The Goblin's Leveling System!

Chapter 100: RPG-like Leveling Training In Monster's Abode (2)

Alex's PoV:

As we went deeper into the forest, I had heard rustling sounds in the bushes and trees.

What's more unusual was that there weren't any blows of the wind or anything similar to that.

There was often several appearing shadow who moved at a tremendous speed that even I who practiced swordsmanship and had my speed stat being my main stat, wasn't able to see the appearance of the fast-moving shadows.

I had also noticed that the flow of mana around the surroundings was distorted.

Mana was an energy that was present in all surroundings and now that mana that I had noticed was changing its usual flow.

As a swordsman, I had always remained vigilant to the changes of my surroundings and now that I had noticed a distortion in the surrounding mana, I knew that something was wrong.

I did not mind it at first since it might just be Axel and his teammates pulling a prank on us.

But later, I found out that whenever we walked forward or in any other direction, it seemed as if we were walking in circles and we would always remain in the same location.

I thought it might be a hallucination but why would I, a hero with an insane amount of stats and skills, be hallucinating in a forest especially at my peak state?

The only thing that reassured me was that the heroes from my batch such as Distere and Satomi were still with me.

I had asked them if they had noticed the abnormalities in the surroundings and they all answered that there was no such abnormality.

And when I had told them that we were going circles and had remained in the same location, they all looked at me as if I had gone crazy.

I changed my mind! There's nothing that could reassure me now in this current situation.

I had gone paranoid and was thinking of many possibilities such as being killed earlier and my soul was captured by someone so I have experienced this abnormality.

I had also thought of the most plausible possibility which was that there was a monster in the forest that had messed up with my senses.

If there wasn't such a monster, then my Distere and my teammates might have been right! I might have gone insane.

Or not. Because the shadow figure that kept on appearing and disappearing had finally decided to show its appearance.

The shadow figure was just a small black cat but I sensed the mana surrounding it and it seemed that it had a lot of mana.

Its mana flow was also strange. It must be because of some of its skills.

If only I had asked Axel to let me borrow the bestiary of the animals and monsters in this world.

I had heard from the gossips of both the junior heroes and senior heroes that Axel was bold enough to steal most of the books in the Elven Library.

I had also heard that Axel was lucky enough to become the fiance of the princess of Sylmys, the Elven Kingdom.

The God Of the Worldly System must have taken care of the bad luck of both Axel and me so it had allowed him to be that lucky.

Judging Axel's personality, I guessed that he had not done 'it' with the elven princess yet.

After all, he had almost the same personality as mine and he and I had also not graduated from being a virgin.

Why am I even thinking about this in such a dangerous situation!?

Before I knew it, the black cat was already gone but I had used my mana to detect the mana in the surroundings and I had discovered that the mana of the black cat was still lingering in my surrounding.

The black cat's shadow figure had also been jumping from tree to tree at high speed.

Not only that, instead of the black cat's shadow figure only being one, but now multiple shadow figures were jumping from tree to tree.

I guessed that it had a shadow cloning ability and its use of that ability was impressive that it had looked similar to its original body.

The black cat might have been a level 1000 or maybe even above that.

Axel and his teammates might have been testing us heroes since they did not yet intervene in my situation.

Not to mention that the other heroes might have also been tested against other monsters since the heroes who had followed me such as Distere was no longer there.

The black cat might have used illusion magic or mind magic to mess up my sense from before.

Therefore, the mind magic that the black cat might have used had made me hallucinate.

All I knew in this situation was that I had no choice but to fight against the blacks even if it kills me.

I knew that Axel and his teammates wouldn't let me and the heroes die just because of a monster.

They might intervene if we were near death's door.

Why I had confidence that Axel wouldn't let us die?

It's because I already knew that Axel had planned to use me and the other heroes as fodder against the demon army.

The God Of Worldly System had reminded me that Axel's personality was so distorted that God had advised me to remain on guard whenever I'm with Axel.

God said that Axel was as scheming as I was in my past life.

I needed to do my utmost best to defeat a powerful monster that could even invoke illusions.

If I didn't have the soul energy skills from my past life, I wouldn't even dare to fight a powerful monster such as that black cat.

The experience I had gained from the fire lions only made me level up to level 342.

Even with my soul energy skills, I am not sure if I would be able to kill a fast-moving monster, let alone hit it.

One of the shadows of the small black cat had leaped itself towards me while it opened its mouth, revealing its sharp teeth.

I gathered some of my mana and materialized it into multiple swords.

I covered myself using a barrier that was made out of mana while also preparing my soul energy.

"Even torture can't scare me! Let alone a kitty cat such as yourself!"

After I said that, I fought against the small black cat and its clones.
