The One Luna

Chapter 42 - A Cause for Celebration

The next day, a whole Brigade of Mages composed mostly of Elves surrounded the <Titan>. Noticing so many people, it looked up. It narrowed it's eyes as soon as it saw Luna. Apparently he was aware how much of a threat this human was. However, as soon as he looked to the left, he saw Elder Aran, then his eyes widened in disbelief.

"They actually have such an old monster by their side? Why even bring this many people? They could have just asked me to surrender!" The Titan thought to himself. Not even a couple seconds later, the Titan turned around and ran the opposite direction.

"I don't think so." Elder Aran sent an arc of lightning that hit just a few feet in front of the <Titan>. In truth, he definitely had a chance to run. The next moment however, sealed his fate.

"I challenge this <Territory>." As soon as Luna said that, the <Titan> knew it's fate had been sealed. Even if he tried to run now, he wouldn't be able to. Not that he had a chance before. He could only accept his fate.

It didn't even take long, with Elder Aran and the other Mages bombarding him with spells, Luna managed to lop off it's head. The rest of the zombie spawns were negligible as well, as even the EHZs that managed to get close were quickly dispatched by the front line.

In a matter of 24 hours, Bacolod City was was fully liberated. This victory was used by Luna as an excuse to take a whole day to celebrate and roll out the plan he formed the day before.

It took a whole day of preparation and hunting down mutant beasts before everything was ready. The Elves played their music, and brought out things unique to their world and culture, folk dances, even things that would Elves would consider offensive or a compliment. The humans did the same as well. The most amazing thing that people witnessed was the innate ability of Elves to cultivate plants due to their affinity with nature. The humans celebrated further when they found out that they too would be capable of such feats once their understanding of the elements

Everything was going according to plan. The good fellowship among races this day was a symbol and a reminder that race is never a basis for how well people should get along. It was also a way to eliminate ignorance towards each other, removing unnecessary conflict. Of course, conflict will always exist, but this way, it will be kept to a minimum where it's easily manageable.

After the festivities were over, Luna who managed to get level 50, gained more improvements on his pre-existing skills. Level 50 was a mark that someone was halfway towards becoming a Demi God. After pumping all 50 stats to VIT.

Sura herself learned the passive skill <Steel Body> which the Asura were also well known for. The reason why Sura didn't have any body techniques was because her body would automatically evolve to such a point as long as she kept leveling up, surpassing even the techniques that the Giant race had. As such, it belonged to the category of skills where it didn't show up as a stat, but took effect regardless.

Meanwhile.

North of the Philippines, Cavite. In a fortified stronghold to the West of the New Bilibid Prison.

"Emil, we've received reports that the so called <Sovereign Nation> has fully conquered Bacolod City. Although we don't know how they managed to do it yet."

This was Emil Aguinaldo, the current standing President of the Philippines. The man who addressed him so casually was the leader of the prisoners, Tomas Mascardo. Recently appointed as a Philippine General in charge of the prisoners. Beside him, were the foreign ambassadors and investors that all lived in the same neighborhood as Emil did prior to the new world, they were all people that had some form of influence around the world.

"Send them a message. Tell them that the current President of the Philippines deems his act as treasonous!" He was obviously enraged.

"Oh? Does that mean I am a traitor as well, Mr. President?" Tomas had a smirk on his face.

"Of course not. In this chaos you've pledged to help out, so your conquest of a mere prison is something that I can allow."

"Are you sure it's smart to provoke him, Mr. President? He did conquer a whole city after all. We've merely conquered the New Bilibid Prison and a few territories. Our forces in Manila have only recently gotten some breathing room as well."

"Fine. Extend an invitation to him to have a summit with the remaining leaders. Tell him to work with us in order to save the Filipino people, make it sound urgent. Then we'll find a way to bait him into fighting that monster in Taal Lake*."

"Fine. I'll have somebody take care of it." After saying that, Tomas bid them goodbye.

The man beside him, an American ambassador and retired General, Douglas MacArthur couldn't help but speak up. "Mr. President, are you sure this is a wise choice?"

"Yes. We must eliminate potential enemies. Someone as capable as that <Sovereign Nation>'s leader must be dealt with in order to cripple them."

"You do realize, that the fact that he's able liberate Bacolod City in such a short time, is proof of either his personal strength, leadership skills, or both. If you fail in this assassination attempt of yours, you might very well be pitting yourself against the most capable General in this country."

"That's exactly why he has to die." Emil had a very dark and conniving expression on his face. The rest of the people in the room were quite tense. They understood the reason why Emil wanted to assassinate the <Sovereign Nation>'s leader, but they had absolutely no information about that person.

"Lord Luna, the integration has gone smoothly with only minor issues that were resolved right away. We're ready to start Operation: Island Conqueror as soon as the rest of the preparations are ready."

"Good work, Hans. I'll be done with the installation of the new <System> infrastructure. I'll announce it as soon as I'm done, so everyone can upgrade their equipment further."

"Yes, Lord Luna." Hans, who was now a Colonel in the Sovereign Army, gave a salute before taking his leave.

"Sigh. I told them to stop calling me a 'Lord' but they keep doing it anyway." Luna felt helpless, but there was nothing he could do. He could only keep viewing the <Nation Shop> and choosing which infrastructures to spend their VIS on.

He had to make sure the Elves were provided for as well, since all their <System> equipment were practically confiscated before they were transported to this world. Elves were proficient with wielding blades as well, so they were handed out <Itak Tagalogs> that his soldiers had farmed enormous amounts of, before he could find access to projectile weapons which the Low-born Elves preferred.
