The Evil God of Hogwarts

Chapter 297 Investigation by Two Parties

After bidding farewell to my driver, Kent and Lanny walked to a shady place, sweat dripping down their cheeks. To ease the heat, Kent lit up a cigarette.

But Lanny put away his pipe. The herbal medicine had an effect, and the pain in his left hand eased a lot.

"What do you think?" Lanny asked Kent.

"It looks like this is a winding mountain road." As an explorer, Kent is very knowledgeable about all kinds of maps.

Lanny did not doubt him. After all, those who could enter the Adventure Club in London were somewhat capable. The road map in their hands was not complicated and anyone with some knowledge should be able to understand it.

"But what I don't understand is," Kent exhaled the smoke from his mouth with some depression, "Looking at the map, there is clearly a county road leading there, even though it is just passing by. Why do they have to take such a long detour?"

"Maybe the county road just passes by." Lanni guessed, "There is no branch road leading there."

Kent took a deep breath of cigarette, and the ash fell on the map in his hand, "This really doesn't make sense. Let's see if Kelly and the others can ask anything from the post office. If even the postman takes this route. , then we will go along this road."

"There are three cars left, why don't you take a break?"

Kent shook his head. He dusted off the ash on the map and said, "No, just ask. We still have to meet at that small restaurant."

station.

"Can I ask why you have to take such a long detour? Look, there is obviously a road passing through Brichester." Xing Ze asked the old man.

The old man leaned against the wall. He burped and slowly moved down, finally sitting on the ground.

"Mike, could you please help me ask?" Xing Ze handed the map to his companion, "I think your old buddy seems to be falling asleep."

Mike took the map, squatted down and asked the old man. The drunken old man raised his head, looked at him with blurry eyes, and then shouted: "Hey, old man, where were you just now?"

"Sir, I would like to ask why there is no direct road to Brichester, but a detour through there."

The old man muttered something, then stretched out his finger to draw random strokes, "Lake, fool, because of that lake. The road...the road must..."

The second half of the sentence became softer and softer, and was finally replaced by a thunderous snore. Mike stood up and said to Xing Ze, "He fell asleep."

"I heard it." Xing Ze nodded, "Let's ask other people."

Half an hour later, Lanny and Kent returned to the small restaurant where they had eaten before. Of the two remaining drivers, one was absent and the other gave a route similar to the one before.

Xing Ze and Mike arrived later. They checked the investigation routes with each other and found that they were not much different.

"Since this is the route, it should be right." Kent said, "We will leave when Kelly and the others come back."

After a while, the owner of the restaurant called to them: "Miss Kelly calls for Mr. Kent's phone number."

Everyone had doubts on their faces. Kent stood up and walked to the front desk and took the phone from the boss. After a short conversation, he said to the others with a solemn expression: "Go to the post office, something happened."

Ellie looked through the information in her hand. The information was scattered and broken, with no intersection. What exactly is Frank looking for?

"Miss Nix!"

The sudden shouting that reminded Ellie of her thoughts temporarily pulled her mind away from the information. She turned to look at the front desk and responded loudly: "Here it is!"

A young police officer hurried over. After seeing Ellie, he quickly said: "Sir, Superintendent Ribbon wants you to go."

"Okay, I understand." The eldest lady quickly walked to the front desk.

Burke looked at the information scattered on the ground and reminded: "Put the information back, Miss."

"Actually." Ellie held the countertop with one hand and jumped over the front desk. "I want to borrow all those materials. Please help me pack them. I will pick them up later."

Burke rolled his eyes, but since the Muggle police were there, he couldn't say much, so he had no choice but to agree: "Remember to come and get it."

He didn't get a response because Ellie had long disappeared.

The police officer took her to an interrogation room. Ribbon was already there. He nodded to the police officer, who wisely withdrew.

"What do we have?" Ellie looked at the man in the interrogation room through the one-way mirror. He looked to be in his thirties, wearing a short-sleeve with a skull pattern and two crossed arms tattooed on his left hand. Revolver.

"Has Xing Ze told you about the grocery store outside Frank's apartment?"

"Hmm. I've heard that you can buy a lot of good stuff there."

"Yes." Ruiben nodded, "So I asked my men to go sightseeing a few times. There is indeed smuggling in that store. Their sources of goods are diverse, including gangs from the East District and old record gangs."

"What about this guy?"

"Delivery person. He travels between various gangs and helps deliver goods. He is equivalent to a middleman. He should know a lot of things, but...but he only talks to those in power."

"I understand. Should I interrogate alone, or should we do it together?"

Ruiben glanced at the eldest lady and replied: "Let's do it together. This way, the interrogation process will be legal."

The two entered the interrogation room. Ellie pulled up a chair and sat opposite the man, while Reben sat directly on the interrogation table.

"I didn't expect there to be such a beautiful lady in the police station."

"Hey, you can talk before we ask." Ruiben warned fiercely.

"Okay, okay, don't be angry, I'll shut up." The man smiled, without any trace of nervousness on his face.

"Name." Ruiben continued to ask. He was already tall, and he looked especially majestic when he was sitting on the table. His gaze from top to bottom would put more psychological pressure on the suspect.

"Are you asking about my real name or my stage name?"

Riben slammed the table, and the loud noise echoed in the interrogation room, "If you say one more nonsense, kid, I will let you go down there for a night to clear your mind."

"Worm." The man replied, but it was obvious that he did not answer because of Ribbon's threat.

"Worm what?"

"Worm Knight"

"Well, tell me, Worm. What do you know?"

Worm's eyes moved from Riben to Ellie, and he asked with some confusion: "I said, I will only talk to your leader."

"Then say it."

"But I doubt this lady's identity. She looks young, doesn't she?"

"There are a lot of young detectives at Scotland Yard," Ellie replied, "but anyway, I'm glad someone says I'm young."

Worm frowned, "You are from Scotland Yard? Ah, a special agent, right? I heard the news, but I always thought you were a man."

Ellie leaned back, her cold eyes wandering over the man. One of the bad things about staying with Xing Ze for a long time is that you can't help but analyze everyone.
