41. Subduing God of Bad Luck

Translator: Ning LL

God of Bad Luck suddenly stopped crawling.

There was a calm but daunting voice exploding in his head. That voice kept echoing, which made God of Bad Luck extremely dizzy. Before he could react, he was already enveloped by a beam of white light. He felt himself being dragged by an irresistible force. After he had come back to his sense, he was already held in the King’s hand.

“That’s him, that’s him!”

Feng Xi who was the closest to the King had only seen the King raise his hand. The next second, that poor God of Bad Luck just showed up in the King’s hand. Then Feng Xi shouted right away. However, he still didn’t get off from the King’s body and only swung himself excitedly.

King of the Netherworld waved his hand, arousing ripples in the air. With that, the scene around him and the boy changed immediately.

The towering dome. The lofty and stately building. It was exactly the Heaven Peak Palace.

They had already returned to the Palace from the Flying Dragon Pavilion. Uncle White was standing by the gate motionlessly like a stone. After he heard the sound inside of the Palace, he turned around and bowed to the King gently. Then he ordered the maids to close the gate. After that, everyone all stayed outside.

When Feng Xi had just arrived at the palace with his face toward the gate, he saw the poker-faced Uncle White right away.

Feng Xi was scared by the icy look in these eyes and loosened his grip right away. As he was about to fall to the ground, King of the Netherworld who had seen that held Feng Xi’s waist and lifted him up effortlessly. Then the King put the boy down steadily while staring at the place behind Feng Xi indifferently…

A golden figure staggered out of the air. That was none other than God of Books who had been nowhere to be found before.

When Feng Xi was attacked by God of Bad Luck and the way of Heaven in his body was stimulated, God of Books ran out of sight. It was clear that he hid himself at that time. Perhaps he was afraid that he would be affected. Besides, God of Books didn’t have the ability to attack, so he was afraid that he would be influenced by God of Bad Luck. As a result, he disappeared in no time.

In brief, the life motto of God of Books was “Share each other’s fortunes but never misfortunes.”

Feng Xi didn’t sense that. However, the King was pretty clear of it.

God of Books had been created by the King, thus any thought of God of Books couldn’t be hidden from the King. However, after God of Books had shown up, King of the Netherworld never looked at him. Instead, the King only focused on God of Bad Luck in his hand.

That was God of Bad Luck.

He was always the one that made others unlucky, not the other way around. This was the first time he had been unlucky. Never did he realize that the boy he wanted to possess was in a close relationship with King of the Netherworld. No wonder the good fortune of the boy was so abundant. It was because he was affected by the Deity who was above all the Gods!

All in all, God of Bad Luck ended up like this only because of his own greed!

God of Bad Luck had one weakness: he couldn’t help get excited when he saw the person with great fortune and wished he could possess that person right away regardless of the consequences.

Since he was God of Bad Luck who had been born for tens of millions of years, any Gods or Demons would have to give up fighting or thinking of any possible means to escape once possessed by him. No one was able to bring God of Bad Luck under control and anyone that touched him would be unlucky for a long time. Therefore, the ones possessed by God of Bad Luck had to grin and bear it.

Hu Hanshan was an exception.

He passed his own bad luck to others through the crystal ball. Because how long God of Bad Luck would possess one person depended on that person’s luck, as long as Hu Hanshan passed all his bad luck to others, he would be able to get rid of God of Bad Luck and regain his freedom.

Just now, in the Flying Dragon Pavilion, Hu Hanshan still had one hundred years’ bad luck inside of him. However, Feng Xi found out about Hu Hanshan’s trick, so the latter failed to pass the bad luck secretly to Feng Xi. Nonetheless, God of Bad Luck was attracted to the abundant good fortune in Feng Xi, thus leaving Hu Hanshan. Then all the bad luck of Hu Hanshan disappeared automatically.

In a word, the only two ways to get rid of the bad luck brought by God of Bad Luck were using Hu Hanshan’s method or letting God of Bad Luck leave on his own initiative. There was no other way!

Of course, that was for other Gods and Demons.

King of the Netherworld was the most powerful man and only obeyed the way of Heaven. Any other original rules were not applicable to him.

God of Back Luck gave bad luck to others only according to a small rule under the original rules. Since the original rules didn’t work on King of the Netherworld, how could a small rule take effect?

As a result, God of Bad Luck was destined to be caught by King of the Netherworld. This poor God didn’t even have the strength to struggle.

“I’ll give you two choices. First, admit your master with your soul. Second, vanish in this world!” King of the Netherworld let God of Bad Luck make the choice.

God of Bad Luck sat in the light ball while chirping for a short while as his resistance. At last, he still chose the first one.

The King, not surprised at all, waved his hand slightly and sent God of Bad Luck to Feng Xi. As the King was about to speak, Feng Xi jumped away instantly and shouted,

“I don’t want to be unlucky!”
