"Am I going to die? I'm still a virgin."

I hugged Erin and defended her like a man and faced the explosion.

The hoverboard transformed into a shield due to its auto-defend function and was currently blocking the explosion but it slowly melted due to the explosion's high temperature.

The surrounding high temperature made my clothes burned but it became cooler all of a sudden.

The source of the cold temperature was from Erin as she mumbled words that I was not able to understand.

"Frost Wall!"

Erin suddenly chant and a wall made out of ice appeared in front of us which blocked the explosion.

The wall of ice was still not able to completely withstand the heat of the explosion as it started to melt.

There must be something wrong with the explosion since a usual bomb explosion would only last for several seconds.

Even though I'm still surprised that Erin was able to use the forces of nature, it was not the time to ask such questions so I put aside such questions and focused on the problem at hand.

I used my soul energy and scattered it throughout every part of the room which gave me a mental image of the source of the explosion.

I found out that there was some sort of a small bead that released an explosion every second and made the surrounding temperature rise.

"I can't defend against the explosion any longer, Alex! I am running out of mana every second that passes!"

"I'll find a way to destroy the source of the explosion. Please hold on a little longer!"

Time was running out. Any time now, the wall of ice that Erin had cast would melt.

I made a huge hand using my soul energy and controlled it to hold the small bead.

Surprisingly, the huge soul energy hand that I had materialized was able to touch the small bead despite the small bead being a physical object.

I remembered that the imposter had told me that my soul energy was a fragment of the system so if I was able to touch the small bead despite being a physical object, then it was a product of the system?

I'll research the system after Erin, Reishi, and I survive this predicament.

I got a hold of the small bead by using my soul energy hand and I applied pressure into it but it was still not enough to even leave a dent on the small bead.

I gathered every soul energy and strength I had to forcefully destroy the small bead and unfortunately, only a small crack appeared and all of my soul energy was used up.

I was no longer able to destroy the small bead. Erin's wall of ice had almost melted and any second it would collapse.

I felt the surrounding temperature rise as the wall of ice started to melt. After that, the wall of ice collapsed and my last line of defense, which was my hoverboard continued to melt.

Is this the end? At least, I will die with Erin. Although I pity Reishi for not dying together with us.

I covered Erin using my body and even though she would still die after I died, at least I would felt a sense of fulfillment that I did not abandon her and faced adversity like a man.

The surrounding temperature suddenly rose and I assumed the cause of it was my hoverboard, which was blocking the explosion, had melted.

I felt a burning sensation on my back as it came into contact with the explosion.

My body felt tired, my vision started to dim and I began to lose consciousness.

It was all dark. I could not see anything. Am I dead?

Was there no afterlife? Was it all a myth? Too bad scientific knowledge can't discover the mysteries of the afterlife.

"At least I'm getting an eternal rest after my death."

An hour had passed while I'm inside this dark place. It felt as if I was floating inside a place.

I often felt sleepy but I tried to stay awake. What will happen if I slept while I'm in this place? Will I also lose my precious memories? That's what I thought so I tried my best to stay awake.

"God, if you are real, please show me a sign that you have any plans on reincarnating me."

I do believe that God was real but I also felt that he abandoned his creations. I wouldn't have suffered if God had given me the luck of an average person.

Now that I think about it, what happened after my parents sold me to a slave trader? I assumed that something horrible happened to me after that but every time I thought about it, only blurry images of my past were all I remembered.

For some reason, I experienced that my body was being pulled and the dark place that I was in was now getting brighter until I saw that all around me was colored white.

In a place filled with the color white, I saw a luminous yellow orb in front of me.

Due to my curiosity, I touched the luminous yellow orb and an explosion of bright light emerged which blinded my vision and the feeling of being pulled into something became stronger.

"Ahhhhhhhh!!!"

I shouted and my breathing became heavier. I felt as if I ran a hundred kilometers nonstop while passing out in the end.

I looked at my surroundings and saw Erin beside me.

Were Erin and I going to be reincarnated or meet God at the same time? Or so I thought but I examined my surroundings and found out that it was where Erin had been locked up and where I thought the place I had died at.

"Looks like an explosion can't even kill me!"

Erin was sleeping so I did not wake her up but instead sat near her and waited before she wakes up.

For some reason, I am having a bad feeling that something was going to happen again.

It was when I realized that there was someone who was right behind me.

That person, no. It would be an understatement to call it a person. He emitted a powerful killing intent that rivaled a bloodthirsty monster.

And that someone, placed his hand on my shoulder and spoke in a deep and cold tone.

"I have a grievance to settle with you, Alex."
