From 742 to 755 AD, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty suddenly remembered that the Jialing River in the middle of Sichuan was beautiful and interesting, so he ordered Wu Daozi to take a post to the Jialing River to sketch.

When he arrived at the Jialing River, Wu Daozi roamed on the river and looked far into the distance. He passed by the beautiful mountains and rivers scene by scene. His experience and feelings at that time were deeply engraved in his heart and he did not draw a sketch.

When Wu Daozi returned to Chang'an after touring the mountains and rivers of the Jialing River, when Xuanzong asked him about his painting, he replied:"I don't have a powder copy, and I will keep it in mind." Xuanzong ordered him to paint on the wall of Datong Hall. Wu Daozi did not list the surface of Jialing River's landscape, but grasped the fascinating state of each mountain, river and hill in Jialing River. That is, he made a high-level summary of the magnificence, beauty and natural characteristics of the mountains and rivers in this area, and wrote with concentration. As the day progressed, the beautiful scenery of three hundred miles along the Jialing River emerged vividly on the paper. Xuanzong looked at it and admired it.

Before that, the great painter General Li (Si Xun) was good at landscape painting. He also painted the Jialing River landscape on the wall of Datong Hall. Although the painting was also very wonderful, it took"a few months to complete" and was not as fast and good as Wu Daoxuan's painting..

Therefore, Xuanzong said with emotion:"Li Sixun's work took several months, and Wu Daoxuan's work in one day are both extremely wonderful."

It can be seen that Wu Daozi has superb painting skills and skillful brushwork. Wu Daozi was not only good at painting landscapes, but he was also quite expressive in painting animals.

He once painted five dragons on the Datong Hall."The dragon armor is flying, and every time it rains heavily, smoke will appear." The dragons are really vivid.

Later, he painted at the three gates of Zhuangyan Temple."With a sharp mind, he was quite wonderful." When

Wu Daozi saw Lulingga's paintings, he felt that he had made great progress and his brushwork was very similar to his own, so he exclaimed:"This painting is so wonderful." His writing power was not as good as mine at that time, but now he is on par with me. This is where his mastery comes in."

Because Lulingga tried his best to paint with all his heart and soul, he passed away a month later. During the Qianyuan period, Wu Daozi was already over seventy years old. As for Wu Daozi's life and official career in the future, there is no way to verify it because the historical records are lost.

The reason why Wu Daozi achieved such extraordinary achievements in the art of painting was because he could innovate.

He is good at absorbing the essence from complex object forms, summing up the concave and convex surfaces, yin and yang surfaces into irreducible"lines", and combining them with the inner movement of objects to form the laws of line weaving, such as the height, side, depth, and diagonal of clothing patterns. The postures of rolling, folding, floating and lifting are entirely based on the organization of lines to depict objects. The requirements for this kind of thread are strict. Every thread meets the requirements of expressive shape. Every thread is full of rhythmic beauty. This is a complete and creative thread.

Wu Daozi's painting style was imitated and learned by many painters in the Tang and Song Dynasties.

The simple and elegant"white drawing" of the Song Dynasty painter Li Gonglin was developed from Wu Daozi's white painting which"does not use the back as the best, but only uses ink traces". It is a new style in Baiguo painting.

In the Holy Land of Modern Painting, where his relics have been completely lost, Wu Daozi is still well-known in the painting circles. This is because he created the painting school that has dominated the folk painting world for more than a thousand years - the Folk Traditional Painting School.

The murals we have seen after the Tang Dynasty are all influenced by Wu Daozi.

The Yongle Palace in the Yuan Dynasty and the murals in Fagang Temple in the Ming Dynasty are all in the style of Wu Daozi, and the Dunhuang murals also have Wu style works.

This is a being canonized in the painting.

There are many legends and stories about Wu Daozi, which Zhong Jing saw when he was reading in the library.

Zhong Jing often goes to the library to read books. Apart from professional knowledge, his favorite thing to read is biographies.

Especially those cultural celebrities in China.

For example, poets like Li Bai and Du Fu, and calligraphers like Wang Xizhi and Zhang Xu.

The things Zhong Jing saw were very messy, but because of his photographic memory, he basically remembered everything he had seen.

Wu Daozi has many legends. Also, if a celebrity does not have so many legends, can he still be called a celebrity?

According to rumors, Wu Daozi's paintings were filled with light when he started painting.

Wu Daozi came back from sightseeing at Lidui Mountain in Xinzheng. He passed by a thatched house and heard the sound of cotton spinning inside, but there was no light. He felt strange. The next day, Wu came to the thatched house. After understanding what happened, I realized that this was the home of a lonely old woman. She never lit the lamp at night because she had no money to buy lamp oil. So, he decided to give the old woman a painting.

Wu Daozi ground the paper and began to paint. First, flick the pen soaked in ink onto the paper, and many shiny little dots will immediately appear on the paper. Then use the pen to lightly paint on the small dots a few times, and finally draw a circle in the blank space, which is considered completed. He said to the old woman:"It will be useful if you stick this painting in the house." Although the old woman could not see what the painting was, she was convinced that Wu Daozi was a good person and would not lie to her. She happily took the painting. Carefully tape the painting to the wall in front of the spinning wheel. When it got dark, the old woman discovered that the painting was actually a blue sky with countless stars shining on it, and a round moon illuminated the room as brightly as during the day. _Feilu reminds you: three things about reading - collection and recommendation
