The Last Frontier of Fire and Sword

Chapter 296: Help from the queen

For the next two days, Natalie and her father maintained superficial peace. But as long as Janusz talked about marriage, Natalie would be silent. But Janush would not change his mind because of this. Although he knew his daughter was unwilling, he still nagged every day, without the style of a politician at all.

In this situation, on the third morning, when Janush mentioned the topic again, Natalie put down the spoon she was using.

"I want to go out," Natalie said.

After speaking, Natalie stood up and pushed away the chair without waiting for her father's consent.

"Where are you going?" Janush asked.

"I want to visit Queen Ludvika," Natalie said.

As a daughter, she wanted to visit the queen, which surprised Janush. Immediately, he was a little happy again. After all, if the daughter can become friends with the queen, it is a good thing for him and the family.

"I asked Mickiewicz to take you."

"No, Mickiewicz's injury is not completely healed. I'll just go alone." Natalie refused her father's suggestion.

"Well then. The queen likes brooches and other accessories recently, so you can pick one and bring it to her." Janusz suggested again.

At this suggestion, Natalie nodded.

Natalie led a horse from the stable. Janush and the others now live in a villa rented locally, two and a half stories high, with white bricks and red tiles. There is a large yard in front of the villa, and the stables are on the left side of the villa. There are three horses there. Natalie untied the horse she usually rode, turned over on horseback, and then hurried out of the yard.

"I forgot to bring a gift." Janush looked at his daughter's back and shook his head helplessly. He also held a gift box in his hand.

When Natalie arrived at the temporary residence where King Kazimierz and Queen Ludwig were located, a dozen carriages had already parked in front of the palace’s gate. The preparations for the king's return to the country are underway in full swing.

Natalie got off her horse in front of the door. A servant of the palace, Ma rushed over, grabbed the horse and brought it to the stable. After that night, no one in the palace didn't know Natalie.

Everyone admired Natalie. Because she not only brought back valuable news, but also participated in the battle to defend the Holy Land and was a true hero.

Natalie went all the way upstairs.

"Where is Her Royal Highness?"

Natalie asked a passing mother.

"His Royal Highness is in the second room on the left. She is waiting for you," the mother said.

Natalie thanked her. She walked gently to the door of the room.

"His Royal Highness, this is Natalie."

"The door is open, come in."

Natalie Yiyan walked into the room.

Today's Queen Ludvika does not have the image of being shrewd and capable that night. She lay slanting in the corner of the sofa, the winter sun hitting the queen's pretty melon seeds. The soft blond hair gently hung from her shoulders and fell onto the sofa. The casual and natural posture brought a lazy warm breath to this room.

Natalie’s eyes extended to the surroundings. This is a very spacious bedroom with pale gold copper lamps hanging on the beautiful ceiling. On the opposite floor is a Persian carpet made of fine textiles and some bedrooms. Dedicated furniture. The only tall thing is the large wardrobe that occupies a whole wall. Calculating from the volume, there should be quite a few pieces of clothes in it. But it should be empty now.

"Natalie, you are here." Queen Ludwig, who leaned lazily on the sofa, gently put down the coffee cup in her hand, like a noble Persian cat.

The years did not leave too many marks on the queen's face. Although she was over forty, the queen seemed to be only thirty at most.

"Yes, Your Royal Highness."

Natalie smiled and sat down on the sofa. She likes talking to Queen Ludvika, because the Queen of the Republic has no pretensions to anyone.

"His Royal Highness, when I came, I saw many carriages parked at the gate of the palace. Are we going to Lviv?" Natalie asked.

Queen Ludwig took the feather fan on the table and covered her mouth. But Natalie guessed from the changes in the queen's facial muscles that the queen was laughing.

"No. Your Majesty, although he is anxious to return home, but there are many things to prepare, one is too fast and can't be anxious." Queen Ludvika said.

"It's true." Natalie said.

"Oh, yes. Natalie, you asked someone to see me yesterday, what is it?" Queen Ludvik asked.

Natalie's teeth were biting her lip, her hands were rubbing her trousers. It can be seen that Natalie's heart is very nervous.

"Don't be so restrained, and there is no need to be nervous, you forgot, you can call me sister Ludwiga." The queen smiled and pushed a cup of coffee with sugar cubes in front of Natalie.

Natalie picked it up and took a sip. The aroma and sweetness of coffee relieved Natalie's nervousness.

"I would like to ask your Royal Highness the Queen, no, it's your sister, you speak to His Majesty the King, let me go to Lithuania to contact the leader of Sapega." Natalie said.

After saying this, Natalie lowered her head.

"This is it!"

Queen Ludwig thought for a moment. She remembered that this was exactly what Natalie had suggested that night.

"Yeah." Natalie nodded.

"But just yesterday, your father had already spoken to His Majesty and sent an envoy to Werner." Queen Ludvik said regretfully.

"what!"

Natalie stood up in surprise. She was so powerful that she almost knocked off the coffee cup on the table.

"Didn't Master Janush tell you?"

"No?" Natalie was a little frustrated~www.wuxiaspot.com~ She didn't expect her father to come up with such a scheme to draw a salary in order not to let herself go to Lithuania.

"Are there other things you are going to Lithuania? Natalie, you can talk to your sister. Maybe I can help."

Queen Ludvika is a smart woman. She saw that Natalie wanted to go to Lithuania because she had something else on her mind.

Queen Ludvika stroked Natalie's hand. The intimate gestures and gentle language convinced Natalie that Queen Ludvika was an object to talk to.

So Natalie told the queen about Cheerchen.

"All you like him?"

After listening to Natalie's confession, Queen Ludvika asked with a smile.

"He is just my friend." Natalie insisted.

"Then what is his feeling for you?"

"I don't know!" Natalie was a little bit depressed.

Queen Ludvika stood up. She took the paper and pen and began to write.

After writing, the queen handed the paper to Natalie.

"This is for you," said Queen Ludvika.

"This is?" Natalie took the paper.

"Congratulations, Natalie Kishka. You are my messenger now. You will travel to Lithuania on my behalf to see the soldiers fighting there." Queen Ludvik said with a smile.

Natalie was ecstatic. With this letter, she can just go to Lithuania, even being a father can't stop herself.

"Thank you so much, sister Ludvika," Natalie said cheerfully.

"It's nothing more than a little effort. But Natalie, if you really like that child named Chechen, you have to take this opportunity and don't let happiness slip away from your hands." Queen Ludvika said with a smile .
