The Legendary Ruler

Chapter 2 - The Anvil Kingdom

"It's been six years already"- Henry sighed as he walked deeper into a dense forest, filled with sky-high trees.

Six years passed since he was reborn into the body of the infant Crown Prince of the Anvil Kingdom, Henry Anvil.

The Anvil Kingdom was a small coastal kingdom in the Gladio continent. The Kingdom had vast fertile lands and surrounding it was the Million Monster Forest, filled with monsters of uncountable different species.

In these six years, Henry was awestruck after he discovered the existence of Qi in this world. In his past life, he read hundreds of books where the main character was invincible and omnipotent, like a god by manipulating Qi.

Henry knew that the Gladio Continent was a cruel world where only the fittest survives, so he had to become strong enough to at least survive.

"Godfrey, are we close?"- Henry questioned as he continued to venture deeper through the trees.

All of sudden a cloaked figure appeared behind him. This man was Godfrey Armstrong, the chief and the most powerful man in the Imperial Guardians, a squad trained by the Anvil royal family to protect and accomplish all the tasks given by the King.

" Yes, My prince...we are almost there"- Godfrey said as he came closer to the prince, remaining at least a step behind him.

Since the King and the Queen disappeared five years ago, Godfrey always accompanied the Prince. He knew that the Noble Clans were vying with vicious and greedy eyes the Anvil throne, and if needed they wouldn't stop at anything, so as a loyal member of the Imperial Guardians, he would protect the Prince at all costs.

They continued to walk deeper into the forest when they found themselves in front of a strange cave.

"Here?"- Henry asked as he tried to gaze into the cavern, but he couldn't see anything.

"Yes"- Godfrey said with profound respect in his voice.

This cave was known as the Dragon God Awakening Lair, a sacred place for the Anvil royal family. Only the direct descendants of Sigmund Anvil, The First Ruler, were allowed to enter this place.

"Prince, this is the place where all the previous Kings entered before they assumed the throne. Your father asked me that if he someday disappeared, I would bring you here to inherit the throne and the secrets of the Anvil Family"- Godfrey said as he took a step back, indicating that Henry should enter.

Henry listened quietly to everything. He understood that Godfrey opted to lead him here because of those treacherous Noble Clans.

"It seems like they are ready to make their move"- Henry gently shook his head.

Godfrey was amazed by Henry's perception. Although he knew that the prince was above his peers in all senses, he didn't know that it was to this degree.

"Indeed, they will act in seven years, at most eight and when the time comes, you need to at least be prepared my prince"- Godfrey said in a serious tone, he knew that those creatures were just preparing their troops and waiting for the right time to make their move.

"I am going then…"- Henry sighed and walked into the cave, melting in the darkness.

"Good luck"- Godfrey bowed his head, sending his prince away and disappearing with the gentle breeze.

When he stepped into the darkness, Henry couldn't feel the floor under his feet any longer. Suddenly, he felt his body being pulled and stretched all over. He felt nauseous and sick.

All of sudden, he felt his feet touching something solid again.

*Blurghh*

Henry immediately got on his knees and throw up. That sick feeling was worse than those he experienced in those amus.e.m.e.nt parks on Earth.

"F.u.c.k"- Henry said as he stood up and looked around. He was in some sort of narrow tunnel, with rugged stone walls.

Although Henry identified where he was, he couldn't see everything clear. He could only see at most one meter ahead of him.

"It's wet" - Henry exclaimed in surprise.

Near this cave, there was no source of water so how could these walls be wet?

"A Teleport Array? It doesn't matter, I need to find my inheritance"- Henry dropped the matter and started to walk, guiding himself while touching the wall, like a blind person.
