The Legend of Min Hong

Chapter 4: Birth

"Congratulations kid, it's a boy!"

An old and seemingly ancient voice sounded right next to Daniel, as he opened his eyes to gaze at his surroundings.

Currently, he was being carried by an old lady with a head full of white hair and a face full of wrinkles.

The old lady's face was currently alternating between worry and curiosity. Moreover, Daniel could also sense the tense atmosphere and was trying to figure out what was going on.

It didn't take long before the old lady turned him around and prepared to give him a light smack.

"Oh burn me! I totally forgot I have to act like a normal baby!". noticing his carelessness, Daniel released a forced and urgent cry.

"Waah! Waah!" He screamed at the top of his lungs before the old lady's palm paused mid-air and she sighed in relief.

"Come see your mother" the old lady smilingly with a mouth missing about 3 – 5 teeth, the entire room seemed to also sigh in relief after hearing the woman speak.

"There you go" the old lady handed the baby over to a beautiful middle-aged lady, who was currently bathed in perspiration. The rays of light coming from the night gems hung in the room made the droplets of sweat glitter, portraying the lady, as a fairy who just arose from a divine stream.

A minute later the old lady left the room. After hearing some hushed conversations outside the room, the wooden door of this simple but beautiful room creaked open, as an old man waltzed in.

"You can leave now" the old man said in a soft tone to the maids who stood quietly on both sides of the bed. They acknowledged with a deep bow before stepping outside, giving them some alone time with the baby.

"Father! You came!" the young lady said in a delighted tone, before extending the baby who was now wrapped in a white furry cloth.

"Silly girl! Where else would I be when my grandson is being welcomed by this world?" the old man smilingly chided the young lady.

"Come here little one, let grandpa take a look at you." The man extended his arms as the lady ushered the baby into his arms. The baby then took a glance at this man who seemed to be his grandfather.

The man had a head full of white hair, but with two silver hair lines on both sides of his head. He looked to be in his mid-fifties. He had deep blue eyes sitting inside a slightly shrunk eye-socket. A slightly pointed nose and well chiseled jaws which his white beard could not conceal.

A warm energy suddenly flowed into the baby's body. It was very comfortable but faded away not too long after.

"Father, how is my son doing?" the lady on the bed anxiously asked.

The old man shook his head before sighing softly as he spoke; "The quality of his body is quite feeble and pale, it will be quite difficult for him to cultivate".

The lady on the bed had faint tears in her eyes; "Let me hold him" she said, as the old man handed the child over to his mom before asking; "Have you thought of a name yet?"

"You shall be bestowed the name; Min Fei-Hong!" the young lady said happily, as if what the old man had said earlier didn't matter, before she continued to feed the baby.

"Min Fei- - - what?!" "What the eff does that even mean?!" "Oh! please don't tell me this world is an ancient world!" Min Hong thought, as he enjoyed his first meal.

"Haha! What a strong name!" the old man happily said, before he stepped outside and instructed the maids; "You can clean up in here and get them ready, I'm throwing a banquet at the main hall for the baby tonight".

"As you wish, Elder Tian!" The old lady said respectfully before she entered into the room with the other maids in tow, to help clean up the young lady and tidy up the room.

The banquet at the Min family main hall was filled with fascinating performances, with musicians, drummers and lather clad female dancers. This was very different compared to earth but was still quite pleasing to the eye.

"Wow!" Min Hong who had been sleeping all through the banquet opened his eyes and saw the star filled night sky, as he praised mentally.

He and his mother; Min Rou, were currently on their way back home with some maids. Whilst Min Rou was listening to the maids discuss about the fun-filled banquet, none of them noticed that the new born baby was currently lost in thought.

One of the disadvantages of him being a baby was that, he had to act ignorant and naïve at first, then as time passed, he would gradually act more like himself a little at a time.

He determined that he had two priorities: Firstly, he had to learn their language as all babies are supposed to learn their native tongue, and he only had so much time before being considered as a retard.

Secondly, he had to somehow figure out how to cultivate, or at least build his body strength. This also had a deadline, since his potential is at peak until his brain stopped growing.

Min Hong spent the first day in bed together with his mother, and whenever she or any of the maids spoke to him, he paid close attention, trying to figure out common words and their pattern.

After failing miserably time after time, anxiety started brewing within him. Fear of the unknown started to build up, forgetting the fact that he was still a two days old baby and his current situation was perfectly normal.

Thankfully, his mother showered him with nothing but love and affection, making his day at least worthwhile. And despite the experience of his past lives, Min Rou made him feel loved and protected, and to him this wasn't half as bad at all.

The next day, Min Rou showed the strength of a wild ox, as she decided it was time for her to stop resting and perform her daily duties

Min Hong finally had the chance to see her full figure. Despite giving birth three days ago, she was a good-looking woman in her late twenties. Her body was well endowed in the right places and her curves were immaculate like a masterpiece from a world class sculptor.

She had a fit body which had been honed through hard work. Her waist-long hair was ocean blue in color, with shades of silver all over it, making it look like the sunlight reflecting on ocean waters on a summer afternoon. A truly mesmerizing sight indeed!

"Seeing mother with her flowing hair on a sunny day, must be a sight to behold" he thought. Maybe it was because he was a baby or the mother-son bond, Min Hong felt deeply proud of her.

Time flashed by, as Min Hong continued his daily trial and error in a bid to understand the language spoken in this world. Since King Yama had decided to send him here, then he couldn't afford to stand on ceremony and had to get on with his life.

***********************

Five months has passed since Min Hong was reborn into this world. It was spring, or at least so it seemed from what he could see from his environment.

The mansion he lives in resembled a countryside villa from earth, yet it was the size of a castle, mostly made of smooth and beautiful brown cream colored wood, with a rock-built fence on its perimeter.

At the moment he was in his mother's embrace peeking around while his mother was talking to him. Little did she know that Min Hong managed to understand majority of what she was saying.

"The language of this world is not so hard, also because it had a lot of similarities to English from earth. Well, it's also all thanks to Min Qing never leaving my side and continuously speaking random things to me.

These five months was spent by him mostly in his mother's embrace walking around the Min family mansion and occasionally when he was in the company of Min Qing his elder sister who was two years old.

Sometimes thinking about his future, and sometimes listening to his mother sing or his sister mumble random things, days flew by.
