Chapter 22: We won’t let you off!

The male star’s face was a kaleidoscope of emotions. It was almost like a performance of changing faces. To Qi Yun’s surprise, he actually spoke up.

“Bro! I really love this song.”

Qi Yun: “… I appreciate your sincerity, but I can’t sell the song.”

“Can’t sell it?” The chubby manager was getting anxious.

“Think about it, we can negotiate a good price!”

“It’s not about the money, the song already belongs to her.” Qi Yun pointed to a bewildered Lian Qingxue.

“Me?”

“This song is for you. Everything about it belongs to you,” Qi Yun said gently.

Lian Qingxue’s face turned slightly red, but she didn’t refuse, her face was full of an uncontrollable sweet smile.

“Little girl, sell the song to me!” The chubby manager immediately switched targets.

Lian Qingxue shook her head: “Not selling!”

The chubby manager was still not willing to give up. He remembered that when he came over, the dean had told him that Lian Qingxue cared the most about the orphanage. And the biggest problem of the orphanage was the lack of money.

“We will pay a lot of money! Think about it, with money, you can help the orphanage, right?”

A struggle flashed across Lian Qingxue’s face.

Seeing a chance, the chubby manager became more spirited.

“We’ll pay fifty thousand!”

Lian Qingxue didn’t say a word.

“One hundred thousand!”

Lian Qingxue’s face was even more conflicted.

“Two hundred thousand! Little girl, two hundred thousand is a lot! We are really sincere!”

Lian Qingxue lowered her head, not knowing what she was thinking about. After a while, she raised her head, biting her lip: “I don’t want to sell it, no matter how much money, I don’t want to sell it.”

Hearing her say this, the chubby manager of course wouldn’t give up. But no matter how he tried to persuade her afterward, Lian Qingxue just shook her head and didn’t say a word.

Once the people from the TV station left, Qi Yun finally managed to escape from the chubby manager’s entanglement. After all, even though Lian Qingxue looked young, once she made a decision, she really wouldn’t change it. The chubby manager tried to persuade her for a while, but he could only reluctantly look for Qi Yun again. Until it was time to leave, he still seemed unwilling to give up.

After everyone left, Qi Yun prepared to say goodbye to Lian Qingxue. But after looking around, he couldn’t find her. It wasn’t until he reached the dean’s office that he found Lian Qingxue talking to the dean with a dejected face.

Qi Yun approached with a bit of worry.

The sound of their conversation came from the room.

“Qingxue, what’s wrong?” This was the dean’s voice.

“Dean… I came to apologize…” Lian Qingxue’s voice was a bit dull.

“Apologize?”

“Today, that man offered to buy the song for two hundred thousand, and I refused. I know the orphanage needs money… but…”

The room was filled with the dean’s helpless and pitiful voice: “It’s your song, if you want to sell it, sell it, if you don’t, then don’t. The affairs of the orphanage are our responsibility as adults, you’re still a child.”

“But I’m already eighteen, I’m an adult. And “… I don’t want to sell it, not because of the orphanage, but because of my own selfishness.” Lian Qingxue’s voice was especially soft, making Qi Yun’s heart ache: “I just want this song, Qi Yun’s gift to me, to belong only to me. I don’t want to exchange it for money…”

Qi Yun froze.

The sound of Dean Li’s deep sigh echoed from the room.

She spoke: “Little Qingxue, do you remember your wish on your tenth birthday?”

“That year, when I asked you what your wish was, you listed a bunch of things.”

“You wished for me to be healthy, for the orphanage to have a library where children could read, for Xiao Yu to learn to draw, for a basketball court where the boys could play…”

Qi Yun was completely absorbed in listening.

“You made so many wishes, but not a single one was for yourself. You remembered everyone else, but you forgot about yourself.”

Dean Li touched Lian Qingxue’s head: “How can you be selfish? You’re the least self-centered child I know.”

Qi Yun looked at Lian Qingxue in the light, unsure of his feelings.

“That’s just how she is.” Xiao Yu’s voice came from beside him. Qi Yun turned to see her, her eyes red.

Behind her were the children who had earlier refused to let Qi Yun take Lian Qingxue away.

“She always thinks of us, we can’t be selfish either. We can’t tie her down to us. From today on, we entrust her to you.”

Xiao Yu said.

Qi Yun nodded.

Xiao Yu wiped her eyes, and clenched her small fists: “Don’t think you can bully her just because there’s no one watching you! Qingxue may not have any relatives, but she has us!”

“If you treat her badly, we won’t let you off!”
