The Legend of Min Hong

Chapter 24: One Year Later

"Grandpa, how long will I have to train before I can reach the level of 'one with World'?" Min Hong couldn't help but curiously ask.

"That's really hard to determine. when I was young, I had spent two years achieving the 'one with Man' level and an extra ten years to reach 'one with World' level. You can say it took me twelve solid years!" Min Tian shook his head as he spoke.

"A dozen years?!" Min Hong gasped with slack jaws.

If his grandfather who was the family head of the Min Family could take twelve years, then most ordinary people would most likely spend their entire lives training without achieving the 'One with World' level.

"Don't bite off more than you can chew. Take things one stable, firm step at a time." Min Tian looked at Hong as he spoke. "Let's begin. First, let me teach you the 'Pierce' move of the ten basic movements!"

-----------------------------------

Under his grandpa's guidance, Hong's stance was impeccable as he 'Pierced, Chopped, Tapped and Scraped repeatedly!

This was excruciatingly boring. And very tiring.

Fortunately, Hong had remarkable recovery capability, and given his strong mental fortitude, he was not a person who would easily give up.

After training attacking moves for two hours, he switched to defensive moves for another two hours. The metal puppet won't get tired, ushering endless and several blows for Min Hong to defend against.

"Grandpa!" Min Qing was watching from afar, watching her brother training hard.

Min Tian walked to his granddaughter's side and the trio watched the metal puppet battle Min Hong. "Qing'er, I seriously didn't expect this… I truly didn't expect that Hong'er will have so much willpower. I was prepared for him to complain about being tired, so I can force him to continue training. I never knew that I wouldn't even need to."

"When he was training his footwork this morning…" Min Rou spoke as if there's a lump in her throat. She really felt sorry for her child. "Even though he said he was tired, all he did was talk. He never stopped for a single moment."

"He's been training for twelve hours already… he's still very young" Min Qing's eyes were already red with tears threatening to drip out at any moment.

"I can clearly remember when I was young, in the Min Clan…" Min Tian said softly "then, my father would force me to train also, and I was always worked tired to the point of collapse, but whenever I gave up, my father would whip me and I would cry bitterly each time I drew my sword to train… that continued until I turned fifteen, and my dad was Killed by a magic beast on a mission for the Min Clan. What followed was the dramatic decline of my mother and I."

"Seeing how cold everyone turned towards us, and following the death of my mother to illness… I finally woke up to reality. I no longer said I was tired, or that I was hurting. Every day, I channel all that pain into my training."

Someone who had never trained before would never know how painful and exhausting training was. Tiring to the body. Tiring to the mind.

"I had my doubts about his future accomplishments. Although, his aptitude for the [Jade Primal Dragon Body] is very high, if he doesn't work hard, he still won't achieve much… but now, I believe this little one will definitely become one of the true experts of this world… He definitely will!" Min Tian spoke with absolute confidence.

Hearing her father's words, Min Rou stared at her son who was still training in the distance. She gently nodded but spoke with conviction "I believe it too!"

---------------------------

Watching himself grow stronger and stronger every single day was an absolutely fantastic feeling to Min Hong.

A year later!

Bloodshot, standing far away, threw four stones up into the air. The slightly taller Min Hong nocked his bow while grabbing four arrows, holding them between his five fingers.

Swish! Swish! Swish! Swish!

Four arrows vanished into the distance instantly, leaving behind four lines in the sky, before hitting its target spot on.

Peng! Peng! Peng! Peng!

The four stones shattered into dust before drifting away in the wind.

"Good." Bloodshot walked forward laughing as loud as a thunder.

"Master." Min Hong put away the bow.

"You've already mastered the mental part. You've even mastered the 'Quad-shot' skill." Bloodshot praised as he nodded. "I have nothing more to teach you when it comes to archery. All you have left to do, is to build up experience.

As your strength grows, you will be able to fire more powerful arrows. This training ground is now too small for you. You need to go to a larger and more expansive place and shoot arrows from a distance of two to five Kilometers!

The farther you are shooting from, the more the effect of wind and other environmental factors on your accuracy."

"Understood." Min Hong nodded.

Archery requires one to be extremely accurate and precise. One needs to consider the tension of the pull, the trajectory of the arrow, and also the effect of gravity whilst at the same time factoring the wind speed and other factors!

Although it is complicated, as long as one could sense the magnitude and direction of the wind, one would be able to shoot without wasting time on aiming. This is because, the angle of the arrow trajectory and power behind it would have already been drilled into one's bones from countless repetitive training exercises.

At least, to the current Min Hong, a housefly moving at one kilometer away from him cannot escape his arrows. But to him, this was still far from being enough.

As his strength grew, his arrows will become a lot more powerful as well. Some Dan Formation Stage expert's arrows can reach several Kilometers and still have enough power to penetrate their targets!

The greater the distance, the higher the difficulty to achieve accuracy and precision… So, this requires even more training experience.

"From here onwards, I won't come to teach you anymore. Young master, you are by far the brightest and most talented student I have ever taught." Bloodshot smiled at Hong as he spoke. "Don't waste your talent. In the future, you will most definitely become the most terrifying archer god in the entire Tiandou Kingdom."

Within the training courtyard, an eight-year-old boy clad in black outfit was wielding a blunt sword. He stood there, and around him there were ten tall and powerful warriors, all about thrice his age. These valiant warriors all wore armors and wielded long spears, swords, axes, halberds and other weapons in their hands but none of these weapons were sharp.

It's has been three long years… three long years of intense training for Min Hong… Min Hong who was now eight years old had been training in the [Jade Primal Dragon Body], he already reached a height of four feet, about two feet shorter than he was in his first life.

His appearance was charming, a boy that makes every girl's eyes glitter with fantasy and drool at the thought of having him to themselves.

He was very slim and extremely fit. With a very smooth and pale gold skin. Bones and muscles that can actually withstand an attack of, a three-thousand-kilogram rock moving at five thousand Kilometers per second.

If one was looking at his eyes, they would notice his pupils was green with a tinge of gold, those eyes had this vigor and radiance to him. Like he is full of boundless life and energy.

"Same rules as always." Hong stared at the warriors, who were also the Min Family, Direct Descendant Guard. He stared at them with a gaze that was even more terrifying than magic beasts. "As long as anyone of you can hit me, each person would be rewarded with a pocket of gold!"

"Rwaaarr!" "Careful, young master!" "Ha-ha, a pocket of gold. Brothers, let the young master witness just how powerful we are." The brave warriors began to roar. They were the mightiest warriors in the entire Soaring Cloud Village; The Death Squad!

For someone to become a member of the Death Squad, he must at the very least be a 5 Star Qi Sea stage or 5 Star King stage and with at least five tour experiences at the Min Family wall under their belts. This was because the Death Squad were specifically chosen from the one-hundred-man army of the Min Family, and only twenty of them were selected to be a Death Guard.

Half of the Death Squad are in charge of protecting the Min Family castle and its direct descendants whilst the rest of them are spread to protect all of the Min Family's major source of income.

Min Hong had graduated from training with the puppet few months ago, because it could not change between different sabre arts and cannot be influenced by change in situations.

That was why he had no other choice but to turn to the battle-hardened Death Squad, to find more intense opponents. He started by battling a Death Guard, then two… then four… eight and now he's about to battle ten Death Guards.

A pocket of gold meant ten pounds of gold. Gold coins were used as a form of currency in countless tribes, and ten pounds of gold, to these powerful guards was an extremely tempting offer, one that they cannot resist regardless of however hardened they might be.

But they dare not be complacent, because Hong's power had spread across these ten Death Guards long ago, but he also did his best to make sure it was kept a secret from the rest of the Min Family. Thus, ensuring that asides from these ten guards he was currently battling, the only set of people who also knew about his current strength were; his Grandpa, his Mother and his Sister.

The guards all knew Hong's ability has risen exponentially, that even if the ten of them attacked him simultaneously… defeating him was still a difficult matter. However, it was still doable.

With a blunt metal sword in hand, Hong stared at the guards calmly and quietly

Actually, ever since he had learned the most secret and powerful sword technique [Song of the Wind Spirit], gifted to him during his previous birthday by his mother and mastered it to the point where even his grandfather was feeling bedazzled, sparring with the metal puppet to the point where he didn't even have to see to defeat it.

Thus, he was permitted by his mother to begin sparring with the guards in the castle.

They always use blunt swords when battling and his grandfather selected his opponents for him, choosing the best out of the best and making them vow to never divulge anything about his grandson.

"At the same, his grandfather his father had instructed him to only use a single sword and only fifty percent of his total strength. So, even if the any of the guards were to divulge his fighting capacity, they would still be a lot misguided."

In addition, Min Tian also warned "You are only allowed to use your twin swords when sparring with your mother and I. The twin swords are your secret weapon and you are only to use it when you really intend to kill your opponent."
