The Evil God of Hogwarts

Chapter 123 Gambling

Hermione ran into Ron and Harry as she rushed out of the library, and the girl didn't even say hello to them.

"Hey, Hermione, what's wrong with you?" Harry immediately chased after him, followed closely by Ron. They followed the angry girl to the stairs.

"Is she crying?" Ron asked Harry cautiously.

"I don't know," Harry said. "Maybe she was sad that we were leaving."

"But I also brought her her favorite blueberry pudding."

"We should leave her alone."

"You think this is a good idea?" Ron was a little unsure, "Last time she cried, she summoned a troll."

"Ron!" Harry shouted helplessly, "This isn't funny."

"It's funny." Hermione turned around and wiped the tears from her eyes, "Ron Weasley..."

"I apologize, I apologize." Ron immediately raised his hands and said, "I shouldn't have been joking."

Harry nodded in agreement: "We didn't leave on purpose. Look, Ron also brought you blueberry pudding."

After saying that, Harry bumped Ron with his elbow, and the latter reacted and hurriedly took out the pudding from his bag.

"No, it's not your fault." Hermione shook her head.

"That is?" Harry and Ron were both confused.

"It's me. I just feel how stupid I was before."

Ron's face was full of agreement, and he was about to say something, but Harry interrupted him in time: "Don't underestimate yourself so much, Hermione, you are the smartest among us."

Hermione took the pudding and smiled at the two of them, "Thank you, thank you."

The card games at the Leaky Cauldron are not hard to find, as anyone can participate as long as you have the money.

Xing Ze stayed in the bar all afternoon, drank a few sodas, and enjoyed a not-so-palatable dinner, and then asked the hotel owner Tom where the card game was.

His poker skills were pretty good. He doubled his chips in just one hour, and then deliberately lost most of them in the next half hour.

The other three players cursed at first, but became happy after Xing Ze started losing money. This situation continued until Xing Ze stood up and ended the game.

"Let's play again next time, everyone."

The three poker players responded with kind smiles, and they all expressed that they would play cards with Xing Ze next time.

Xing Ze stopped Maxim before he sat down, and the latter's expression could be described as rich.

"Oh, dear sir." Xing Ze said with a smile, "Do you mind if I take you for a few minutes? I have something to ask about inheritance."

"Of course, I... think we'd better go outside and talk." The buck-toothed bank clerk apologized to the other card players, and then followed Xing Ze out of the card room.

"You can't come to me, you're overstepping your bounds." On the way to the bar, Maxim couldn't hold himself back and shouted in a low voice.

"Okay, M, unless you want everyone to know about our meeting, just calm down."

"I will report you to R." He ignored Xing Ze's words.

"No, you won't." Xing Ze said confidently, "Let me buy you a drink, and we can talk calmly during this glass of wine. How about it?"

The estate manager was silent. They had already reached the bar, and finally he pulled up a round chair and sat on it.

"Just a glass of wine."

Ten minutes later, M took the last sip of wine with a heavy face. His eyes flickered, as if he was thinking about big things.

Xing Ze was playing with a chip. Before he could exchange the chips into currency, fortunately, the bar also collected chips.

"Hell, I have to have another drink." M pushed the empty glass to Tom, "One more drink, no, not a cocktail, something strong."

Tom poured him a shot of tequila.

"You are really crazy, B." Maxim whispered, "It is simply crazy. Do you know what you are doing?"

"I know."

"I advise you not to do that. It's not good for anyone."

"You are wrong, M. This is good for both you and me. Mr. R has been blocking my investigation, and I think you should know why, but I will not force you to tell me.

"All I need is to remove the obstacles on my way forward, and you, sir, do you really plan to work under him for the rest of your life? Just be a nobody?"

"I'm not a nobody." Maxim shouted in a low voice, the smell of alcohol spraying from his mouth.

"Oh, really? Who knows you then?" Xing Ze sneered, "Our profession seems to be glorious, but what is it really? We are just mice hiding in the shadows.

"Of course, if you are satisfied with your current life. I won't force it, but this means you have to endure Mr. R's contempt and accept his constant difficulties."

Maxim took a sip of wine. Xing Ze was right, but in any case, this matter was too risky.

"The church won't agree with how we do it."

"They will." Xing Ze said, "A smart person like you must know better than me why they do this."

"But you're not sure, B, you don't have any bargaining chips."

"I do, as long as you can arrange for me to meet A."

"What is it? I have to know. Only in this way can I convince A."

"It's my business to convince him, not yours. You just need to exercise your unique power."

"Yes, but if things are revealed, they will also make me pay the price."

Xing Ze changed his sitting position and put most of his weight on the bar.

"What a pity, M. It seems that you are going to reject me, so I will have to find another partner."

"Who are you looking for?" Maxim's hand shook slightly, and the wine in the glass also swayed.

"Who else, our distinguished Mr. R."

Maxim's eyes widened, and he said coldly: "Do you think he will believe your lies?"

"That depends on how closely you cooperate with the church."

"You are threatening me."

"No, obviously not." Xing Ze waved his hand, "You are ruining your own path."

Silence, a silence that lasted for a long time.

"I need time to think about it."

"No, no, give me the answer now." Xing Ze rejected Maxim's request, "before I finish the glass of soda in my hand."

"Damn it, B, don't think I don't dare to do it."

"You can try and see if you can defeat a wizard who has survived dream things many times. And I, I'll kill you before you even take out your wand.

"Don't count on your hat trick, I won't get hit twice in the same place. Look at me, take a good look at me, M.

"You're a Gringotts employee, a bank employee, you should be able to tell if I'm bluffing."

"Okay, okay." Maxim begged, "But can I ask why you did this? Except for Mr. R's reason."

"There is an idiom in our country that cannot be destroyed or established, M. Only by establishing a new order can we better fight against those evils."
