11. The Truth

Translator: Ning LL

Two days had already passed and the Transmigration Palace still remained clouded.

The Lord of the Palace sat upright without any expression on his face. A group of officials who were kneeling in front of him all looked at each other, not knowing why their lord had ordered them urgently to look for a wandering soul who died just two days ago.

But they didn’t have the right to question anything the lord had asked them to do. So the only thing they needed to do was reporting the result.

“You couldn’t find that wandering soul anywhere, is that so?” After being lost in his thought for a while, the lord said that slowly.

Black Bull Demon, the leader of the officials stood up and replied reverently, “My lord, I have sent everyone to search the whole palace and the periphery of the Underworld. They didn’t find the wandering soul you have mentioned, but…”

Speaking of that, Black Bull Demon paused, seeming to be hesitating if he should continue to speak.

“But?” The lord said that with a ray of cold light shooting from his eyes.

Black Bull Demon got nervous and told the lord all the information he got not long ago.

“An hour ago, an incredible thing happened on the Bridge of Sigh. A wandering soul with golden light all over his body suddenly appeared on the Three Lives Stone. No one knew what had happened to that soul. Also, the moment the Phoenix King of the Underworld arrived there, the wandering soul was suddenly wrapped in the green light which was given out from the Three Lives Stone. The Phoenix King couldn’t understand what happened, either. I was wondering if that golden soul was the wandering soul you have been looking for, my lord.”

The lord let out a slight sigh and waved to the officials including the Black Bull Demon.

“Forget about it. Dismiss yourself. Stop looking!”

Although they didn’t know why their lord had changed his mind all of a sudden, Black Bull Demon assumed that it perhaps had something to do with that golden wandering soul.

That was beyond their power scope. Therefore, Black Bull Demon didn’t ask anything and only commanded the other officials to leave.

“My lord, I found it, I found it!”

White Impermanence rushed inside excitedly with a booklet in his hand. According to the excited look on his face, he seemed to have found the answer already.

“And?” The expression on the lord’s face was rather calm. It was hard to tell if he still cared about it or not. However, White Impermanence was too happy to detect that.

“My lord, you are so wise. There really is a special man among the five hundred people that the boy has saved.”

White Impermanence gradually calmed down and stated the ‘truth’.

“The Heaven Phoenix Dynasty is situated in a world called Green Feather Land, which is a low-level world. Nevertheless, recently that world is able to upgrade to the second-grade world because it is nearly saturated. Therefore, a chosen one must provoke unrest in order to change the entire Green Feather Land. That chosen one happens to be among the five hundred people the boy has saved.”

As a result, that boy had got boundless merits because he had saved a chosen one.

After knowing about that fact, White Impermanence felt envious. That boy really was so lucky.

The boundless merits would be rooted in one’s power. So the merits would follow the soul forever and never perish even if its host died, unless the soul of its host was destroyed.

The cultivator who possessed the boundless merits was able to yield twice the result with half the effort in his cultivation and gain more luck than ordinary people. In brief, there was no harm in having the boundless merits.

However, it was so rare to be able to achieve the boundless merits. Over thousands of years, the appearance of it was still rare.

Only a few people would look for the boundless merits on purpose because only good luck would bring one the merits.

“White Impermanence, go send my orders. No one shall spread news about the boy having the boundless merits. Any violator will be sentenced to Red Lotus Hell and never be released!” The lord said all of a sudden.

White Impermanence was stunned. But he understood what his lord had meant right away. However, he still found that a bit strange.

“My lord, are you afraid that the ones with evil thoughts would want to refine that boy’s soul and take away his boundless merits? But this is not the Ghost World. Something like that won’t happen here. Moreover, that boy’s soul hasn’t been found yet…”

“White Impermanence, listen to me.” The lord stared at his front with an extremely serious look on his face.

Never had White Impermanence seen his lord wearing a look like that. So the thing they were dealing with right now must be very serious.

“You have worked for me for many years. You should know that men’s greed is endless. I am responsible for his safety no matter where he is since I have made a mistake by captivating his soul. Do you understand?”

“I do!”

“All right. Now, go to find the King of the Underworld. Tell her everything and ask her to help us find the boy’s soul.”

“Yes, my lord!”

“Go!”
