Moving as a group would be difficult now. Still, it was better to keep moving forward and use the momentum in their favor, so Zaos looked at his ex-lieutenants and then nodded. The bloody knights began to cross the battlefield while helping those that needed against the demons. The names of the two armies didn't fit their respective behavior, but that was something that could be ignored. In any case, Zaos was far more interested in the fact as to why Dalyor was fighting alongside the golden spears… he was too young to be going senile, while Zaos was determined to save Milliendra no matter what, things would still be difficult for her if she had to take the throne in case her crazy grandfather and father were to die. Fortunately, Laiex and Drian were close to him, so they never let more than one demon get close to the king.

"Captain, are we really going to abandon our formation now?" Cohnal asked.

"There is no other way… we will lose too much time reorganizing both armies in enemy territory," Zaos replied. "Besides, the visibility is getting worse by the minute, so I doubt that we will succeed in organizing everything perfectly… Let's focus on rallying the troops while he dashes toward the eye of the storm."

The fact that the king of two countries and his most powerful commanders were around certainly would help with that. Fortunately, Drannor, Drian, and Laiex were smart enough to realize that and quickly moved toward the front of the army to lead everyone.

"Milliendra must be in the eye of this storm," Zaos said.

"Can't you feel her presence yet?" Drannor asked.

"You can rest assured, she is fine," Zaos said. "If that weren't the case, the monsters and demons wouldn't try so hard to keep us away from her."

Besides, Zaos caused so many problems to the demon god that he was probably the person he wanted to kill the most. Zaos felt the same way, though. Regardless, the golden spears and the bloody knights began to march without wasting any more time while completely annihilating the demons and monsters. However, the creatures grew angry enough even to copy the humans… they couldn't let them proceed any further, so they concentrated a large number of demons in a single area to stop their advance. Even Zaos was surprised at their numbers. He could sense thousands of them ahead. If only one-third of those are flying demons that can use magic…

When he felt the presence of the flying demons approaching, Zaos had an idea, it was a bit reckless, but it was the only one he could think of… after increasing the range of his sword with Earth magic until it became ten meters long, Zaos enhanced his arms with the same magic and dashed toward the creatures. Instead of jumping normally, he used his sword after hitting the tip on the ground to propel his body upward, Zaos felt like he had seen something like that before, but he couldn't remember where… Regardless, it worked better than he thought… Zaos reached one hundred meters of height, and that was the distance the flying demons could be while still being able to see their enemies. The creatures opened their eyes widely since they had never seen a human reach that height, but the shock didn't end there. Before Zaos could begin to fall, he swung his sword around, cutting in half dozens of demons and hurting many others that fell.

Just before he landed, Zaos used his sword and hit the ground to stop his falling speed. Thanks to that, only his arms suffered some damage, but he couldn't feel it since they had been enhanced. Instead of celebrating it, Zaos repeated the same tactic two more times until the flying demons tried to attack him but failed at causing any real damage. Their dark projectiles hurt him like something rough and sharp like a spiked bat had hit him, but Zaos could endure something like that.

In order to prevent their annihilation, the flying demons moved backward to act like the backline of the demons. It was the only thing they could do to escape from Zaos. However, that also turned them into easy targets for the mages and archers.

"It has been a while since we saw one of the crazy antics of the Captain," Melisse said while laughing a little. "Rest for a while, Captain. We can let you do all the work."

Zaos wanted to say that he had recovered more mana than he had used to attack thanks to the increased length of his weapon, but he didn't have the chance since the whole army began to dash toward the army of demons like madmen while shouting. In the end, Zaos and Aleni were the only ones who stayed behind and helped those who were wounded for a while.

"Don't get too worked up," Aleni said. "We tried to shoulder Milliendra's fate by ourselves, and that didn't end well… even if some people die here, they will be dying to protect their nations and their own fates. Besides, we need to be in tip-top condition when we find the demon god."

Zaos nodded… while he wasn't the one who should decide that, he felt like both sides had to suffer the result of their actions. Demon god's tribe let their anger cause wars for thousands of years, and the ordinary humans gave start to their hatred. Most likely, the demon god himself was the one who was working to keep the hatred alive, but once he is completely eradicated, the unreasonable hatred of both sides will disappear. He created that power in the first place, after all.

After helping those that were too wounded, Zaos and Aleni returned to the battlefield after giving them the order to look after the supplies of the armies and scavenge everything from their fallen friends that could be used. It didn't seem like the best thing they could do right now. Still, they needed to make sure that they wouldn't fail.

As soon as Zaos and Aleni returned to the battlefield, they noticed that some things had changed… hundreds of soldiers had fallen, and the demons that had killed them seemed bigger than before. Zaos frowned when he noticed that some of them were looking pretty similar to Darkaun and their powerful presences were almost the same...
