12 – Preparing for lessons.

Ed went into Glodia’s lab after lunch. It was only natural that he entered Setin as an assistant lecturer to Professor Glodia. Ed was spending time checking the status of the remaining skeletons in the warehouse when Glodia, who had finished her afternoon class, came to the lab.

“Instructor Ed, what are you doing?”

“Professor Glodia, I am checking to see if the core has been properly established. Since I am the only necromancer in Cetin, I can create a suitable core, but if I maintain the core, there will be no confusion in commands and I will be able to move more as I want.”

The skeleton, which Ed was looking at, raised his hand and drew a V. Watching the smooth movement, Glodia said.

“Speaking of a skeleton, I thought it was simply moving bones, but it’s more like a soldier.”

“Compared to humans, skeletons are less durable and cannot use mana, so they are not very powerful troops. But you definitely have to think differently from monsters.”

Ed remembered the Skeleton Knights and Death Knights he dealt with on the northern front. The Skeleton Knight was strengthened in Ed’s way so that it could use the same level of power as a normal Death Knight, and the Death Knight showed a different power than other Death Knights. The connection was strong enough that I could read the name Arang and even my memories.

‘Did Gray take Arang?’

The official name for Arang in Necropolis was Death Knight No. 14, a public Death Knight that could be rented by a special necromancer. Since Gray had taken Ed’s special necromancer license, all of the Death Knights and Skeleton Knights inside would have returned to belonging to the Necropolis, and if the goal was to screw Ed, there was a high possibility that Gray would have rented them.

“The skeletons that necromancers handle are not monsters that rely on all instincts. I need to tell the students. Would instructor Ed want to do it?”

“I’m an assistant instructor who helps practice, so I think Professor Glodia can do it.”

“Okay. How is the level of difficulty of practice and performance evaluation now?”

Glodia said, remembering Housen and Ed eating together during lunchtime. Since I was told to roll the second year more tightly, I thought I should know how much I was controlling the strength and weakness.

“We are still adjusting. We will have the adjustments finished by Friday.”

When Ed evaded an answer insinuatingly, Glodia got annoyed.

“First of all, since it’s my class, I wonder if I should participate in adjusting it… Shouldn’t I at least check in advance?”

“Then, it would be nice if Professor Glodia would evaluate it on Friday.”

“Okay. Let’s do that. Then, even if I’m curious, I’ll wait until Friday.”

The next day, the vice president was called in the morning to adjust the level of difficulty of the ‘Practice and Performance Evaluation’ by Dean Hosengyu and Assistant Instructor Ed Frozenborn.

The 3rd graders asked Carter Rivera, the student council president, what he was doing yesterday, but Carter laughed and evaded an answer. Even though Setin’s students have many children from aristocratic families, Carter Rivera, the current student council president, is a rare princess in Setin, so the students decided to aim for the vice president rather than asking Carter.

The place where the 3rd year students visited the vice president was the restaurant. It was lunchtime, and when I went to the restaurant, I saw the vice-chairman eating porridge slowly.

“Vice-president, are you okay?”

“Huh? Yes. It’s okay.”

The vice-president, who was eating, lifted his head helplessly at the sound of him being called. A third-year student who saw it said.

“It’s okay to die, right? Did you have a hard time in the morning?”

“It was hard, but I learned something… I just feel sorry for the second year juniors.”

After hearing what the vice president said, the 3rd year student nodded. If you think about it, Professor Grace’s class was a sophomore, so it had nothing to do with them, who were in the third year. I was just curious about a necromancer coming to Cetin, so I thought there was no need to dig deeper, so I stopped asking.

The next day, when the secretary, who was known for his strength in the student council, returned with a tired face, the 3rd year students sincerely felt sorry for the 2nd year and told their close 2nd year juniors that Professor Grace’s class would be difficult. It took one day to spread it throughout.

After hearing the story from the seniors, the 2nd year students of Setin thought that the 3rd year seniors were scaring them for nothing. There were some of Setin’s students who saw Cymus and Ed fighting, but they were few in number because it was the weekend, so they didn’t have much of an impact. Also, the sophomores in the same grade knew that Cymus was bluffing, so they bet everything on the secretary of the student council who was called in on Thursday morning.

So far, three people have been called to Ed and Housen in turn: the student council president, vice president, and general secretary, but the three of them were in the third year. And the secretary of the student council summoned today is a sophomore and a student taking Professor Grace’s class. I thought that such a clerk would explain without hesitation to the same second graders, and I could see them during lunch.

“How was it? Are the seniors in the third grade right?

“Guys, wouldn’t it be okay to give up at least one of our subjects?”

The clerk answered the question from his sophomore friends with a limp body. The second-year students, who were quick to act after seeing this, immediately went to Professor Glodia’s lab and saw Professor Glodia looking exhausted there.

“Don’t worry, students, I’ll take care of it.”

Glodia was also in a dizzy state because of the constant calls from parents. ‘Why do you suddenly summon a necromancer and destroy the school customs of Setin?’, ‘Can you trust and enroll a necromancer in a school?’ Glodia had been receiving the same complaint calls since the morning.

Glodia couldn’t understand how her child expressed her concern by using a precious object called a magic stone when no one was hurt yet and the class hadn’t even started in the first place. I expected a certain amount of backlash from the time I brought the necromancer to Setin, but I never thought the parents would be so polarized.

If Principal Quasar had been there, direct phone calls with parents could have been avoided, but Gloria had to endure the whole thing because she was away.

‘Should I increase the level of difficulty?’

Tomorrow, I decided to check the ‘practice and performance evaluation’ adjusted by Dean Kyu and Instructor Ed. If you think about it, the students who will enter Cetin next year are already decided, so there will be no big problem?

“Let’s see tomorrow and judge.”

Glodia sighed as she thought of Ed adjusting the skeleton in the warehouse.

On Friday, Glodia experienced it herself and said something.

“It’s good. I think we can do it like this.”

Glodia confirmed that the level of difficulty, which she thought would be heinous, had been adjusted to an appropriate level.

“Cancer. You have to be able to solve this kind of problem in order to be a student of Setin. I thought Professor Glodia would agree. Instructor Ed, isn’t it?”

Housen answered, folding his arms and nodding at Glodia’s words.

“Yes. You have to be able to do this much to deal with the Necromancer.”

Ed looked at Housen with a delicate face and replied, thinking about what had happened yesterday morning.

‘Huh… . how to do this Sobbing… .’

The secretary of the student council cried during the performance evaluation, so the difficulty level was lowered once more. In fact, the person who experienced the most difficult level was Carter Rivera, the student council president, and Ed realized that she was not the student council president of Cetin for nothing. And, seriously, I started to worry about Setin.

‘Is this difference because there is no exchange between the two places?’

The destinations of Terut’s necromancers, who were trained to be deployed in battle against monsters in the north, and Setin’s students who attended the academy to build basic skills and expand their network, had very different destinations. At least it was this much because Housen made the students learn the magic bullet to the actual combat specifications, or the difference would have been greater.

‘Because it’s not a place I’ll stay for a long time.’

Ed was thinking of going further south after this job as an assistant instructor. As a necromancer, I thought it would be safe to keep at least one strong summoned beast in the subspace, so I wanted to take this opportunity to get a southern monster I hadn’t encountered yet. Remembering the book on ‘Ecology of Southern Monsters’ borrowed from the library and left at the inn, Ed sorted out the summons.

“You want to make a necromancer a formal professor of Setin…?”

“Yes. Maria, it’s more like a class helper than a professor, but I need it when I see it.”

Enild looked at the woman in front of him, the Maria Setin Quasar, and smiled. Maria, who grew her white hair long to her waist, looked at Enild with golden eyes and sighed.

“Aunt Enild, do you really need a necromancer in Setin?”

“Now, Setin is nothing but a meeting place for noble children to get to know each other. At least because it is a practical department that values practicality over flashiness, there are students who are worthy of Setin’s name, but what about students who are proud? Students who want to learn the Holy Light Spear. The number of them continues to decrease year by year.”

Enild sincerely thought that a necromancer was necessary for the future of the Holy Union beyond the Cetin Divine Academy. Feeling that sincerity, Maria tried to find the reason rather than just denying it.

“Are you planning to officially recruit a necromancer to Setin to awaken his lack of practical sense?”

“Okay. If things go well, I’d like to try and get some students admitted who don’t ‘fit in the satin’ even if they get divinity labels. So can you help?”

“Auntie, there are five people I can protect with my name.”

“Isn’t the saintess not very strong these days? Is it because there are many of them?”

Enild tilted his head and asked, and Maria nodded. As there are various gods and religions, the saints of each religion were different. So among the common powers of the saints, the powers that could be abused continued to be reduced.

“Then Auntie, can I meet that necromancer once? I’ll decide after that.”

“Okay. Maria, I’ll meet you when you come to Rica Coast.”
