“…”

The voice that followed belonged to Curtis. However, as I had been obsessed with thinking of a way to increase Edith’s collapse rate, I didn’t hear him calling out to me.

“Edith Abina!”

I suddenly came to my senses as the door opened and Curtis called me again.

“What the hell were you doing in your room?”

He seemed to be suspicious of me these days, who was being well-behaved. I sighed a little surprised with him looking at me with his sharp eyes.

“I didn’t do anything.”

Thanks to the hard work of raising the collapse rate, I could hold conversations that didn’t have to do with the game progress at my will.

“What brought you here to see me?” I said with a frown, as I couldn’t wait to send Curtis out and think privately.

“…It looks like you’re bothered by my presence,” he noted.

I didn’t answer Curtis’ comment. Taking my silence as a yes, he sneered and continued.

“Okay. I didn’t know how your obsession disappeared, but it’s a pleasure for me.”

“…”

“You shouldn’t do anything as crazy as trying to kill yourself anymore, saying that you can’t live the life other than being the Grand Duke’s Lady of Caballero.”

He spoke with a voice that seethed resentment for tying myself to the marquis while creating a commotion with my suicide attempt. Unlike his cold-hearted expression, Curtis was the kind of person that felt responsible for Edith’s actions, so it was understandable.

“I didn’t jump out of the window because of Curtis,” I spoke calmly to ease his guilt, “I didn’t want to die because of you.”

“Then why did you suddenly want to die? It was just before I was ordained as the saint’ knight.”

‘To log out.’

I only murmured the truth inside my head, but as I stayed silent, options related to Curtis’ question blocked my view. I waved my hand in the air as the options were full of hanging lines such as “Are you worried about me now?” and “If you’re worried about me, then don’t be Jian’s knight!”

Whether he became Jian’s knight or not, I didn’t care as long as I could get out of the game.

“This is the first time you ignored me…”

Curtis’ expression, staring at me when I chose silence instead, was strangely distorted. His face, pale as a northerner’s, turned paler as if he’d seen a ghost.

He was stunningly handsome even with his stunned face, but my eyes shined at the more eye-catching writing in my view.

<Character Collapse Rate 81%>

The collapse rate increased?

It also went up as much as 3%. It wasn’t an illusion as it obviously changed.

The collapse rate barely raised by sweeping and wiping the castle all day was 3%, but it went up 3% after only a few conversations!

I walked out of my seat to make sure the reason was really because of Curtis. Edith wouldn’t have left if he wanted to talk to her.

<Character Collapse Rate 83%>

When I act differently, the number changes automatically. Perhaps because Curtis was the main character, and Edith’s behavior related to him seemed too unusual, the collapse rate increased more.

‘An interaction that would never happen with Edith and Curtis together…’

“Jian, where is the saint?”

“If you are looking for the saint, she is taking a walk in the garden, Young Lady.”

After asking one of the servants and finding where Jian was, I hurried to immediately put to action what came into my mind.

* * *

“Saint, so you are here!”

“Huh?”

Jian raised her head to my voice and smiled lightly.

“Young Lady Ebina,” she greeted me, “The Marquis’ garden is nice because the sun is warm.”

She was sitting on a bench in the middle of a hydrangea garden, looking much like the game’s heroine.

“Can I sit down?” I said as I sat next to her without waiting for her answer, nodding at her gentle greeting, “I have something to say to the Saint about His Highness Caballero.”

Jian replied without much surprise, despite the unusual politeness of Edith, “His Highness Caballero, do you mean Curtis?”

“Yes.”

She slowly opened her mouth after tapping at her scarlet lips for a while as if she was troubled by my positive attitude.

“If you’re worried about me, don’t do that, Young Lady.”

Jian stroked the back of my hand as if concerned about my health when instilled her holy power into me, who had already recovered quite some time already.
