. Little Melon wasn't like any other kids, he was intelligent and his piano skills was something not to be taken lightly.

After meeting Little Melon in person, Lu Qian was sure that the little boy was taught well. He couldn't help but feel proud to have a talented grandson.

Having two great people as parents, they were able to make such a beautiful and talented child.

"Grandfather, this is my wife, Xia Meilin." Lu Yifeng introduced as he and Xia Meilin stood before the old man.

Lu Qian looked at Xia Meilin for a while. He could tell that she was nervous but she was able to manage to maintain a calm front. He smirked inwardly as he looked at her. Xia Meilin reminded him of someone...

"It's nice to meet you, grandpa Lu." Xia Meilin politely bowed at him.

Lu Qian gave her a nod in acknowledgment, "Likewise, Mrs. Lu." before he turned to look at her grandparents.

Xia Meilin turned to Lu Yifeng, relief in her eyes. Was that a sign that Lu Qian accepted her?

Lu Yifeng smiled at his wife and nodded. He was sure that his grandfather has taken a liking to Xia Meilin because of their son.

"Hey! Old man Lu!" Xia Jiamu grinned when he saw Lu Qian. "Come here and sit with us!"

Lu Qian's brow twitched. Xia Jiamu was still the same as ever.

Ji Ruo hit him on his arm, "What are you, a kid? Act your age old man!"

Lu Qian sighed as he thought that Ji Ruo was still aggressive as ever.

"Do you know the Xia elders, grandfather?" Jing Yue asked. From the look of it, it seemed like they know each other.

"Old friends." This was Lu Qian's only response before he went to join the oldies table.

Once upon a time, these three oldies were all in the same circle of friends during their time in a military camp.

Xia Meilin and Lu Yifeng looked at each other. Was this a good thing?

"I heard that you gave my grandson a good beating, Ji Ruo." Lu Qian said as he sat on a chair beside Xia Jiamu.

"He needs to be taught." Ji Ruo crossed her arms. She took a glance at Xia Meilin and Lu Yifeng. Seeing that they were now in good terms, she nodded at herself. "A man should always treat a woman right."

Meanwhile, Lu Xian Yu went to his mother with Li Bingbing on his side.

"Hey, mom."

Jing Yue turned and saw her son, she took a quick glance at Li Bingbing. "Have you finally found yourself a wife?"

"I am just his friend, Madam Lu." Li Bingbing quickly said. Making sure that Lu Xian Yu won't be able to say anything strange to anyone anymore.

"Ah... I thought he finally found one." Jing Yue sighed. She didn't mind the kind of girl Lu Xian Yu would choose since he was a difficult case. As long as he has chosen a woman to marry, she would accept her.

Lu Xian Yu narrowed his eyes at what Li Bingbing did. He hated it whenever she refer to him as 'friend'.

Li Bingbing quickly pulled her hand away and turned away from Lu Xian Yu, leaving him there. This was the only chance she had to escape his grasp.

Li Bingbing went towards Little Melon. "Hi there, cupcake."

"Sister Bingbing!" Little Melon smiled at her.

"Here's a simple gift from me." Li Bingbing knelt in front of him before she took a small box from her pocket.

Little Melon quickly opened the small box and inside it was a Puss in Boots keychain. Little Melon couldn't help but grin when he saw the adorable keychain. "Mello loves it! Thank you, Sis Bingbing!"

Since Li Bingbing was kneeling in front of him, he gave her a hug.

"I still have one more but your uncle Xian Yu have it so you'll see it later once you get home." She hugged him back.

"Okay! Mello can't wait to see the other gifts!"

She pulled away from the hug and patted his head. "I am a busy woman, I have to go now, okay? I'm so happy that I was able to attend your celebration."

"Sister Bingbing is leaving already?" Little Melon's shoulders slouched down.

"I need to go somewhere else, I'll make it up to you next time, okay?"

"Sister Bingbing should visit Mello at home." Little Melon said while looking up at her.

Li Bingbing grinned at him. "I will." She turned to Xia Meilin and Lu Yifeng. "Both of you are doing well as parents."

"Are you sure you want to leave early?" Xia Meilin could see that there was something wrong with Li Bingbing even if she was all smiling... something was bothering her.

"Yes, I want to rest early tonight."
