97. Assumptions and the Answer

With its sheer immensity, the Quiet Stage Palace looked very imposing even at a distance.

When walking into the palace, Carendra had a vague feeling that he was just a tiny creature. The Palace was filled with domineering aura, which made his legs go numb. As a result, he had to struggle to walk a dozen of steps.

“So, you are Carendra.”

A clear and cold voice suddenly came up and reached Carendra’s ears as if stirring up small waves. After that, the palace fell into silence again.

Carendra, startled by that, raised his head immediately. A white figure appeared in front of him. The man in white was sitting upright right now and wasn’t doing anything, but Carendra could already sense the inherent imposing manner that man had. The next second, the King struck Carendra as ethereal and mysterious right away.

The gem on the man’s forehead was dazzling. His black eyes were filled with calmness. His gorgeous face looked noble and sacred as if he was the only deity in the world. His overall appearance was fascinating, though the look on his face might be indifferent. The man who sat there aloof from the world was no other than King of the Netherworld that Carendra had admired for all his life.

“It’s an honor to meet you, Your Majesty.” Carendra went down on one knee while saying that reverently.

Kneeling to the King was not a sign of yielding to the strong. Carendra only did that because of his respect for the King. He had never knelt to anyone else but only to the man in front of him, because the King was a legendary man and also a mysterious miracle.

If it were not for the King, the Sura family would have already been eliminated in the great war tens of thousands of years ago.

If it were not for the King, the members of the Sura family wouldn’t have lived safely until now.

Everything the Sura family had today was granted by the King.

Therefore, Carendra was willing to kneel to the King!

“Carendra, do you know why I have summoned you here?” The King fixed his eyes on Carendra with a meaningful look.

Under the gaze of the King, Carendra, no matter how proud he was, still couldn’t bear the heavenly pressure. Then Carendra even had the impulse to kneel again. However, he still managed to restrain that feeling, in case the King would disdain him. Still, Carendra already flushed with nervousness.

“I’m all ears, Your Majesty.” Carendra had already had an answer, but he tried not to think of that. It was not that he couldn’t figure out why, but that the answer in his mind was too shocking for him to accept.

“You’ve already had an answer, why do you need my instruction?” The King seemed to have seen through Carendra.

Those astonishing words struck Carendra like a bolt of lightning. Suddenly, he opened his eyes wide with that answer flashing in his mind again. The slender figure of that boy appeared in his head. That boy had a beaming smile, two adorable canine teeth and a pair of bright big eyes.

Carendra took a deep breath, thinking, ‘That’s right. It’s the boy called Feng Xi.”

On the way to the Palace, he kept thinking why the King wanted to meet him. First, Carendra was pretty sure that there was nothing about him that could intrigue the King, otherwise the elders in his family wouldn’t have been shut out. After the Sura family had declined, they were even no match for the third-rate forces. Also, the Sura family was not able to offer any help to the King because they were not powerful enough. Therefore, he had ruled out the two reasons.

Moreover, it was even more impossible that Carendra was summoned because he had offended the King.

Carendra always had the urge to kill and had already killed lots of people, which meant that he was not a good person, but he was sure that he had never harmed anyone who was related to the King. Perhaps he did have killed the people of the nether family, but at that time those people had already been deprived of their noble identity and lost the energy gem which was the symbol of their power. The King wouldn’t wait until now to punish him for that.

The most important thing was that Carendra had a feeling that the elder in white was a very powerful cultivator with a special identity.

If the King wanted to catch Carendra, sending the Golden Guard in the Palace was already enough.

As a result, after Carendra had ruled out all the possibilities, there was only one assumption left.

In the Green Nether Union, the boy had left many in doubt. First, he had a Demon Beast in the Saint realm, of which everyone knew about the rarity. It was nearly impossible for a Demon Beast in that realm to show up in the Netherworld, because none of the forces was capable of having one. If any force had one, word would get around about this for sure. Therefore, the Demon Beast in the Saint realm must be from the Heaven Peak Palace.

Second, there were two creatures who were able to get invisible around the boy. One had a golden appearance, whom Carendra assumed to be God of Books, the legendary ancestor of the books. Only the extremely powerful forces in the God and Demon Kingdom would be qualified to have a creature like that. In addition, once a force obtained such a creature, they would surely hide him right away instead of letting the creature stay with a boy who was only in the sixth grade of the God King realm.

Third, the boy had promised to pay his debt of gratitude to Carendra but left right away without finishing the final match because he seemed to have heard something. Judging from the look on the boy’s face, Carendra assumed that someone seemed to be talking to him.

Sound transmission was an art which could only be employed by the extremely powerful experts who were in the Exalt God realm or above. In the Netherworld, the cultivators in this realm were very rare. It was impossible that the Sura family had no idea there was an expert in the Exalt God realm in any forces. Therefore, Carendra was more certain that the boy was from the Heaven Peak Palace.

At last, the most important thing was that the boy’s appearance matched the person whose name had been widely spread in the Netherworld. Before, Carendra had concentrated on cultivating, but he had still heard of those things. At that time, he hadn’t paid much attention to those events. Now he only felt that everything was like a dream to him.

He knew that the Sura family finally had a chance to revive itself because of that boy!

“Xi, come out now.” Seeing the look on Carendra’s face, the King assumed that he had already confirmed his guess. Then the King called the boy who was hiding behind the chair.

‘Xi? Is that Feng Xi?’

Carendra looked to the chair behind the King. He was sure that he would be able to recognize the boy as long as the latter spoke.

The spacious Palace remained quiet for a long time. Suddenly, a clear voice suddenly came through from the back of the chair, but the boy still hadn’t shown up. “My leader, has Uncle White left yet?”

The boy lowered his voice on purpose, afraid that his words would be heard by Uncle White. He didn’t even want to pop his head out.

However, Carendra who stood around five or six meters away from Feng Xi heard those words clearly. Hearing the familiar voice and tone, Carendra felt as if the talkative boy he had met on the square of the Green Nether Union just showed up in front of him again. Then, he was suddenly enlightened as if the mist in front of him was dispelled and he finally saw the bright sky.

“If you still don’t come out, I’ll call Uncle White in.” The King said that without turning around.

The King’s voice which only turned gentle when he spoke to the boy suddenly came through. His tone was slightly teasing, which only the boy could understand. However, Feng Xi still regarded those words as a threat. Finally, he climbed out reluctantly while murmuring, “My leader, you cannot do this. You have to show pity for my ears. Uncle White really likes to pinch my ears, and it hurts every time.”

Carendra followed the voice and looked over, finding the boy still wearing the delicate robe. However, although it would be quite undisciplined for someone to climb out from behind the King, the boy’s adorable movement could easily please others.

What surprised Carendra most was that the boy was able to act at will in the Heaven Peak Palace. Seeing the boy’s action in front of the King and hearing the words the boy had uttered, Carendra felt that the rumors were all true.

“Carendra, you finally came. I have waited for you for too long.”

As the boy found Carendra who was not far away from him, his eyes sparkled right away. Having climbed up from the ground, he ran to Carendra who still had a dazed look on his face. However, two hours ago, they had been fighting in the arena. The boy was truly exaggerating.

There was a huge difference between guessing out the truth and seeing the truth by himself. When the boy approached Carendra, the latter still felt that this might be his illusion. Only until the boy had called him twice did he realize what was going on and show an awkward smile. However, he still didn’t know what to say.

“My name is Feng Xi, just call me that.” Feng Xi thought that Carendra didn’t know his name, so he said that forwardly.

“Feng Xi.” After hesitating for a while, he finally called the boy’s name while staring at the boy’s smiling face.

Once Carendra relaxed, he didn’t feel nervous anymore. Then, the indifferent and cool Carendra finally came back. Perhaps his mood had been affected by the boy, and thus he stopped sending out the cold aura which could push everyone away.

What Carendra didn’t know was that the King was observing him right now.

If Carendra stayed nervous the whole time, the King would surely have a worse impression of him and might drop the idea of letting Feng Xi cultivate with Carendra. However, Carendra didn’t disappoint the King. He stayed calm and showed strong will. What was more, the King knew that Carendra was a super genius, so he believed this man’s future was definitely promising!

Although the boy’s status in the Palace was special, Carendra still hadn’t forgotten that it was the King that had summoned him here.

“Feng Xi, we can talk later.” Carendra had no guts to forget that the King was still sitting there.

“Xi, come here.” The King glanced at Carendra with no expression in his eyes while talking to the boy who was still chatting with Carendra.

Carendra turned serious right away, knowing that the King was about to talk about the most crucial thing.
