37 – Monster’s Paradise.

Coming into the sandstorm was more difficult than expected. Not only did you have to worry about the sandstorm hitting your body, but the floor was moving subtly. The Desert Lizard Skeleton is not in its original form, but is only a skeleton and bones, so some of its original abilities have disappeared.

Can we say that what has disappeared is the ability to navigate through a desert full of sand, or traction? In order to use it at the level that Desert Lizard had, more mana in the core had to flow.

-Pak! Pop! Pop! Pop!

Under Ed’s control, the Skeleton Desert Lizard began to make its way through the sandstorm quickly. The guild’s hunters had to prepare for an attack by monsters that appeared in the sandstorm by forming formations to conserve strength, but Ed and Arebijou were able to avoid the monsters’ attack because they were moving very quickly.

“I can’t believe that there is a paradise for monsters beyond here.”

As Ed said, Arrebijou tried to nod, but opened his mouth because he couldn’t see it well with the current view.

“Yes. I can’t believe that this sandstorm has an end.”

The education process Arrebijou received to become a paladin included training to protect people in extreme environments, but this natural environment was not even assumed. I learned how to exert my full strength without losing myself in cold or hot, dry or wet conditions, but never in a sandstorm like this. Avoiding this situation is the correct answer in the first place.

‘Hunters might be better than paladins in this respect.’

There are almost infinite variables in protecting people from people, but the enemies were people who would die if their necks fell anyway, and the place where they would fight was an environment that people could live in. However, fighting monsters with numerous characteristics in an environment that is difficult for humans to live in was more difficult than expected.

Of course, the only monster he had fought so far was the Desert Lizard, and even that Desert Lizard was vulnerable to Ed’s curse, so he was easily defeated.

-widely! widely! widely!

Other than the footsteps of the Skeleton Desert Lizard the two of them were riding, other footsteps began to be heard. Edgar, who found footsteps that felt heavier than the skeleton desert lizard carrying people, said to Arebijou.

“Can you hear Mr. Arebijou? It seems that one has caught up with you.”

“Yes. One, on the left.”

Ed turned his head to the left, which was empty unlike the right. I couldn’t see it well because the sand was blowing and blocking my view, but a black mass was definitely moving. If you use a curse to get your feet tangled, even the Desert Lizard will find it difficult to keep up in the sandstorm.

‘It’s not in my range yet.’

The curse can be used against opponents at a distance, but Ed prefers to use it as an incantation on targets within range. In order to overcome the maximum command distance of the summons, Ed had to constantly wander around, and it was cumbersome to calculate each time, so he developed all his magic in the direction of dominating his territory.

With the exception of elemental magic, Ed had made all the improvements, so he was confident in dealing with enemies that came within his range. Although the sandstorm is this strong, I have experience fighting in the northern blizzard, so I know that visibility is not a big problem as long as you are within range.

-get on!! get on!!

The sound of footsteps coming from the left became stronger. Thinking that the Desert Lizard was also in his range, he started to jump with strength, and soon came into Ed’s range.

Curse of exhaustion, curse of loss of vision, curse of olfactory paralysis.

Ed fired three curses in quick succession.

– Pukakagak.

“Kugaaagh!!!”

The Desert Lizard, hit by the curse, screamed as it collapsed on the sand. I didn’t think that the desert lizards I met in Lessand were using silence because they were wandering around alone, but I remembered reading in a book called ‘Ecology of Southern Monsters’ that desert lizards live in groups. There was nothing in the book that fit, so I was trying to erase as much as possible what I hadn’t experienced, but in this case, it fit again.

“Ed, they’re coming from the right too.”

“There’s a reason they’re slowly passing through here. They’re coming from the left too.”

Desert lizards began to come from all sides. Ed thought the best thing he could do now was to break through the sandstorm and fight the Desert Lizard, so he increased the mana emitted from the Skeleton Desert Lizard’s core.

“Mr. Arebijou, hold on tight.”

“yes!”

Because they didn’t make a separate rein, the two of them tightly gripped the Skeleton Desert Lizard’s neck. According to the amount of mana squeezed out of the core, the Skeleton Desert Lizard whipped its legs faster, and the Desert Lizard chasing the two of them kicked off the ground and started running.

And in an instant, my vision became brighter. I wanted to pass through the sand dunes and enjoy the exotic landscape of green meadows, but I had to kill the monsters running behind me. Ed immediately turned the Desert Lizard backwards and Arebizou jumped down from above and pulled out his sword.

Ed immediately grabbed the necromancer license, restored three skeletons, and took them out of subspace. The moment the Desert Lizards appeared through the sandstorm. The Desert Lizards, colored brown perhaps because of their protective coloring, opened their mouths wide and rushed towards Ed and Arebizou.

“Mr. Arebizu, I will use a curse on those who come into my range. The attack will be one beat slower.”

“All right.”

Arrebijou thought that this situation where the paladin had to fight under the command of a necromancer with a skeleton was quite awkward, but he believed in Ed’s skills he had seen so far, so he waited for the Desert Lizard to come within Ed’s range.

The movement of the Desert Lizard, which came within the range Ed said, began to have an abnormality. Skeletons rushed towards the desert lizard, which flinched or fell to the ground, and Arebijou also ran forward with mana on his sword.

The Desert Lizard, who was closest to Arrebijou, split the head of the one who flinched, the one who could not overcome his own acceleration and walked with a strange stride.

-Suddenly.

He cut off the Desert Lizard’s head and pushed its body away with the buckler in his left hand. Arebizou and Skeletons killed four Desert Lizards at once, but two more remained. Those two animals were also cursed and their movements were strange, so Arebizou and Skeleton defeated the Desert Skeleton.

“It would be difficult to take everyone with you, right?”

Arebizou briefly glanced at the two Desert Lizards he had killed, then looked at Ed and said. Since he has never been active so far, he has never mentioned profit sharing, but two Desert Lizards and 10 million Enel were enough to donate to a good place.

“First of all, you have to use it as a troop. You have a rough idea of what monsters will be in front of you, but it’s different when you meet them in person. It would be better to have a lot of cards that you can use.”

“First of all, it would be right to use it for exploration. I said something pointless.”

Seeing Ed taking off the equipment he had bought to overcome the sandstorm, Arebizou began taking off the equipment he had bought to overcome the sandstorm. Ed entrusted the two cloaks to the skeleton, moved them far away, brushed off the sand, folded them up, and put them in subspace. Ed used mana to raise six zombie Desert Lizards, and together with his summons, the two began walking beyond the sandstorm.

“The weather is still hot, but it’s amazing that so many plants are growing.”

Arebijou said while stepping on the grass growing to a suitable length with a greave.

“Even I didn’t expect there to be such a big difference beyond the sandstorm. I don’t think Urum-san didn’t know what monster paradise meant, either?”

“That’s right. Only the Hunter Guild would know.”

Urum said it was a place where monsters flocked and had to lose sleep at night, but it just felt like a huge meadow with hot weather. Going over the dunes, I saw a large river, and it seemed to spread out in places, providing water for the grass to grow.

In front of it was a huge mountain, which looked quite hot as not a single blade of grass grew on it. When I sent mana to the snow and looked farther away, I could confirm that the sandstorm was surrounding this terrain, and I felt that this artificial shape was miraculous.

“The herbivores were all here.”

Edgar Alevijeu looked at him for a moment and then followed his gaze to see small animals grazing and having a leisurely time. Are you going to use a protective color, or should I say a pig full of green? There was a group of such guys, and it seemed that a monster like the Desert Lizard would grow after eating those guys.

“I don’t think it’s dangerous yet, but we’ll proceed with caution.”

The two approached slowly, but the pigs started to run away as if their senses were sensitive as they were herbivores. The pigs, who were waddling and running away with their young, suddenly collapsed to the ground.

“Did you see it?”

“Yes. It suddenly went off to the floor.”

When I went to the place where the pigs disappeared, there was a hole that was difficult for Desert Lizard to enter. The pigs here seemed to live in a tunnel. Deciding to leave the pig family alone, the two of them slowly walked to the riverside and saw the huge rock moving and immediately prepared for battle.

“I thought Heavy Rock Turtle would be here.”

The monster that existed at the top of the southern monsters that Ed had seen was sitting at the beginning of the forest.
