5 – Cetin Divine Academy.

The morning after signing the verbal contract with Glodia, Ed came down to eat the breakfast provided by the inn. It was a pretty poor breakfast, with no simple bread, jam, or soup, and the only thing to drink was water, but the bread and jam were quite low, as the people who woke up early had already eaten a lot.

Ed took the bread, spread some jam on it, and folded it in half. As I stood eating bread, thinking it was enough to satisfy my hunger, I heard a voice calling me from behind.

“Mr. Ed, the breakfast at our inn is a little poor, isn’t it?”

Ed slightly nodded at Glodia’s voice. Ed swallowed what was in his mouth and answered.

“I think this much is okay for breakfast.”

“It’s just enough to satisfy my hunger. If you have time today, would you like to go to Cetin in advance?

After graduating from Terut Academy, he had never created a summoned beast, but it remained in Ed’s memory. If the pre-processing that the northerners say has been completed, it can be raised right away, but if not, it will take a lot of time, so Ed thought it would be better.

“Okay. I’m curious about Cetin, where I’ll be staying for a month.”

Glodia smiled and nodded at Ed’s answer.

“Then Ed, do you have anything to pack? I’ll wait for you at the entrance.”

“Since I came down from the North almost naked, my necromancer license is over. I have a room key.”

“Then, since I have to stand at the church, I have to buy clothes and I don’t know if I’ll be a little busy today. Of course, I’ll buy them all.”

“Does Setin’s teacher pay a lot?”

The monthly salary I heard yesterday was 4,000,000 energy, and it seemed that Glodia was going to cover all the other additional expenses. The money he had accumulated over the years while rolling on the northern front was 27 million energy. Of course, I forgot a lot to repay the re-roiling price used while living in the academy, but 4 million energy per month… . Ed said with a wry smile.

“The professors at Cetin tend to pay generously enough to hire assistant instructors. And the work is that hard.”

“Is your work hard as a professor?”

“Yes. I’m not sure what the Northern Academy is like, but in Cetin, most of the professors are commoners. They make people talk dirty.”

Ed thought that Terut Academy, which was authoritative because most of the professors were nobles, seemed quite different from Setin Divine Academy.

After coming down for breakfast, Ed went back to the room to freshen up.

“As the innkeeper, I hear that the breakfast is poor.”

Glowin, who had been listening to the two people’s story in silence, said as Ed went up to the second floor, he stabbed Glodia in the side.

“Ouch. Well, that’s right.”

Glodia answered, gently stroking the side where Glowin had stabbed her with her hand.

“If you want to put something more in there, do you have to raise the lodging fee? You can sleep cheaply, so you can buy it yourself with the money you save on lodging.”

Considering that the average cost of lodging at other nearby inns was 70,000 Enels, 50,000 Enels on a purple moonlit night was definitely cheap. Glodia agrees with Glowin, but living here, she also had to eat a poor breakfast.

“Most people will eat that for breakfast and then buy it for lunch.”

“You eat at Cetin, which serves good food, right?”

“I admit it, Setin cooks well.”

While the purple sisters were talking, a freshly washed Ed came down. Sensing that the person had changed, Glodia stared blankly for a moment, then hurriedly rose from her seat.

“Shall we go Mr. Ed?”

“Yes. Let’s go.”

*

Cetin Divine Academy wasn’t too far from the purple moonlit night, but to be precise, it seemed right to say that it wasn’t too far from Rica Coast Station.

Although the Cetin Divine Academy and the Holy See existed symmetrically around the square of the station, the scale of the Cetin Divine Academy was much larger. Since it’s near the station, the land price seems to be quite expensive, but perhaps the Cetin Divine Academy was built first and then the station entered.

The large carved entrance was closed because it was the weekend, but the small side door was open, and Glodia took Ed there. The guard guarding the entrance recognized Glodia and slightly lowered his head.

“Professor Glodia, what’s going on?”

“I have recruited an assistant instructor, but I would like to prepare class materials in advance. Can I get a pass?”

“Yes, I will bring it.”

The security guard took the pass from the security room, came out, and was about to hand it to Ed, but stopped.

“But isn’t the assistant instructor that Professor Glodia was recruiting a necromancer?”

“that’s right.”

“It’s a bit…introducing a necromancer to Cetin.”

The security guard openly expressed his displeasure, but Ed didn’t say anything because he understood how he felt. If you had brought a priest to Terut Academy as an assistant instructor, the moment you passed the academy entrance, that priest would have been covered with all sorts of curses.

“It’s okay. Did you know what subject I teach?”

“Was it a purification battle? Glodia-sama would be fine.”

When Ed looked at the syllabus Glodia gave him the day before, the name of the subject she was teaching was Cleansing Practice. I thought it was strange from the point of view of a necromancer to purify a necromancer’s skeleton rather than purifying the spirit, but Cetin Divine Academy thought so and passed it on.

“It’s a purification exercise. Do you think the professor will hire an assistant instructor who can’t handle it?”

Glodia, who said that, took the pass from the security guard and handed it to me.

“I need to write down the name of the person I visited. How should I write it down?”

“Just write Ed.”

“Ed, I understand.”

We entered Cetin when the guard went into the security room and wrote something down. The large lawn that was visible from the entrance caught my eye, and the remaining students at the school, probably living in the dormitory, were sitting on the lawn, reading books or taking a nap. There were also students playing tag, perhaps just trying to lose stamina, and it was a different scene from Terut Academy, where Ed graduated.

First of all, it is cold in the north. Because I had a strong belief that it was elegant to minimize outdoor activities, I studied in the dormitory most of the time during breaks. Most of the time, people running on the lawn like that were skeletons, but most of them let them run outside to increase the skill of the summoned beast.

When Ed, who was not one of the majority, ran on the playground to exercise his physical strength, the other students did not look at it that favorably. There were a few people who understood Ed, including Demona.

‘If I go to the academy, it will always come to mind.’

If you think about it, Demona actively attacked and accepted her and started dating, but it ended in the worst form. It’s not that I didn’t like Edgar Demona at all, but I wondered if the difference in love between them was so great that it led to catastrophe.

While continuing to follow Glodia through Cetin Academy, a brown-haired female student approached Ed and Glodia.

“Professor Glodia! Who’s the man behind you?”

“Assistant Instructor, I’ll see you next week.”

“Really? A necromancer… Heh. I get it.”

The girl with a meaningful smile quickly moved away from Ed and Glodia.

“Are you a student that Mr. Glodia teaches?”

“Yes. Tilda Aeders, you’re a good student. But did you just tell the guard about Ed? Why didn’t you tell me your last name?”

“It’s an adult I got from the North, but since I’ve left, Ed is enough.”

“You’re a commoner, but you got a last name?”

When Glodia questioned the unusual situation, Ed answered lightly.

“Ed is a pretty common name.”

When Ed thought about it, it occurred to him that he had been given a castle in the North for that reason. Rather than saying that he was treating himself as an aristocrat while making a contribution on the battlefield, he felt that he lowered his surname to distinguish him because the name Ed was common.

Glodia nodded, wondering if it would be right for a higher-ranking necromancer to be given a last name in order to distinguish the names of 7th-level necromancers. He’s still on a verbal contract, so if things go wrong and Ed suddenly quits as an assistant instructor, he’ll be in trouble.

The two entered Setin’s large building, and Glodia’s lab was easy to find. Glodia took out the key and opened the door, turning the light on by itself in the dark room. The laboratory was a simple configuration with only a sofa and a table.

“There’s a warehouse here.”

Glodia opened another door in the lab and entered. And there, the skeletons Ed wanted were all lined up. Looking through the 10 skeletons in an instant, I could see that Glodia had saved the skeletons that had finished preprocessing.

‘As expected, am I a necromancer by nature?’

Ed quickly built a core out of an empty skeleton and took control.

“Kyaaagh?!”

When the skeletons of the heat took a step forward at the same time, Glodia, who saw it, was startled and clung to Ed. Ed said while enduring Glodia who suddenly rushed at him.

“It’s okay. I finished the engraving by creating a core for all opening skeletons.”

“Huh? Is it this easy?”

“You found a pre-processed skeleton. You also assembled it, so you can handle it like this.”

“I see. I thought it was a bit expensive. So Ed can move everything?”

“Yes. A skeleton without a weapon won’t be much of a threat, but you can use it like this.”

Ten skeletons raised both arms at the same time and assumed a fighting stance.

“Weapons will be provided for practice purposes. I didn’t know a 7th level necromancer would be this good.”

Glodia, who was clinging to Ed’s arm, spoke while stroking her chest and then quickly got away from Ed.

“That… I’m sorry. I’m a professor, but I looked like I couldn’t see you.”

“it’s okay.”

It was only a few days away, but it seemed that the lack of 10 skeletons under him was filled. Just then, a loud voice was heard outside the lab.

“Professor Glodia! I heard that the assistant instructor is here!”

Glodia’s expression darkened slightly at the man’s voice.

“Tilda is kind, but her mouth is a little soft. Cymus Verzovna is a little belligerent student.”

When Glodia opened the door to the lab, a male student with very short hair stood there. Cymus immediately poked his head out to check Ed, who was still behind him, and grinned.

“Can I fight as a student representative to see if he is qualified to be an assistant instructor?”

“Symus! What do you mean!”

Glodia raised her voice, but Cymus didn’t take his eyes off Ed. Ed had experienced this kind of situation when he joined the 7th guerrilla squad, so he knew how to rank ranks very effectively.

“Okay. I also want to see how many students I have to teach.”
