The Phoenix's Legion

Titus: "I must admit that Ragna's abilities have made many in the phoenix legion uneasy, his strength has lifted his position and yet he is so young. As if that wasn't the biggest issue, what of his powers? His abilities neither summon fire or anything related to the suns power so what is the source of that golden mist and what kind of weapon can devour one's enemies."

Threant: "well I suppose the best place to start would be my discovery of the cyber brotherhood, you see during my long hours with Acheron gave me an opportunity to force information out of him. The spell was simple, I would put him in a deep sleep and dive into his mind and gain new knowledge or at least bits and pieces of it."

Ryoko: "clearly it's not that effective if you only gain just a hand full of information."

Threant: "a vampire's mind is not an easy thing to fool or hack, I had to greatly weaken Acheron just to attempt this. The clearest thing I saw in Acheron's mind was his obsession with Ragna, being defeated didn't sit well with him, I honestly couldn't get anything of relevance from Acheron until he had a moment of realization."

Drago: "a moment of realization?"

Threant: "yes, apparently Acheron had heard of the power that Ragna held when he was still a mortal man."

Titus: "that could have been thousands of years ago, how could he recognize Ragna's abilities?"

Threant: "because apparently as a mortal man Acheron was a member of this saber brotherhood, why he turned on them is unclear but the brotherhood is undoubtedly real and it still exist today. Unlike us they never left the land of the immortals, instead they fought from the shadows and inflicted us much damage on the vampire race as they could, looking at what was left of their battles has led me to believe that this is a group of extremist's."

Edward: "if these extremists have been fighting the vampires that long then why hasn't the legion heard of them? Why haven't they joined our cause or aided us in the battle of the Rovahn walls?"

Threant: "because this group doesn't fight vampires so as to achieve freedom, they fight the immortals to protect an old history, an old religion and an old artefact that apparently has been fuelling them since Acheron's mortal existence, it might even be further back than that."

Titus: "what can you tell us about this power source and history?"

Threant: "the history of this brotherhood was actually quite clear, you see long ago the earth was ruled by beasts and the brotherhood worshiped these beasts, in exchange for their loyalty they would be granted the power to turn into these beasts, what kind of beasts was very difficult to establish considering that these beasts were extinct long ago, before the immortals even set foot on earth."

Edward: "why would men worship something that no longer exists?"

Threant: "that would probably be because the heart of the king of beasts is what the brotherhood uses as a power source. If only you had seen this thing, it was as if it belonged to a giant and although it was ancient it never decomposed, even though it had been pulled from the king of beast's c.h.e.s.t the damn thing still bled. It bled so much that it made a fountain that the brotherhood as kept hidden for years, it's this blood that they use by placing a drop of this beast blood into weapons they call saber gauntlets."

Madmar: "gauntlets? So they don't use swords, spears or guns?"

Threant: "no, apparently they rejected technology completely and only seem to use just the one weapon, they barely wear any armour at all, in fact the only part of their bodies that seemed to be protected by armour was there c.h.e.s.t's and nothing more. Another use for the blood would be suicide bombing."

Thomas: "come again?"

Threant: "well members of the brotherhood would drink the blood and after three hours or so they become unstable and blow up, the strength of these explosives are quite frightening, it makes sense why the vampires would be hunting them."

Edward: "well all this just sounds amazing and everything but what does all this brotherhood education have to do with Ragna?"

Threant: "because in the mind of Acheron I didn't just see, I felt and when I felt the power of that blood it was identical to Ragna's. Another development about the brotherhood I found unsettling was how frequent their attacks had become, Acheron deduced that the reason for this was that the brotherhood had received a sign that there king had returned."

Titus: "what sign?"

Threant: "the heart of the beast king had started beating and looking at when the brotherhood had become so bold with their attacks it had occurred at around the same time that Kill-shot had discovered Ragna."

Kill-shot: "that's a pretty bold assumption, you actually think that Ragna is this beast king I mean his not exactly a giant and his clearly too young to be considered ancient, for god sake Threant he isn't even immortal!!!"

Threant: "I faced the same confusions so I went to the one place that held any answers, Ragna's home"

Kill-shot: "there's nothing left of his home, the hellboken crew made damn sure of that"

Threant: "because of Luke's death? Well I did happen to find his corps and clearly Vanessa and Jonathan weren't the only members of the hellboken crew that excepted this Michael's offer. It wasn't easy finding Ragna's home with all the rocks in the way but I did eventually find it, there wasn't anything out of the ordinary at least not until I had found a trunk which appeared to belong to Ragna's mother. In the trunk I had found a white vale which was of the brotherhood has well as the brotherhood c.h.e.s.t plate which appeared to have the image of a wolf with the moon in its jaws engraved on it."

Titus: "so Ragna's parents were a part of this brotherhood but you said they never left the land of the immortals."

Threant: "am just as confused and what I continued to uncover didn't improve things at all."

Kill-shot: "what do mean?"

Threant: "the crystals that were above Ragna's home didn't just give the illusion of sun light, they also altered my perception of time. When I lit a light near the crystal it glowed such beautiful colours so I took time to observe them but when I was done I realized that seven months had passed."

Edward: "I do recall you missing after the wall battle but how could you lose time like that, weren't you hungry or thirsty."

Threant: "indeed I was but I didn't feel any of these things until after I had left the crystal, I just stood there for seven months. I continued my investigation and found the corpses of Ragna's parents in a horrid state."

Edward: "how were you finding these corpses?"

Threant: "am a magic user, I have my ways now please don't interrupt me anymore. I took samples of them and returned to the capital, in my lab I analysed Ragan's parent's DNA and compared it to Ragan's and it wasn't a match, the people raising Ragnar weren't his real parents."

Kill-shot: "how is that possible and why did you do that in the first place?"

Threant: "so that I could have justification to carry out the final phase of the investigation, to actually find out just how old Ragna is and gentlemen I have to tell you that the results had sent me into a state of shock."

Titus: ".... Why?"

Threant: "because my king you and I, Rovahn, the vampires the immortal family the arrival of the immortal family are all things that occurred after Ragna's birth."

Drago: "what!!?"

Threant: "Ragna is approximately three million years old and the crystals of his home were used to alter his perception of time, in his body are also traces of potions that are used to strip one of his memories. I had also discovered a grave site not too far from the mountain and there I felt billions of corpses beneath the ground and when I uncovered one of them it had a name engraved on its skull, Edward sky. Every corps either had Ragna's mother or fathers name engraved on their skulls, this farmer's lifestyle was just an illusion that the saber brotherhood has continued for three million years, why and how are beyond me but Ragna is clearly not human. Not even a silver hunter can live that long, not without aging, its driving me crazy I just don't know what exactly we're dealing with here but I may have a solution to that."

Edward: "forgive me am still trying to gather my thoughts, it just…. Well…. Hummmmp…. How do you wish to proceed?"

Threant: "Ragna can never know what we have learned here at least not from us."

Kill-shot: "I don't follow."

Threant: "the compass Ragna has leads him to where he is supposed to be, that's what I was able to translate from the writing on the compass with the aid of Acheron's mind. If I can help him use it to lead him to the brotherhood and uncover the truth of this brotherhood, then we may finally understand who and what he is. My king with your permission I would like to take Ragna immediately, it would be better we don't know how you plan to infiltrate the vampires, I may even be able to turn this saber brotherhood to our cause, with what we're planning we will need all the help we can get.

Titus: "Kill-shot he is your second, I will not force you to tolerate any decisions made involving the boy."

Kill-shot: "there's much we clearly don't know and far too much that we cannot understand, if Threant believes this can work then I support it, for the legion."

Titus: "well said Kill-shot, Threant consider your request granted."

Threant: "thank you my king, I will do all I can to help with the stones and then me and Ragna will be on our way."

Kill-shot: "how will you and Ragna manage to get to the land of the immortals?"

Threant: "don't you worry about that, I know one individual crazy enough to navigate the black oceans, it would be nice to travel with pirates again."

Titus: "then on behalf of the legion I wish you good fortune, as for the rest of you remember, what was discussed today does not leave this room, is that understood?"

Everyone in the room: "yes my king!!!"

Titus: "then that concludes our meeting."

Threant's log: "it has been many years since I stepped foot on my home land, when last I was there my entire family had turned into monsters and were killing each other. There's just too much to deal with but at least I have finally divided my burdens, I doubt I will be returning to Rovahn for what we attempt will surely take everything we have to accomplish. Even if we destroy the nightmare tower we still must face every vampire that walks those cursed lands as well as face Raziel, the land of the immortals is where it all began perhaps it is fate that it be the place where it all ends, Threant of the phoenix's legion signing out."
